Not only the restored chapel will remain for posterity, but also the restoration stages and techniques documented in vlogs almost daily. The work of these people is remarkable!
@@mariamaru9972 Different system from here whereby owner gets perks from registering in that the Municipality, etc, can not do anything on the property sans them(owner) A person does wonder the France system due to its vast Chateau and Historic properties. Merely suggested as here Historic Value is worth the Midas touch. Anyhow will research more may have found wrong info. Thanks!
Sister Renee here, I'm watching your Premiere and the Beautiful work being done on your awesome Chapel I pray that you will be able to use that beautiful silver fabric with the grapes and the wheat on it representing the Holy Eucharist and the precious blood of Jesus in communion that I gifted you for your altar cloth or at least somewhere in your beautiful restored Chapel also I hope that you display the rosaries I gave you somewhere in the chapel to be used by your guests who know how to pray the rosary you can use the beautiful green cloth bag to store Mass Linens inside and then put inside the drawer of your Sacristy cupboard I'm talking about purificators and things like that that the priests will use to celebrate Mass they're called Mass Linens thank you and God bless
When I think back 4 years ago with just your Mummy puttering around in a few plots of vegetables. Thank goodness for your Garden Team to be able to transform the plots of potatoes to a Garden of Eden.❤
Turn the chicken coop window the other way around. So they open out. They will be easier to access and clean from the outside. That won’t matter to the chickens one way or another.
They should do a version of the "Lalande Logo" with a chicken instead of a peacock for the door! 😅 And have postcards sized portraits of all the deceased chickes in little gold frames on the walls inside. That would be truly something! ❤
As a chicken owner myself - love the personality that the chicken coop is taking on! I’d suggest turning the window so it opens outwards. If Amaury, Kristy, or someone could build a strong but removable frame with hardware clothe to fit on the inside of the window as a screen that would be great! If the chickens need to stay locked inside the coop they could still get fresh air while remaining secure. Chicken wire isn’t fox proof but well done hardware wire should be. Kristy probably knows it already, but be sure to have the run made of hardware wire rather than chicken wire and to go 2-3’ on either side of the fence to prevent a fox or something from digging under.
In the far away future someone will find that door and say "Can you believe the previous chateau owner used this beautiful priceless door for the chicken coop? Astounding!!! 😂😂😂
Lol! But it might have to be long in the future. I think I caught a mention of the doors they were considering being from the 80's. So much 80's decor belongs in attics and chicken coops!
ahhh.. that mansplaining sounds soo familiar 😆Kirsty: ''we can raise the window so that it comes level with the top of the door on the couple of bricks I put here?'' . Philip '' if we raise the window on two rows of bricks that would do it'' Ahhh yes, what a great idea..
So cool knowing they will leave the stencils for future generations but that they also sometimes find them 200-300 years old! Just to think about the craftsmen that made them that many years ago would be mind boggling to me if I found them!
Everything I love about Chateau Diaries is in this vlog! The Chapel is looking truly magnificent already, and a Chateau full of wonderful friends, family and Peacocks! 💖💖💖
I suggest that you cut some decorative holes into the chicken coop door, it will need some ventilation. And perhaps a mini-awning so that rain does not enter . 🇦🇺
Thank your Stephanie for the foresight you had when you decided to restore the Chapel … I don’t think you could have imagined what a work of art the restorers would do … it is absolutely magnificent … definitely going to be THE “centre piece” on the Estate that countless visitors will be overwhelmed by Durban SA🇿🇦
Steven holding up a glass of Cheer is always such a bright moment. Love those two. Hope they can squeeze in a longer visit while they are not working on their own new home.
OMG a patron face to a name we all know - so fun! I have this feeling when the final reveal and first celebration in the chapel will have me sobbing (I'm sure you have guessed I'm a crier LOL). It is already looking stunning! Oh and the chicken palace I'l save a tear for that LOL
Stephanie you work so hard but you make it look easy. I love that the restorers are bringing the chapel back to life, and Lancelot is providing his own brand of joy for everyone to see inside the chateau.
I am surprised you are not employing a light specialist who has experience with lighting in chapels and churches. Seems like you would want to do so to avoid costly mistakes. Lighting is tricky.
Big mistake. Instead of leaving it the hands of an absolute amateur who only thinks of sockets and lighting points, they should have put it all in the hands of a professional in electronics and audiovisual techniques.
When you mentioned hosing out the chook pen it made me think that you should drill some holes in the bottom bricks to let the water drain out! Works a treat for ours! 💖🐥🐔
I'm so sorry to see Gerry leave. Come back soon. It is wonderful to see Steven and Tatinette. They are a ray of sunshine. I am just in awe over the chapel restoration. It is looking magnificent. The chicken coup is looking fabulous also. Grant, that BBQ looked so good. Those steaks are bigger than the ponderosa. ❤
The chapel restorers are true artisans and it is just brilliant to see their work, it’s all so impressive. Great video Stephanie as always. I don’t eat beef, but damn that looks delicious.
Oh how thrilling to finally sight Lodovico! He has been a figure of total fascination to me from the beginning! I had no idea in my head of what he might look like! I just knew that he had the most sonorously beautiful name, worthy of the grandest of film stars or opera singers! Very excited to see him and I am going to take another look once I have watched the video through completely! Thank you! Have a gala week!
The statue in the chapel you have just showed, made me think how wonderful it would be,to recreate her stunning patterned dress into wallpaper for one of the bedrooms. K🇬🇧❤️❤️
The gazebo is just exquisite. Davey is a genius. Love the progress on the chicken coop with the window. Sadly Gerry had to leave but his farewell at the airport always a treat.✈🎼 So good to see Tonton & Tatinette so soon and the bbq looked incredible. ❤🥩🍗🍟🥖🧄🧀
Jerry can’t leave!! Come back! Come back! Every time I see the chapel I am overwhelmed by the details. I could sit there for hours just staring at the decorations. (I’m an atheist so there would be no other reason. 😅)
Having been intently interested in the Chapel Restoration, I truly appreciate these wonderful updates on the progress. Stephanie is simply one of the best Chatelains of them all. I feel sure it is no accident, as she knows her followers and what they like to see. Thank you, my dear!
Hello everyone, we have chickens as l just wanted to recomend that there is plenty of ventilation with the new chicken coup. This would be so important for the health of them all. Love your channel.
Firstly, THANK YOU for being so positive and entertaining. I feel like I know all of you personally, and I appreciate seeing things that I will never be able to see in person. I just love you all. HOWEVER!! I simply MUST give a shout out to MARIE for the mind-blowing, beautiful culinary accomplishments she is producing!!! Marie!! Yeah!!!
I want to congratulate you all again for the magnificent work being done on the Chapel! It's a work that will outlive us all, thanks to everyone who participated. Very Well Done!
I am SO enjoying the chapel renovation- it is amazing- I didn’t think we would get to enjoy this so soon and as a complete restoration- seems lockdown and patreon has worked miracles ❤️🇦🇺🐨 Koala hugs everyone
It's so beautiful to see the chapel restoration! It almost makes me cry to see this fairytale treasure coming back to life. All of the artisans working on this project are just so talented. I personally think that this remarkable restoration is worthy of a beautiful coffee table book, including the portraits of the artisans and the exquisite details they are working on. It is so commendable to see your vision being manifested into a beautiful reality for so many people to enjoy and for many generations to come. Bravissima Stefanie!! ❤
I hope you keep all the stencils and patterns for the history of La Lande.. you have the videos ,but the archive of this project is vast...and may be of interest as a documentary
Every time I see that cute little puppy butt wiggle, I think of my little Rascal and how I miss him. Your little Lancelot is absolutely adorable!. Thank you so much for sharing all your adventures and your family and friends and everyone there at LaLande. I continually look forward to seeing the next one and the next after that. You do a brilliant job. Thank you!
Oh gosh, Benoit, Sebastian & the whole chapel restoration team are FABULOUS! Look at their craftsmanship. It’s going to be a destination for lovers of architecture and restoration once completed 🙏🏽 Lancelot is absolutely adorable & an absolute joy to watch. I know Molly is a sedate senior lady, but I’d love to see more of her, too. Ombaline’s doggos are so lovely xxxx
Have you thought about having the window "open side" on the OUTSIDE of the chicken coop?? The you can have boxes to reach in and get eggs right there and the panes will be out of way for cleaning.
Perhaps create an outdoor kitchen on or very near the patio...or even in the walled garden...wish we had smell-o-vision for Grant's cooking in this vlog!😅👨🍳
Love the chapel restorer’s work! What a privilege it is to watch and marvel at their amazing work. And nothing like an Aussie BBQ for a satisfying meal. Enjoyed seeing Gerry, Paulina and your aunt and uncle. Like the close. You’re now teaching us the days of the week. 🤣😂❤️❤️
Sorry to see Gerry leaving so soon. He is such a happy wonderer and carries a backpack. Such a ray of sunshine for Lalande. Climbing roses are my favourite and yours are so beautiful and abundant. What a feast for the people. Love it. I too barbecue a lot here in Canada.
Can you create a window screen for the chicken coop for fresh air and safety? Check out the roosting boxes where the chickens eggs roll out onto a shelf, no cleaning needed, ready to box or a bowl.
