How salvage title says rebuildable?

Damn I'm thinking of buying back my 2013 passat from the insurance but this looks like a headache just to get a rebuilt title.

Hey thanks for the video. I’m thinking about buying back my Toyota sienna minivan from the insurance company so that’s why I watched your video. I have a few questions for you. I’m not sure of the circumstances that you had with your car. Will they allow you to drive your car to the DMV to get it inspected once all the paperwork goes through or do you need to get it towed there? What type of title did you have? Was it a rebuildable title? Any thing else you can think of would be greatly appreciated. I can tell it’s going to be a pain in the butt if I do this but I think I can get another hundred thousand miles out of it so I think it’s worth it. Thanks again, Joe

Hey guys, great video! Thank you! I have a question about the physical inspection. I am wondering what that is all about. Is it only checking road worthiness, and safety items? What I mean is, if I had parts replaced (no airbags deployed), but did not have the paintwork done, or still have dents in the fender or doors, will that fail? I have a 2016 Audi A4 Premium Plus, and it drives amazing. But, I still have not finished getting cosmetics done on some portions of the vehicle. Do I need to have it 100% finished? Or will it pass as long as it drives well, has all lights, blinkers, solid wheels, tires, seat belts, etc. And all airbags are still 100% operational? Thank you for any insight you can provide!

Can you repair it yourself or does the work have to be done by a shop. I have fixed this same car twice when my sister hit the frond end. Same type of damage now but was hit by somebody else and the guy at fault insurance will declare it a total loss if we go ahead with the claim. Also we have owned the car since brand new (well dad has it's his car). Car has no frame damage...and was driveable from the accident to our house....

What are they looking for during the inspection. If I had some welds done on a bracket can I go ahead and put primer over the fresh beads before they start rusting ? Nice job on your post . .

I moved here from New Mexico with a car that with a salvage title. It was rebuilt in New Mexico, registered, insured and on the road for 5 years. I had no idea I was going to have to go through this process to get a Florida title. I have been down there 3 times already (same field office.) Their website has no information. I can't get a real person on the phone. Their hours say they're open until 5pm but when you get there, they are only taking paperwork until 3pm. They don't have the right forms online but then want you to wait 1.5 hours to get called up only to be handed an application and told to come back another day and wait hours to turn it into them, in the hopes everything is right and you won't have to come an unknown number more times. What they say they need is not what they ask you for, or they add details. I bought my car rebuilt so I don't know if after all of this they will actually give it a title, since I don't have receipts. I didn't need any of this is New Mexico. I can see why they get yelled at- this entire process makes no sense and requires more time and travel than most people invest in buying a home. I would have left my car in NM if I had any idea what I would go through here.

None of these rebuilt titles mentions anything about getting insurance before the rebuild title

What do the exactly inspec, cause I'll do the same but I don't now if it's necessary to fix de Air Bag System, everything I done just that light that is On

That same inspection office is the same one I use. I’m lucky I only live two miles away from there. I did an inspection in AZ and passed after buying my car from Copart the car I bought was side swiped, but none of the electrical was touched. So much easier than here in Florida 🤬.

What if you don’t have salvage yard receipts? I literally got my shit off Facebook marketplace :/ fuck bro

Wow! What a headache. When you buy a salvage car over 5 years old in NC it's automatically rebuilt. Jeez.
