This was definitely our most expensive grocery haul ever. Stephen was sweating at the register. 😂 After being gone for the Summer on vacation, moving into a new home while we finish up our fixer upper dream house, and starting back to school, we had a lot of groceries to buy! We went to Costco, Kroger, and even a farmer's market so the kids could get all their favorite snacks and lunch items for their lunch boxes. We even stocked up on some food for a big BBQ this weekend when Stephen's family comes to visit!

Amanda's first pronunciation of pandan is correct. Pandan chiffon cake is like a "staple cake" here in Indonesia. Sometimes when I don't have any vanilla for my baking dough, I can use pandan essence. I have three potted pandan plants in my yard. You can add one or two pandan leaves to your raw rice during storage. You also can add one or two pandan leaves during the rice cooking process. It makes your rice more flavorful.

Yea pandan leaves can be used in many types of cooking. Besides rice, we also can put it in "pengat" (sweet porridge) or several types of sweet delicacies...

In Malaysia we have a lot of sweet treats and dessert made from Pandan leaves. The fragrance of Pandan leaf it's delightful and sweet! I am so happy to see Amanda really excited for her back track routines. I can see the excitement from her face! If you're able to get panda leaves in your area, you can try putting one leaf in your rice while boiling. It will make your rice extra fragrant! 💕

Pandan cakes are delicious. Pandans are grown a lot in Asia and the juices from the leaves are used to flavor foods especially dessert. Am sure you all will enjoy the cake 😊

I always enjoy seeing your grocery hauls. I have started watching what I eat in a day more now and not am trying not to eat so many processed foods as well. Pandan is a staple in South East Asia! Its equivalent to vanilla in bakes, rlly fragrant, sweet smelling and a beautiful bright green color. I'm sure penny will love her cake!

Good morning Millers. I remember the big grocery hauls when my kids were younger. Everyone was involved in getting everything put away. I had to go back midway in the month for milk & fruit. Always love to see what you have bought from Costco ... It's correct, eat at home is much better than buying outside especially when you have such a big family.
