Sugar Gliders are beautiful animals. They are animals of trust and are great when you build a bond. If this does not work, then they are not suitable animals to have. I saw them in a pet shop in a small cage and I knew I could give them a better life than that. So I took them home. A male and female. Made a quick stay and I did research about what they all need. I already knew a lot because I was very interested in biology as a child and I followed various educations. I wanted to become a vet or assistant. * Sugar Gliders are marsupials, nocturnal animals. You can adjust the rhythm a little but not too much. * They are group animals, they must be with 2 or more animals, otherwise they are unhappy. They wash each other, sleep together, play, everything. * Never buy sugar gliders from a store. Yes, I tell from experience. They are not used to people and that bond will never come again. * If you want sugar gliders, buy them from a good breeder where they are domesticated so you don't have wild ones those that are unmanageable. * In some countries they are prohibited. In the Netherlands you can have them with papers, domestic Sugar Gliders. Sugar gliders bred in the Netherlands. Wild animals are prohibited. They are originally from Australia. * Sugar Gliders are suitable for people who have experience, they have a complicated diet and the proportions must be good. Otherwise they get paralysis symptoms. * Our sugar gliders are domesticated, their parents and distant ancestors also come from the Netherlands so no wild and they can no longer live in the wild. These are domesticated as more animals are, not all animals are suitable as pets, but with proper care, space and attention, sugar gliders can have a happy life at home. Otherwise I would never have them. I do not want to promote them , I hope that if you want them you know the information and realize what kind of animal it is. I just want to share my love for animals and that includes our sugar gliders. Haha you almost have a book to read, but I hope to answer many questions. So are two of your sugar gliders the one you bought from the pet shop? They are very cute and their fur looks so soft, I imagine it must be as fluffy as a chinchilla for example.

Hi eveline, love your little loulou. I had a daschund for 13 years, male, and he was a second son for me. I was heartbroken when he passed away last year and when I watch loulou I feel so happy. The sugar gliders are awesome, closest we have in India to them are squirrels. Love the home you've made for them. You should start a home stay and for sure visitors will queue up. Lots of love to you, your lovely girls and the cutest pets ever. Do keep posting new videos. Will never tire watching.

This is an amazing look at sugar gliders! I had only seen them in photographs so this is a beautiful and informative look. I had no idea they would bond with humans, but they obviously love you, Eveline. The gliders are so very cute with their big eyes. Seeing the jump was amazing and appeared so effortless. these little cuties are totally sweet and beautyful .. :) you've built their accomodation even very fine and tidy . the handjumping was gorgeous . .. i can almost see that you would give nearly any animal a friendly, peaceful life because you respect them and they trust you ... :) when i was a child, i often was on the farm of my gandmother during school holidays and the animals don't have a well good life by times on farms , sadly :( They are often only seen as the individuals there who deliver food and part of the income . so I'm very happy to watch how instinctful and with love you and the family taking care for the different pets you have ... and it's easily seen your fine instinct and warm feeling for them even as a child/young human with the idea and drive of becoming a vet . Loulou is so still and patient at the end of the video! You are do gentle with the gliders. I love your channel. I just worry that people will get pets and not have the money or time to look after them properly. Thank you for adding the information about how they are not always a good idea as pets. I dont think we are allowed to have them in the uk. X

I love Loulou and Friends. Soon, within a few years, perhaps, Loulou will be living with a full scale zoo, elephants and all. LOL If you ever take a trip to Asia or Africa, please take your video camera, your husband and children, and share with us the elephants at Elephant Nature Park in Chiang My, Thailand, where they take care of adopted, older elephants, or the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, where they rehab orphaned baby elephants until they can return to the wild. They need different food every day to get all the nutrients they need. Fruit, vegetables and insects. I understand that not all people feel like doing it, but then they are not suitable. You don't have a ready-made bag of food for them. Yes that flying is really great to see.💛
Wat zijn ze schattig! Het is zo mooi om te zien hoe ze je vertrouwen door dat geluidje wat ze maken, dat ze van ver naar je toe ‘vliegen’ en zelfs in slaapvallen😍. I find it funny how it easer it is to get native Australia animals in other countries, you need a licence to keep most native animals and you would never see a sugar gliders in a store here in oz. there are more frill neck lizards in America then there are here.

Yes, Sugar Gliders are cute and cuddly and lovely creatures and this home cares for them so well. Yet I am surprised again and again that these Australian native animals are allowed to be bought and sold as pets in other countries, but in Australia it is illegal to keep native animals as pets unless you have a permit and/or are members of rescue organisations to rehabilitate injured wildlife to release back into the wild. Many Australian animals are social and need to be part of a pack and it's absolutely heart breaking when seeing them not in their natural 'pack' situations. For some people, just because you can buy an exotic animal as a pet, doesn't necessarily mean you should.....

So happy to see another pup who loves sugar babies as much as mine. I assume some people would flip out at seeing them together, but it really does depend on the animal and the owners connection. My dog Kira who is a Jack Russel mix with Blue Healer has been raised on a farm since birth so she knows well enough that other animals are friends unless expressed otherwise. Also suggies can actually defend themselves if they needed to in some situation, they may look small but there bark is big. I will add that as a precaution I never leave my suggies and pup alone together not that I don't trust Kira I just know that animals and people alike all have the ability to do silly things when no one is watching. Strange creatures we are. lol
🐶🐾🦥🦥🦥Your videos and information are interesting, clear and complete. Here in Argentina, only casi and dogs are allowed. I also have 5 tortoises but since many years ago (37 years) Now they are in extintion so pet shops don't have them. Sugar gliders are amazing. Thanks for teaching and sharing.

Where is all there toys??? For enrichment? I really adore them:) and. You have an adorable set up and great report with them! 😊 just curious where all there stuff for play is? Do you take the toys out sometimes? Mine love theirs toys and have found swapping them around can help for variety😁
Thay are wonderful. They seem similar in a way to the flying Squirrel🤔 but I don't think flying Squirrels are from Australia🤔 are the Sugar Gliders from the same family tree? pardon the pun😂
In the USA, a sugar glider costs about $700-800. U.S.D. How much are they in the Netherlands? I’m glad they have to bred in the same country and cannot be imported or taken from the wild!
The sugar glider is endemic to parts of mainland Australia, New Guinea and certain Indonesian islands; and it was introduced to Tasmania, probably in the 1830s. It is a popular exotic pet but is prohibited in some regions, including parts of Australia and the United States.
