@@GoodSimpleLiving I remember getting into hornets when I crossed a fallen log while scrambling cross country up in the mountains. I'm not allergic but I could taste the venom in my mouth. Gross. (They aren't very smart, they only attacked my hand which I put on the log but I'm not complaining.)

Those were the days, I was much younger and in the British army stationed in Dorset, UK. A local farmer used to ask for volunteers to help out cleaing the hay from his fields, three of them, over 1,000 bales in total. We earned the cider and food his wife served us every evening, followed by a party the last day of bale picking. Still brings back memoiries 55/56 years later, specially the cider, ooh that was good!!!!!!
It is such a a comforting sound, even though it's means a lot of hot work, to hear the baler thump, thumping along. What a blessing to have strong, young men to help get the hay in. ❤ It's always comforting to know that there is hay in the barn. ❤
I apologize for not leaving any comments for a very long time due to a tremendous error a couple of hospital employees made while I was under their care after I had surgery for a torn quadricep tendon off my kneecap. They overdosed me on the wrong medication that caused my colon to perforate and eventually burst inside my abdomen, thereby causing extreme infections that actually caused my clinical death twice. I had to be shocked back to life. It's so wonderful to see all of the things you have accomplished and how beautiful and mature Nevaeh has become. You should have no problem winning parents of the Western US for the remarkable job that you have done!
That’s crazy that stuff like that still happens. I mean, people can make mistakes, but good gosh, that’s your life, your body and your overall health that they were messing with. I hope someone had to answer to those life threatening mistakes. So happy you survived it. Phew! Wishing you a speedy recovery! :)
It takes me back over 44 years when I was courting my boyfriend who is now my husband when we would bring in the bales from the fields for the cows on his family farm……The wall looks so beautiful,well done to you both once again.🥰

The wall looks great! Watching the young people slinging and stacking hay brought back memories, good and bad. We stacked our own hay for years. We didn’t have to pick it up from the field but try and unravel it from a wagon with side that the machine threw it into. It’s always nice to get help from friends. That could not have been easy to decide what color stone goes where yet you did it flawlessly and it looks Absolutely Gorgeous.... I am so sorry about Jeremy's hand, getting stung by wasps is the worst! Been there done that and it was an AWFUL EXPERIENCE... It reminds us of the power these tiny wasps have 😮 I am So Proud of Nevaehs friends for coming and helping out bailing the hay. That is Extremely hard work and requires a lot of strength and stamina to get the job done. God Bless them All🙏 The addition is looking Amazing and you and Jeremy should be so proud of yourselves. The accent wall was worth the work, it is beautiful. So nice to be able to call in some very strong young help. I remember Melissa and the family doing it the first year. Ludo is fitting right in with the family, Kenji would be proud of him. Try keeping meat tenderizer on hand, pour some in your hand, add some water to make a paste and put it over the hornet stings. It works!!! reduces the poison and swelling.. It is such a wonderful thing to see your new project coming to an end , I know you still have the siding to do, but the end is near. You all work so hard and I admire all of you. God Bless all of you
Jeremy and Melissa, how about this idea to make it the special event (Nivea moving into her COMPLETED apartment by/on her birthday) should be, as you yourselves had hoped. Simply wait to celebrate her birthday until the apartment's ready. What is more important to you, celebrate her birthday on the actual day OR celebrate it on the life changing event you're trying to give her....her own place (or ask Nivea herself......you may be surprised by her choice).

I love the wall ypi built. There is something my Dad taught me when I was young there is nothing like building your own stone wall that ads beauty to your home and or property inside or out. You never tire of it because it has so any faces that look back at you reminding you that hard work and dedication pays with beauty and long lasting accomplishment. Fabulous vlog as always. I miss our small holding and animals (especially the goats) in Buckinghamshire England, but we are now back in the North of England, in Yorkshire, gods own country, and right on the doorstep of the Peak District National Park. While the mountains aren’t as impressive as yours, it’s still beautiful. I miss our old way of life, but my husband has spondylosis of the spine and couldn’t do the grafting anymore. Enjoy it all while you can……especially now the children are getting bigger and stronger. I remember our four boys always being valued help in their teens.

I am in my mid 70s now and no family here anymore so also not practical. You are blessed with your large, young family around you. Long may you all support one another, so that even you can continue to enjoy the life you have chosen, in your old age.

Wow, this totally took me back 40 years when we had a farm in south-central Ohio. Hard work, good neighbors, and we returned the favor. So satisfying when the work was done. (Yeah, right...lol) After the loads of hay was in the barn, we went to the lake to cool off. So blessed

The wall looks wonderful! I love it! ❤ So will there be a second cutting for hay? Puppy sure getting big! Mushed up garlic on whasp, yellow jackets & bee stings. Really helps pull the venom out! It also helps take the pain away! Put the garlic on the sting spot, then a gaze square & rap it. I stepped on a wasps & got a full loud of venom. It was so painful for days I couldn't put any weight on my foot. We called are vet & asked them what we could do. That's what we did! Oh my God! It worked!

Awe the memories of “throwing a hay bales”, as said in the South. 63 now I get one to everyone else 3 or 4. But these days , most of the time Grandsons and their wives do most of the hard work and let me drive.
I look back to the time our family mowed and baled straw, and I see it as a blessing of working together for, like you said, getting ready for the next season. Our youngest was a girl about 5 years and worked along with us. Straw is much lighter than hay, so it was pretty easy for her to push and drop the bales off the top of the wagon into the barn. We would get one wagon unloaded then we'd all rehydrate in the shade of the big tree in the yard. What a great time! I look at you and your young family and almost I could slip back into that time in our families lives.

I like watching your show, and building a place for your daughter is very thoughtful and generous, and very fortunate for her. Isn't it also a great opportunity to have her pitch in and learn to do some of the work with you two, since it's going to be her place. It will teach her invaluable skills, and that she is more capable than she knows. Kind of like what you both have learned.
