Lol, CDawg and Connor are his 2 names, just one is his RU-vid username lol. So you got it right. While at the time I didn't find it embarrassing, I cringe at the Sailor Moon fanfic stories I came up with in High School because I made ME Sailor Moon lol. I don't know what I was thinking (I did like the artwork, that's the only thing I liked lol). Yeah though I never had to worry about being called a 'weeb' per say. No idea why either since I am older than you and the people in this video. I definitely loved anime before I even knew it was called that. I just knew it looked vastly different from my 80s cartoons. First anime show I ever saw was Voltron Force, it air on Cartoon network I think. Also 2 movies based on the char Unico aired too and my aunt record those for me since I am an avid unicorn fan, even from back then. Btw, this was in the 80s lol. 2nd anime show I saw was Ronin Warriors and that's when I heard it was called anime. No idea on how it got aired on primetime tv since at the time my family had no cable. THEN I heard about Sailor Moon (saw a commercial ad for Sailor Moon themed shoes for it) my freshman year of high school (1996) and it first got aired in the US in primetime tv my sophomore year, before Toonami picked it up. During my junior year of high school my family got Satellite (and we've had it ever since). Sailor Moon is the show that turned me into an Otaku. I would watch Toonami and watch DBZ. Other anime in the late 90s I would hear about and try to watch, was Escaflowne, Tenchi Muyo (OVA), Fushigi Yuugi, Pokemon, and Digimon. I was very lucky that I never got exposed to "anything adult" until I was 18 lol. Like there were movies like Dirty Dancing that my mom had me go into the other room, saying "A bad scene was coming up" lol. Granted I did learn about the 'birds and the bees" in the 5th grade at school, but it was very generic. I started reading romance novels at 18 and I was genuinely not 'getting it' at first until it dawned on me that the main couple were 'getting it on' lol. My poor little conservative mind was like, "They're not even married yet!" lol. I actually didn't hear about "Adult Anime" until I was in my early 20s too. Didn't look it up until my mid-20s. So yeah I am glad I learned things the 'normal' way haha. I never went to an anime con until I was 30 lol. And I was able to go through volunteering and I loved it. Other than the past few years because of Covid, I've gone to my local anime con ever since. So happy to be going back this year. It's my mini-vacation for myself even though I do volunteer. Glad you enjoyed this video hehe.
