you should never pour over organic matter the whole patio should be excavated down to the sub soil and then be compacted our building inspector would never allow it not trying to bum you out you have a nice yard i have done concrete for thirty years

A few of our neighbors did it at the same time, so we all got a deal, but I believe it was around $1500 at the time.

Madge Mathews ahh!! Thank you. You remind me so much of my Aunt, so beautiful and welcoming. I definitely will do that.☺️ Yes, it is very exciting. We are building with Westin homes in a suburb outside of Houston. It’s been 3 weeks since our design center appointment. How many weeks after your appointment did they break ground? I was told they should be starting by the 4th week. Our pre-construction appointment should also be coming up around the same time also.

@@davidsonm1981 4-6 Weeks sounds about right, depending on the weather and permits etc. Even if they start a little slow, they make it up along the way. Another thing to remember is to watch along the way and bring anything you notice to their attention. They will make corrections as they go and will do all they can to make you happy with the process and outcome of your home. It's ok to relax and enjoy the process. At least that has been our experience and this is our 5th time building. It all works out in the end, so try not to stress too much. 😀👍🏽

The contractors didn't draw out a plan for you guys to submit to HOA? My HOA require request payments and there's a lot of things I'm unsure of since it's a new community that is still being built. Plus, I've never dealt with Texas HOA. Definitely different from the Northeast.

No my husband drew out the plan to submit to the HOA. Some contractors may draw a plan for you to submit but they may charge you. But it could be worth it if you’re unsure of how to diy. 😀👍🏼

Interesting. I'm came across your page for the same reason our Hoa in wilamson County is requesting a plat map or survey map with a drawing of the project (porch) we are trying to add. Any chance did your husband use a special website to draw out your project? Or hand drawing?
