We are a group of six seniors ending our 12 day tour of Vienna, Bavaria , and Switzerland in Lucerne on july 4, 2023 . We are supposed to be transferred to Zurich airport where we end our tour. Instead we are planning to extend to see Interlaken and Grindelwald. Where do you suggest we spend the two nights? Interlaken or Grindelwald? Do you have recommended hotels in Interlaken? Grindelwald? We followed your CLOY videos and they are very well done. Thanks you much.
We'd recommend you stay in Interlaken as there are more hotel and restaurant options and it is more centrally located. There are also two train stations about 1 mile apart. We do not have enough experience staying in Grindelwald as we only made two separate day trips. We stayed in Hotel Interlaken during our first time in Interlaken; on the subsequent visit, we rented an AirBNB place because there were 6 of us, but we drove to the sites instead of using public transportation. If you use public transport, you'll be better off staying in one of the hotels near one of the two train stations.
@@happyshellfilms much thanks for your recommendation. In your other video you went to the valley of waterfalls, Lauterbrunnen. Pls advice how to do this using public. Another question is which other places do you recommend we visit while in First. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences.
@Renato Sio, someone drove us to the village when we went to Lauterbrunnen. However, using public transportation, a train from Interlaken Ost (RE62) runs every thirty minutes and can take you to Lauterbrunnen. It is about a 600-meter walk from the train station to the village and about a kilometer to Staubbach Falls. You can do a waterfall hike in Lauterbrunnen to see other waterfalls. Still, we do not have much experience to tell you exactly what to expect. At Grindelwald First, you can get to the top station and do the cliff walk or hike to Bachalpsee (a mountain lake); the hike is about 2 hours round trip, so we opted not to do it during our last visit. If you are in Grindelwald, you can also go to Kleine Scheidegg and Jungfraujoch (this was in our other video). Just be prepared if you are going to Jungfraujoch that the air is thin, and we had difficulty adjusting to feeling dizzy the whole time we were there. If you are staying at Interlaken, just right behind Victoria Jungfrau Hotel is a funicular that takes you to Harder Kulm, the top of Interlaken. If you want a more relaxing experience, you can do a Lake Brienz cruise that begins behind the Interlaken Ost train station with stops at Iseltwald and Giessbach. I have linked a time-warp video of our cruise here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xy0Ps1c_Glc.html
@@happyshellfilms Thanks much. Your time warp video of lake Brienz looks so beautiful. We will most likely do this. How much is the fee to go up Harder Klum? Is the funicular the only way to get there? You have given much much help in our planning for July visit. Thanks
@Renato Sio, the funicular is the only to get up Harder Kulm and will cost 40 Swiss francs round trip. Here is the website for more info: www.jungfrau.ch/de-ch/harder-kulm/
Thanks. If you’ve seen part 2 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tNClOYEcEQw.html, you will hear the English version of those k-pop songs.
Glad you liked it! Another video, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tNClOYEcEQw.html, also talks about all the other filming locations outside Zurich.
Thank you. We will release part 2 of the CLOY video in 5 hours. It covers filming locations in Lake Lungern and the Bernese Oberland region. Have a wonderful trip in the summer. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tNClOYEcEQw.html
Thank you for your comment. The maps are added using the video editing software. The goal of the channel is to help others plan their own trip. Hope you enjoy yourself in Switzerland.
What month did you go? My wife and i are planning to go next year around March 3rd to celebrate our 20th anniversary. I just want to make sure we plan accordingly..seems pretty chilly there. We do plan to visit some of the Crash Landing shooting sites as well
March may still be snowing. We went to Switzerland twice for the purposes of CLOY tour. The first one was between late Nov and early Dec and it was already snowing. The 2nd one was between late April and early May and it was a mix of rain and sun shine.
Yes, the last stop of Bus 103 from Interlaken is Iseltwald Dorfplatz. From the plaza, you can see the shore of Lake Brienz, approximately less than 150 meters away. The landing stage will be a little bit on the left as you walk on Schönbul toward the shore. You may not see it readily as it is covered by a hedge. I hope you have an exciting trip to Switzerland!
This video was taken between late November and early December 2021. There is another video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tNClOYEcEQw.html - this was taken between late April and early May 2022.
We were there twice, the first time, we stayed at a hotel in Interlaken (Hotel Interlaken-hotelinterlaken.ch/en/), and the 2nd time, we stayed at an AirBNB rental near Interlaken.
