Our bus was stuck in the mud! Yaxhá Mayan Ruins 

Nov 13, 2017 - Heavy rains the night before, our continuing adventure led us to the Yaxhá Mayan Archeological site. Anibal, our driver attempted several times to motor up the slick, muddy hill, only to slide back down. As luck has it, the local Policia in their 4x4 truck parked side by side, next to our van and we climbed in the back cab and bed and 4-wheeled it up in two trips. Yaxhá is known for its long occupation from 1000BC to possibly 1000AC. Compare 2000 years to the relatively young USA of 240 years.
