Yup, both deviled eggs and the brussel sprouts are a staple on our Easter table as well back here in Europe (Slovakia). We eat them as a side dish along potato salad made with home made mayonnaise with cooked smoked pork loin stuffed with spicy sausage mix. Already went to my favourite butcher and did the shopping, as Easter is one of the times I visit my parents and my two aunts, my cousin, his wife and their two sons will be there too and we are going to bring out the big family table and have ourselves a proper feast. My grandma used to cook a recipe similar to the scalopped taters for us kids when we visited in summer for the holidays, tastes just as good cold, as it does hot!

Just what I needed. Thanks Kent and Shannon. I hope that you and yours have a wonderful Easter. Hugs to you and all your woobits. Edit: Omg Kent, I just realized that you put Deviled Ham into those eggs. I was raised eating it (and not really liking it, as a kid) and about once a year now, I crave it like crazy until I go and buy a can. My husband swears he hates it, but I'm going to see if he notices it in deviled eggs. I'll bet he loves it. I'll make some regular just in case. But I'd put money on it being a hit.

I think that Rabbit should be the main course for Easter dinner. We have Thanksgiving turkey and Christmas ham, so we need something different for Easter. Rabbit makes sense. And I even have a backstory for the tradition. After hiding all his eggs, the Easter bunny goes into the pot so he can't tell anyone where he's hidden them. 🐰🐰🐰

Boil water, then remove from heat, slowly introduce eggs then return to boil for 2-3 minutes then cover and remove from heat and let sit for 20min. Perfect every time regardless of age! Our Thanksgiving Brussell's Sprouts recipe is EASY. Coat halved sprouts in olive oil and salt. Cook 20-40 minutes till done (I just watch them). While you watch toast up a couple handfuls of walnuts in a frying pan until fragrant. When sprouts are done mix with walnuts. Coat the whole beautiful mess with Pomegranate Molasses (Yup, find it at a International food shop).Platter it up and sprinkle with some fresh pomegranate seeds to make it pretty. Bless and enjoy!

Ken and Shan I have the best Brussels Sprouts recipe on the planet. Do the same as Ken does as far as cleanining them and halving them. Then pour a little olive oil over them and braise them in the oven at 375 degrees for about 15 mins. Then take a mixture of half gruyure cheese and minced cooked bacon with a small amount of minced garlic and pour over all the sprouts. Continue cooking at 375 for another 10-15 mins and then take em out and slowly drizzle some warm Hollandaise sauce over them and serve. You will be the hero of the dinner I guarantee!😎👍👍

Nice to see you and the white dog warming up to each other @ 9:20. Happy Easter Rollins' Family. thanks for your wonderful videos. Simple BS recipe. Rinse a pound of sprouts. Cut off the stem end to get rid of any brown. Cut large ones in half. Small ones you just trim off the stem end. In a stainless bowl (I use a 3 quart) put the trimmed sprouts in and drizzle some good olive oil over the sprouts, grind some fresh pepper and Kosher salt over them. Sprinkle a tiny bit of garlic powder on them. NO NEED TO OVERSEASON. Now toss the sprouts in the bowl (like you're flipping an omelet) until they are generally covered in the oil. No need to over oil the sprouts have moisture in them that will help roast them in the oven or Dutch oven. Pre-heat your oven to 425 or something equivalent in your Dutch. Put the seasoned and oiled sprouts on a sheet tray (if in you house oven ) or do similar in your video. NO NEED for too much oil or butter that might burn. Cook for 20 min, thought you can vary the cooking time by 5 min or so if the largest isn't tender enough for your taste. Pull the sprouts. Let them cool a little. Take a serving or two (a pound should be 3-4 servings). put them BACK IN THE stainless bowl that still has a little oil and seasoning in it. NO NEED TO OVER SEASON. Grate a little lemon zest over the top of the bowl of sprouts and then TOSS just like you did before. All you are trying to do is get a little zest mixed in with the residual oil in the bowl to lightly coat the cooked sprouts. You may add a little lemon juice into the bowl before tossing if you want a stronger hint of lemon. Now plate the tossed sprouts. Sprinkle FRESH grated Italian Parmigiano Reggiano on the plated sprouts. Doesn't take much if you use the REAL DEAL rather than the fake parmigiana. Eat. Very subtle taste with the lemon and the parm. You can easily save leftovers and when you want to eat them, put a serving or two in a skillet drizzle a little oil in the skillet and lightly sauté until warmed. Plate as before and sprinkle with REAL parm. You can also drizzle a little good balsamic vinegar or even better a tiny bit of balsamic syrup (just reduced balsamic vinegar). Huge flavor so don't over do it. Excellent side dish with just about anything and quick to make and great to save and have as leftovers.

Here‘s my favorite brussel sprouts recipe: cut them up like you did and marinate them in equal parts of honey, balsamic vinegar (its best to use the creamy version if available it‘s a bit sweeter) and olive oil. Season them with salt and pepper and put them in the oven or airfryer for about 30min at 200C or 400F. I bet it‘s even better in your castiron skillet😍 Greetings from germany🫶🏼

My memories of Brussels sprouts from my youth are similar to yours. Boiled, smelly, mushy. My mom loved them, with a little butter. I choked down as few as possible. In my adult years, I discovered deep fried, bacon-grease fried or roasted, with plenty of bacon, onions, and garlic goodness. These sprouts actually taste good prepared these ways-- mellow, crunchy, and full of delicious flavor, with all the boiled-cabbage nightmare nastiness cooked out of them! I also have fond memories of scalloped potatoes. Both my grandmothers made their own delicious version, but both were tender, rich and creamy, and topped with a crust of cheese and buttered breadcrumbs. Yum!

The lumbering was made mostly in the cold north canadian winter because there was no biting bugs around, it was easier to cut the trees without there leaves on, and in the old times there where no routs and the wood was cut near rivers to make big rafts and floating the cuts to those sawmills. So you had floating kitchen on rafts and tents quarters for the mens. My grandpa, my mom's dad was a lumberjack. Food was rich in calories to sustain the mens work. Lots of beans, lards, bacons, potatoes, carrots, sometimes cabbages...Spring is almost here and with it "Easter". This easter sunday my mon is going to cook a traditional maple ham with caramelized carrots and creamy milked mashed potatoes and for desert a "pudding chomeur", a simple comforting typical québécois hot desert. I really like your show and i'm hitting the road next summer on a 10 months across Canada and the USA.

Brussel Sprouts cooked in bacon grease was my introduction to the veggie! Now I love them in most fried or roasted forms! I like roasting them in the oven along with sliced bell peppers, both drizzled in olive oil. Then I'll mix the veggies with some quinoa and mix in some sesame oil, sesame seeds, and salt to taste. Of course, cooked with bacon is still a winner too! ^_^

I have chickens, and for the past 11 years, I have steamed my eggs for ease of peeling. 😊

Brussels sprouts. My absolute, all time, favourite vegetable. My husband hates food. He eats to fill a hole. Even he'll eat sprouts! Apart from potato, it's about the only vegetable he will eat. They have to be steamed though. I do them in a freezer bag, with a splash of water, in the microwave. Never boil. They turn to mush and taste terrible. I've never had them roasted like that though. I will definitely be trying that. Maybe not with the bacon, despite loving bacon, but I really loved the look of that crispiness. Those eggs looked absolutely delicious too!
