Agree Desi, always had my hair straight during 20’s & most of 30’s for work or special events, because straight was “better”. I embrace my curls now. Not sure of % but us girlies are rare!! 🙌🏻 ALSO times are so different because there are more products for us and available resources like YT to learn how to embrace them ❤️❤️❤️

As a curly hair girl myself I used to always hate my curls even though everyone around me has always told me how beautiful it is. As I got older and learned how to do my hair on my own and learned how to embrace it!! It’s now my favorite part of me ❤️

Des I love your hair. I get so mad when people make fun of curly hair because honestly it's the best kind of hair. I prayed for curls from a young age and sadly never happened lol. My sons both have curly hair thanks to my husband and my oldest likes his cut low but my 5 yr old has more defined curls and I refuse to cut his hair lol. I always tell my boys they have such thick beautiful hair that so many women pay to have. I never want them to be ashamed of who they are. I love you Des thanks for another great video. My daughter is almost five and she has told me she does not like her hair and she wishes she had hair like mine -which is straight. Idk if someone has said something to her about her hair but I have always assured her that her hair is beautiful and more importantly that who you Are makes you beautiful not how you look. Anyway I loved listening to Des hair journey and will use some of these products on my daughter. I need to get a diffuser

I have straighten my hair for the past 20 years. I have a little daughter who is beautiful with curly hair and I love it and I always tell her how beautiful it was but I felt so hypocritical telling her that but straightening mine you have motivated me to embrace my curls, and I have never felt more beautiful more powerful. I literally feel like the most beautiful girl with my hair. Thank you so much for giving me the courage to rocket and own it for me and my daughter.

Love what you mentioned about teaching our kids to love their hair! My children are mix (Mex & Black) and I have super straight hair and they both have different texture hair. My daughter super soft curly and my son wavy curls. I am making sure to learn as much as I can to not just style but to teach them how to style their hair. I have also gotten my daughter books on other little girls although curly hair (her fav "don't touch my hair") and I love how she now sees herself in other curly hair girls and knows they are beautiful too.

I myself have curly hair , when i was a kid it was much better but like you i’ve dyed it , have it in constant buns & my mom put a relaxer when i was in middle school lol so it damaged my curls as well . I hated my hair growing up & always just wanted straight hair , but i’ve learned to love my hair finally & now with having a 4month old son my hair is also not the same & is up in buns almost everyday , but you really inspired me & encouraged me to go out get the products & take better care/embrace my curls . Omg! I have been waiting for this video. I hated my curly hair as a young girl and absolutely love my hair now. Still doing trials with products but love playing with them. Hardest part is the high maintenance requirement to keep those curls bouncy. 😊❤ Also if you could explain the actual moving process from LA to TX that would be nice. Considering moving out of state. La is too overpriced and overwhelming sometimes 😢

Beautiful hair Des 🌺 Also a huge must now that you live in Texas. You and Julius need to buy a water softener for your home. Go to Costco for a good deal for a water softener because that way your appliances have longer lifespan , your skin and hair will love it too! At first you will feel weird with the water but you’ll get used to it. Also your shampoos and soap last longer because a little Goes a long way ! Water softener and reverse osmosis for drinking water. You save water bottles and the water is very clean and alkaline. Same quality as Fuji or essentia.

I have naturally curly hair myself / I'm Hispanic as well... My hair looked like your hair back in the day... My hair was bone straight when I was younger but once I got my aunt Flo my hair changed to curly curly, ppl thought I had a spiral perm (Yes perm) back then... I hated it, did everything to always straighten it... I eventually just cut it short in 93 & it's be short for the last 29yrs... You're Beautiful... Much luv from Colorado ❤️

So pretty !!! My 10 year old daughter has the longest straightest hair ever and want’s curly hair so she has me braid her hair once she gets out the shower so it can have that curly look for school in the morning. Crazy how girls/ woman want what we don’t have .

Your curly hair is beautiful. I kind of experienced what you did trying to keep my curly, coily hair straight with relaxers/perms back in the days. I watched RU-vid videos, and learned to embrace my beautiful curly, coiled hair. 🙂

Lately my curls have been falling they haven’t been holding their curl. I have used olapex before but truth I didn’t want to spend the money for the small bottle. I watch ur videos on a regular but I didn’t even know curlsmith had a bond curl until this video. Well I was excited because I felt great there’s an alternative to olaplex. I purchased the curl bond asap and used it today and WOW did it make my curls pop and bring them alive again after just one use leaving it on 20 mins. Thank you for this video. You’re curls and ofc Koa’s curls are gorgeous 🥰

you should try putting on products with latex/rubber gloves on! i noticed it makes my curls so much more defined. also not touching your hair while diffusing it, just hovering the blow drier around your head until the cast is dry. regardless your hair is beautiful!!

Yesss I'm so excited 😊 to see the hair routine my daughter is biracial and she has the tightest curliest hair I've ever seen and I struggled for a long time figuring out a routine for her hair because she is very OCD and likes to take a shower everyday and try to wash it all the time and I finally came to realize that that was doing more damage to her hair her curls in general so now we do have a decent routine but I love seeing people with beautiful girls how they do things to help my girl be able to do her hair even better so thank you for this
