You have to remember that Shogun was a novel written in 1975. This new TV series is very close to the book. Jame Clavell wrote stories of political intrigue mostly set in Asia. I'm not sure if he got the inspiration from spending most of WWII in a Japanese prisoner of war camp in Singapore, but he certainly did his research for Shogun.

I think the "RU-vid carrer needs to lead to TV production" kind of mentallity is the same as "All animated properties can only be legitimized by having a Live action adaptation"
@demi8890
@demi8890 14 дней назад
It kind of does need to lead into something bigger like a brand or a tv production though? Do you really think that Pewdiepie is going to be making money off of RU-vid videos when he's 80 years old, when RU-vid may not even be popular anymore as the world will be more advanced and probably obsessed with a new type of video platform (just like what happened to Vine when RU-vid came along). Every single RU-vidr will either need to get qualifications to get a real job, or create some sort of brand or series that will outlast their online popularity, because most of the 20-somethings making videos on here will not be popular on RU-vid for the rest of their working lives. Hell even Pewdiepie like I said, he doesn't get anywhere near the views he used to get, do you think he'd be rich enough to retire soon without making gaming chairs and merch and games and other things outside of RU-vid?
@MexicanHeadbanger95
@MexicanHeadbanger95 13 дней назад
@@demi8890 I don't think RU-vid is going anywhere any time soon. Also, Vine came and went within the lifespan of RU-vid, and it clearly made no dent in the armor. I do agree that, depending on the content, some people should either strive for more, or have a plan B in case things go bonkers, but I think a lot of people can make a fine living with the content that they make, or they serve as a hobby that brings in some extra cash. The real issue I'm trying to point at is the "There's only one right way" mentality. RU-vidrs have always struggled with "making it big" becasue they think that their content is seen as "lesser", Arin Hanson has always said he doesn't like being called a celebrity even after 10 years of making RU-vid videos, so do Philip deFranco, and Jacksfilms. Also, They have all ventured out into different things, but they were always things that THEY wanted to do. They didn't go for any type of "milestone" like other RU-vidrs that DID go for the easy milestones, like writing a book, or making a late night show. The best artists, the best entertainers do so by being themselves, not by trying to fit a mold that the industry is telling them "It's the best for your carreer".

Two Tarantino-esque films that always come to mind for me are Bad Times at The El Royal and Bullet Train, both have larger casts of characters who all have their own complex connections and motivations, with loads of dramatic irony involved, a lot like The Hateful Eight and a little bit of Kill Bill Honourable mention to The Man With The Iron Fists, whose director RZA was heavily influenced by Tarantino, but also had Tarantino on to help write, cast, and produce.

For anyone interested, the percentage in weather forecast is not about IF it's gonna rain, but how much of the area will be affected/covered by rain.

This is the second misunderstanding of this that I have seen, misunderstood in the same way too. While I cannot speak about devices outside of iPhones - when an iPhone, "weather app says there is an 80 percent chance of rain on a Sunday morning, that means there is a 80 percent chance of rain at any point in that area throughout the entire morning."

Sorry Monke, Germany wouldnt be fine for a Cyclothon. There is only a very poor and patchy connection in most parts of rural Germany. You would need three routers and three SIM Cards for all of the three german mobile networks and you would still get many connection issues and bandwith problems with them.

21:48 This is the right thing to do. If you’re moving at traffic speed (~30MPH), you need half a lane in case you get the speed wobbles. And you’re not really holding up traffic for long.

About cycling in Europe, I believe any of the routes of the „Camino de Santiago“ are very nice to do with bicycle and have internet connection.

59:35 the good news is that Connor doesn't actually need to worry that he "lost the progress". Once you've reached a benchmark, it's much easier to bounce back up to it even if you took a long break. That super flexible guy you might have seen all over the shorts page mentioned it in one of his stories, although he spoke from "flexibility" his powerlifter friend in the video vouched that it's true for other muscle types too. I grew up with unnaturally toned abs due to my quirks in posture(always leaning or swaying to help combat stagnating blood in legs and such), so despite rarely exercising and even then never targetting the abs I still had a countable 8. Since the pandemic it went away due to poor diet and static lifestyle (took years), and till recently too. Nowadays I reworked my nightly stretch into semi exercises like a hybridized yoga. Within a week it came back stronger than ever, and only a month later it was fully countable again. Basically, the 'peak form' you once worked so hard for, but for some reason let go, is much easier to reach the second+ time around and you'll find it's almost laughable to amount you can surpass it by even with just the same effort you put into maintaining it before.

1:52:00 To reiterate, the "Tarantino vibe" can be attributed to Sally Menke. She is the editor for his films up to and through Inglorious Bastards. Passed unexpectedly in 2010. I think there is an overlooked perspective when consuming Tarantino's more recent works. Tarantino after Menke.

If I have one piece of cycling advice for anyone it is this If you have rounds about in your country, and you are approaching the round about, TAKE THE FULL LANE. Do not get stuck on the outside of the round about that is the absolute worst, most dangerous place to be. Even if you are turning left with the round About, take a more middle line and signal left. If you are going straight, get as close to the middle of round about going thought in a straight line, I am often even with cars, one of the quicker people through the round about, I waste no time in round Abouts. I take them as fast as possible traffic permitting, and if I don’t have to give way.. Round Abouts are a place you don’t want to spend too much time in, get in, get out

Man, if your not used to it, bike seats are no joke. I remember I once road a bike after a super long time of not riding. Also I was pretty overweight at the time. My butt hurt so bad, it finally got to the point where the pain stopped and I just went numb. For the rest of the day I couldn't feel my butt or anything in my pelvic area (yes my Weiner was numb lol)

I went to a yakiniku place in Kyoto last time I visited by myself. I was just eating and noticing all of the music being played in the background were all anisongs. When I was paying I made a comment about it and the cashier guy said it was his playlist and he asked if I watch any anime and I mentioned I do and we had a 5 min conversation about what we watched. Pretty interesting and random conversation.
