We were invited to stay for 24 hours at Upper Deck Luxury Bed and Breakfast in Marazion, Cornwall. What would you do on a dream short stay in Cornwall?
Join us as we take a look around the luxurious and spacious accommodation. We also walk the South West Coast Path to Perranuthnoe, and sample a 'Proper Job' hot chocolate. Later, we eat at The Godolphin for our evening meal. After a relaxing, comfortable night, we visit St Michael's Mount. This was definitely a dream stay for us!

We are Sarah and Andrew and we film our walks around Cornwall and publish on RU-vid, usually weekly. Sometimes we stay in accommodation in Cornwall and upload our vlog. Sarah is fascinated by sea glass and likes to collect it so there may be the occasional sea glass video too. The channel is a hobby and we both have normal day jobs!

Most are still in print although some we pick up in charity shops, and may be available online secondhand. Please refer to the video for the book titles. Every video shows the book about three times. Sorry but we can’t put a link in every description.
Best time of year to visit Cornwall?
We love May, June for flora and fauna, July and September for spectacular scenery.
What is your dog’s name?
Sorry but we do not release the name of our dog, perhaps you can make up your own name for him.

Thank you for the lovely tour of the mount the b&b and the Godolphin Marazion brings back so many memories of staying with my aunt & uncle up the fore street when I was young they were the last of our cornish side of the family !! I've walked over to the mount many times and had to paddle back when the tides come in !!!!!t thanks again for keeping the memories alive

What a lovely video ❤️ My husband and I visited Marazion in 2018 on our trip to Cornwall from Connecticut. We absolutely loved St. Michael’s Mount and I’d say it was my husbands most favorite spot in Cornwall. We decided to stay in Marazion at least one or two nights the next time we visit so now we know the perfect b&b to book!

Wow, it all looked fabulous Sarah and Andrew...that accomodation is gorgeous and the food 👌😋💝. I would stay there in a shot, but unfortunately we don't go anywhere without our pooch and sadly they don't allow pets, but I totally understand why... it's spotless isn't it and perfect for a romantic getaway or for a special occasion 🙏. The Mount is so magical and who wouldn't want to wake up to that view 😍. Thanks again for a great review and interesting history as usual 😁💕😘

I've visited Marazion 3 or 4 times now and love it. I've also been up the Mount on most visits - heck of a climb but what a stunning view from the top and the castle itself is really interesting. Unfortunately my poor old joints protested so loudly after my last visit that I doubt I will be able to make that climb again :( I think I will be confined to re-watching this video and pouring over photos of my previous trips in future. I must say that the Upper Deck looked fabulous and the food wonderful - as did the food at the Godolphin. I also had a meal there on one of my stays some years back - lovely food and staff there. Certainly looked like you had a brilliant short stay in Marazion.

What a treat for you both. Looked fantastic. I have just read through the other comments on here and found one which resonated exactly how I am feeling as for the third time in a row due to illness (and this time petrol shortages as well to boot) we didn't make it down this week. However, the holiday place kindly transferred it to next year. Fourth time lucky maybe? So sad, as this week the weather was dry and warm all week too.......thank goodness your weekly videos keep my spirits up. It certainly looked the bizz there anyway & I see someone on here has already booked with them, so they will benefit as well. Even Andrew, as a seasoned Cornishman, got it wrong with the scone I see! I love Marazion, but only stayed there once, for a few nights back in the early 1970s. Your accommodation looks a lot more luxurious than mine. Mine was a sleeping bag on the beach! But the view was lovely in the mornings. Many thanks!

What a fabulous stay in the ‘Upper Deck’ B&B. such amazing attention to detail, you showcased it beautifully Sarah, trust Andrew to get the butter instead of Cream 😂 an easy mistake, where was the Cornish Cream! All the food on your short stay looked so moorish specially at the ‘Godolphin’ it must be fifty years since i visited ‘St.Michaels Mount’ with my late husband, wonderful memories, thank you 🙏 Sarah and Andrew for a short stay in Marazion, and the very professional and amusing commentary, Andrew never lets us down! 👍🤗🤩

@@CornishWalkingTrails I’m still giggling Sarah, I’ve never had a Devon Cream Scone without clotted cream! there was no sign of it, it wasn’t in the little fridge was it! I bet Andrew was a bit disappointed ☹️ unless you had to ask for it! the rest of the food looked amazing 🤩 indeed that’s one to remember, that’s the sort of thing that would have happened to my husband so Andrew is not on his own! no disrespect but I don’t think our menfolk are as observant as us ladies, although he is on the ball usually, we’ll just call it a case of the disappearing cream 😂🤣😂🤣sorry can’t help it! 🤗 Agatha Christy would have a ball with this case!!

Hi,Always with your videos although live in penzance.my mum ran Britain's hse as a b&b in the early 90s,used to be dining room down stairs .mums dog used to sneak in if not watched .lovely memories for me with my daughter.used to sleep in attic rm.my stepdad converted it.

@@paulelliott4630 hi thank-you for your message,the hse looks fantastic now,my stepdad was a carpenter,he used a shed at the back.he also put the grills on front windows.mum ran it from 1988 to about 1993,think my daughter has visitor book somewhere,we also have photographs of rooms dining room,5hey slept in the little rm on the side in the summer.fish out photos next time over marazion pop thro letterbox.

Good to see you two trialling & enjoying a luxury B&B treat again after lockdown ~ very well deserved! It looks fantastic! ~ what a gorgeous place to stay...love it that the owners have kept the traditional features, yet with a modern twist ~ a perfect combo. The last time I climbed up the wonderful St Michael's Mount 8 yrs ago, I said a few prayers in the chapel, and then got blown off my feet when coming out (God moves in mysterious ways). I was literally lifted off my feet and thrown!...by the wind?

Oh yes, the gusts can be overwhelming if you are not braced for them! We found it was stronger at the bottom of the Mount, around the harbour than at the top which made no sense really! Sarah :)

Man I loved St.Micheals Mount when I went on a trip with my Year 5 class in primary school. The history to that place is amazing and, Andrew your The Giants Well joke had me in stitches. Our hogs pudding is made by a local butcher - Vivian Olds from St Just. Its lovely and spicy - not at all like black pudding and our guests love it. Hope you can stay to sample breakfast time. Paul & Alison

Sarah and Andrew what a lovely video. So welcome to see but with a touch of sadness as this week and last week should have been our 2 week annual holiday to my beloved Cornwall but my younger son was taken very ill and so we had to cancel. Loved the video, shed a tear but hopefully will be back as soon as things settle themselves down. It was a lovely place where you stayed. Made me smile to see Andrew so excited about the lovely food. ❤️

Snap.....I,too ,for the third year in a row have had to cancel our trip to Cornwall due to illness each time (with the petrol shortages as an add-on this time too). Sigh. Have re-booked for the 4th time for next year. Fingers crossed eh?....

Very nice, but I checked the website and they charge £135 per night... ouch! I really don't feel I could justify spending this on a B&B, a hotel perhaps yes.

Hi Jonny - I think you'd find the welcome and experience we provide is much more personal than most hotels. We are also less pricey than the hotels in Marazion and on a par with other B&B's.
