We’re hitting the road in our vintage camper van RV and traveling to all 50 states in 50 weeks! 🌎 We successfully made it out of Texas and to our first state: Oklahoma. We stayed at an amazing camp site in Talimena State Park, drove the Talimena Scenic drive and didn’t break down at all in the process! We’re so excited to finally be on the road in the RV and see everything our country has to offer 😍

Here is a tip to help cool down the cab and engine. When you stop for the night, or a rest, open the hood so heat can escape from the engine. Also, get camping fire starter sticks at Walmart to help start your fires.

I am so glad that somebody is doing a trip across the US and going to all 50 states. I know Kara & Nate had started one and then they stopped it I imagine they’re overseas instead. But I’d love to see all the things there are to do in our own country. Thanks again for doing this series!!😁

I do appreciate that you discuss that this was not a real look at Oklahoma. Missing the American Indian and cowboy history is a real shame. I did like that you showed a part of the state that not many, including myself, have seen. I realize that it is impossible to do all 50 states justice but when I saw you were starting in Oklahoma I got super excited and am sort of sad that your viewers are not getting to learn and see more.

I’ve been so happy watching you renovate Clementine. I had the same RV growing up. I am really concerned about one thing- the lock on the back door. After putting the original door back in, you have the easiest lock to pick. My father was a photographer and had all of his photography equipment stolen while we were on a hike. Please put a deadbolt on that door and maybe even some slide bolts on the front doors. I would hate to see someone ruin all of your hard work. Sending you lots of positive vibes and incredible adventures ahead!

@@Theendlessadventure , I live along the coast in NC. Years ago, my previous home was next to a forest and coastal wetland where I walked my dog. At both ends of the trail, I kept "spider sticks" to clear the spiders from the trail. I had to laugh; your video brought back memories. Mine were bigger than Allison's stick though. I'm so excited to follow y'all on this adventure across the USA.

I’m just doing my periodic binge watching of all your vlogs start to finish. Just watched your camper van trip in Canada. You mused what it would be like to have a ‘van life’! I’ll sad your overseas trips are paused, you’ll always get a warm welcome in the UK!, but looking forward to riding along on 50 states trip with my favourite RU-vid couple. Oh boy. That Canadian van trip is one we talk about all the time. Sadly I don't know that Clementine would be up for it, but we definitely need another Banff road trip in our lives. 😍 And don't worry too much, we'll be putting the trip on pause and doing a bit of international travel in the fall. Not sure if we'll get to the UK during that stint, but maybe that'll be our next road trip destination after the US!?!! We'll go crash with the Travel Beans in their van for a bit. 😊 Thanks so much for the comment. So glad you're enjoying the adventures 🙌

Looks like a fun albeit hot trip. I think a good idea to "tick" each state, is to have at least one restaurant/food experience, one museum, and more importantly one "nature" camping spot at a state park or national park or national forest... Coz the point of this trip (I'm guessing) is to discover states, for you and for us. And I'm super curious what natural beauties there is to see in states that we don't associate with nature at all, like Oklahoma, Nebraska or New Jersey.

Great suggestions. Trying local foods is definitely going to be a top priority from now on. Museums are great too, but we find that a lot of times they don't want you filming so it gets a bit tricky. Either way, here's to discovering hidden treasures together 😍

And if you go to Alaska (GO! My favorite place on the planet), I'd HIGHLY recommend going to Icy Strait Point to whale watch with Glacier Wind Charters...not affiliated, just had an amazing time with them a couple of weeks ago. When you get to Wisconsin if you travel between Madison and LaCrosse take Highway 14 instead of the Interstate. The south west corner of Wisconsin was missed in the last glacier and you get to see bluffs and valleys and the road is good it is a state highway. There are many places to camp also if you need to stay a night.

Congratulations on ticking off the 1st state on your year-long trip! I, too, didn’t think there was much to Oklahoma, but it is beautiful. One thing I hope you can add is maybe eating the state food or sandwich or dessert or something, whatever that state is known for. Would be a nice touch in showing off the state. Also, you can get those little fans that plug into a USB port for Ruby so you’re more comfortable driving around or one of those small, portable a/c units for about $50 that cool an area really fast (also USB powered). Good start though.

We placed it in an on sight grill at our cottage rental. I cooked sausages and 2 striploined steaks, it worked very well. I am sure you will find them in the U.S.A.There was plenty of heat to do veggies in foil.

I would say 60. Even though you plan 50. You'll find some places you simply love and want to explore a bit more, some places you'll find a 'secret mission' that you want to finish/find/discover, and some experiences of breakdowns and traffic and weather affecting your plans. I estimate about 58-62 weeks when it's all said and done. And THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THAT. Take the time you need and the time you feel it deserves. Undoubtedly you will find yourself in places you want to dedicate more time to in the future and some places you never wish to return to again. I look forward to your travels and wish you both the best of luck.

Congrats on starting your 50 states trip, looks like y’all are having a grand time in Oklahoma! I have an old RV I’m fixing up as well, and I hope someday I can take it on a trip like y’all’s(but also Gas prices are horrendous right now, so I’m going to wait a while) . But when you get to Florida, if you end up going towards the orlando area, make sure you experience the nature of Wekiva river and the St. John’s river! It’s truly one of my favorites as a local, especially to go boating up the river to the blue springs, where you can swim in the cold fresh spring water! And there are plenty of great RV parks north of Orlando in that area (my personal favorite is Rock Springs RV park)! Anyhow, I wish you all luck on your big trip, and if you all have any mechanical issues in Florida, let me know, maybe I can help out, I definitely have fun working on motorhomes, as mine can be a handful haha! 32746 says hello!

Ruby is so gorgeous. I would've loved to find a Sidekick, but alas...I ended up with a wrangler instead. Totally not disappointed in the Jeep but do love me a Sidekick!

Good Morning Eric and Allison What's going on Adventure's y'all did a great tour of Oklahoma Eric when your driving the jeep up or or down try and slip your jeep in Low that should be helpful for you as far as the Ac goes you might be able to do it yourself from the Local auto parts by just Getting the A/c pro kit just pump until its full

omg YAY!!... You guys! So happy for you :) And what an EPIC (I like that word too Eric, don't feel bad using it LOL) first week!! Those beautiful views, the awesome little scratch map, no car problems, the grand bee escape of '22 AND a BEAR sighting! I was a bit worried when the first words that appeared on the screen after joking about getting food poisoning were "A few hours later" (ie I thought you were gonna say... oh yeah, the grilled chicken wasn't cooked enough, we are violently ill- which would be doubly horrible to experience together in an RV :/ ) buuutt... NOPE, thankfully it was not that at all but a dang bear! How cool :) Great job with those aerial shots too! That opening sequence going across the bridge was amazing. I was bummed that the RV Reno stuff was coming to an end but your energy for this trip is just so infectious that I am 100% on board for the next stage now! :) See u on the road ;-)

Thank you for changing my mind about Oklahoma. I thought it was flat, too. So nice to see the beautiful vistas in the mountains. Looking forward to more adventures. Love your map ☺️ Happy safe travels!

This 50 state, 50 week is a great idea. Look forward to seeing how it goes. One thing I will say is I wish you would have kept the generator. Think that would have been real helpful on your trip including running your rooftop AC while driving.
