Really? No Quiet? She's an absolute pain in the ass to use in the beginning, but once you unlock her silenced tranq rifle she can wipe out outposts all by herself and all BB gets to do is fulton up the mess.
swiftydy exactly as I predicted, quiet is beyond cheap as hell. I knew from the demos she was OP with almost no visible weakness. Really think they should have rethought that
+Officer Dank Kush Lord None of the support buddies have weaknesses, they're not meant to or they'd be annoying to have around all the time. Quiet is the most versatile though
+吴若冲 yeah shes really great have her fire at will and just sneak up behind enemies you wipe out outposts so easily. I hated her at first but shes amazing now. And oh yeah don't forget to switch your emblem to the butterfly or you'll lose her in part 2 and her side mission will be locked.
Garawra I mean weaknesses in the sense that it's ridiculous to have them do an excessive amount. If your side kick is literally doing more than half the work for you, then it's not balanced
Anyone else going to play the entire game as a sneaky bastard with the sneaking suit, a silenced pistol and maybe a silenced smg for backup? I prefer the proper spy approach
1evanc Well just going shirtless and not showering counts. I don't know if there's as much of a survival aspect in this like there was in MGS 3 with the hostile animals and the healing thing.
+1evanc i am playing complete stealthy bro. The option to go commando came later in the newer metal gears. Those were garbage to me. Metal gear is about sneaking and not even letting them kno u were ever there. metalgear 1 2 and 3 are the best ones. 4 was garbage. all the others including the psp one was hot garbage those are not metal gear. these kids getting on here with sniper are really missing out on the fun of sneaking around not being seen or heard them never knowing u were ever there. thats what metal gear is. i enjoy this one cause it gives u the option but originally on metal gear ur never suppose to be seen ever. ill restart the mission if im discovered no matter if im almost done with it.
Quiet can take out an entire outpost and you don't even need to give her a silenced weapon. I actually prefer her being loud because then everyone is distracted at her and not me.
But see the AR is just for in case, like finishing sameone. Don´t use it that much but if there´s a soldier with shitty stats, I´ll prefer all right killing him rather waste my precious tranq or stun ammo of my sniper and smg.
I Am The Law Maybe it's just me, but I find I die instantly if I try to go guns blazing, and if I do stealth-kill then I don't have enough recruits for my MB.
cannonfodder343 Just scan for A/A+ and higher, fulton them and clear the rest of the camp. Fastest way for me is to use Quiet, and have her sit on her scouting spot, and then you try to sit on the opposite side so the camp or the enemies are in between the two of you. Then start picking them off with Quiet. When it's clear you can take your time and fulton every vehicle/gun/container and check the houses for loot/blueprints.
Is there a way to have a "naked" loadout? No weapons, no items, just the clothes on your back? It'd be cool to free-roam and have to procure everything in the field.
Later on there are substinence missions where you get no outside help or any starting items besides your hand, you could just free roam instead of doing mission I guess
+Eddiethenotsogreat Later in the game (Chapter 2), there are 2 Subsistence missions which force you to truly adopt the OSP principle to accomplish the mission. But for the meantime, it's nearly impossible to go true-OSP for free-roaming and for normal missions, because by the normal means, you must equip at least 1 single Primary Weapon and 1 Sidearm. Or you can just download and use the Infinite Heaven mod, which allows you to modify your preferred playstyles at will whenever you deploy, but be cautious and use at your own risk :D.
+Jason winters you mean the missions where you have to eliminate certain vehicles? Just sneak up on them and fulton em straight out man. Noone will ever know you were there. They'll just be putting a bounty on some soldiers heads :D
I always go with my souped up AM MRS 4 with an underbarrel grenade launcher and double scope extension, a silenced tranquilizer sniper the Tranq pistol, the rocket arm and a couple of grenade types and of course, the all important cardboard box, works like a charm nearly every mission.
+aram442 its been years and years and years since i last played that, and two college degree's haha. if im not mistaken didnt he get shot in the eye by a bullet that was meant for EVA? It's actually something i am confused about. MGS/MGS2/MGS4 was solid snake and MGS3 was Big Boss so why the hell is big boss still blind? In MGS5 you play as big boss who "should" have both his eyes. Unless he is just wearing the patch for better vision? ( i remember someone saying that was the reason why MGS3 Big Boss wore the eyepatch). And if this is a prequel wouldn't all of that happened later in his life? I just dont understandddddddddd
+TacticalSandals MGS3 is the prequel, not MGSV, if that's what you're thinking. Someone's eye doesn't just come back after being shot. The eye patch is to cover up the poor eye, that's all.
+TacticalSandals yeah, in mgs 3, Snake lost his eye (short-version and also potentially spoilers if you haven't played the game) because Ocelot is trying to uncover Eva by playing a sorta 3-gun, single-player russian roulette mixed with juggling, and so Snake tries to interfere to stop her from getting killed, and in doing that basically gets shot by Ocelot, blinding him. Throughout the rest of the game, and the series, Big Boss is blind. Portable Ops was a sequel to MGS3, and then Peace Walker was a sequel to Portable Ops. MGSV is a sequel to Peacewalker. MGSV gets closer to closing the chronology gap between Big Boss and Solid Snake's timelines.
currently my favorite loadouts is to go all nonlethal, i can be as quiet or as loud as i want, and when all the enemies are down, i can farm them for good troops. Primary weapon: UN-ARC-NL (STN rifle) Back weapon: RENOV-ICKX TP (ZZZ sniper rifle) Secondary weapon: Riot SMG (suppressed stun gun) Prosthesis: Rocket Arm (for the lels, ranged stun) this loadout paired with quiet and one of her tranquilizer rifles is excellent at taking down outposts while at the same time guaranteeing high level troop fultons.
+Shawn Nova To be honest you don't have to be a good gamer to enjoy games. I understand your point, but not everyone is as good as you at the thing you're especially good at. Doesn't mean you should go around hating.
I really haven't used the robot yet because I've been working on getting the bond maxed on the 3 others. Have two at 100 and the horse is at around 90, so I'll be giving it a go soon.
What's the point of the choices of going loud or quiet when you lose heroism for being seen or Killin someone. it like splinter cell you can go loud and kill people but you lose points for doing it.
I hate the idea of the sneaking suit though, at night the colour is good but you stick out like a sore thumb in daylight. Also the guards would see you easy because of your silhouette, as in the human brain detects human shapes so the suit shouldn't be skintight but rather it should have a tight suit but a sort of torn cloth similar to a ghillie suit to reduce the visible silhouette.
Suppressed mrs4 with red dot scope dual mags and grip Tranquilizer and a suppressed tranq sniper. DDog with stun knife. Active decoy Sleep grenades stun grenades gas mines. I love Quiet but she is way to easy to use .
You mean the section where you can add new camo's and attachments to your guns right? You unlock that by a side op mission after Episode 14, in the side op you need to rescue a legendary weapon smith. After that it will be unlocked.
+TheManiacGamer You have to do it 3 times. Every time you get in the chopper after doing the side op, you'll be informed it's not the right guy and just his apprentice.
protip: use up/down d-pad buttons in iDroid map to have Quiet scout an outpost and permanently mark enemies, or select a specific sniping position for her to attack from (preferably, on the opposite side of your approach. Use silenced tranq sniper rifle for best effect.
Question: If you extract a target the first time you play a mission he is added to your staff. If I play the mission again and kill the target, will he be removed from my staff? The easiest example I can think of is "A Hero's Way" I extracted the guy the first time but I want to go back and do the mission really quick and kill him to get S rank. Thank you!
Nothing beats the water pistol, there's nothing quite like hiding in a box awaiting an enemy to investigate when suddenly you burst out and squirt water in their face then knock them out with the Bionic arm :P
Tranq pistol, tranq sniper rifle, rubber slug double barrel, all sorts of grenades, sneaking suit and my best bud, D-Dog, with his pretty white fur and badass patch.
i just made a hybrid loadout and i,m having fun with it . loadout is any of snakes regular outfits or sneak suit sleep pistol . assault rifle . anti matter sniper rifle and no buddy even tho i love d-dog
Although I wanna buy this,I do no want to play a game just for gameplay without understanding its true lore and the story.Imma have to read and know everything about the series so far and then hopefully get into this.
He looks thick in the sneaking suit because of the aramid weave put into it I thought it was funny at first too but it didn't take me that long to piece it together :P
This right here is the type of gameplay I wish I could play without stressing out about how much GMP I'm wasting, it looks like mindless fun with super upgraded gear.
When will I be able to have an Intel team? Just finished mission 5 so I am not far, but does the Intel team unlock later in the game or am i missing something? I need it for upgrading my weapons sooo..
It is just me or someone else notice that in MGS 4, when the original Snake (Big Boss) appers in the ending he dosnt have the scars and horn or even the mechanic arm of his in this prequel game, that a major error of continuetion by Kojima.
+Marcos Farias In the ending of MGS4, Big Boss explains that that isn't his real body. He has remade a body using parts from the bodies of Solidus and Liquid. I hope this helps!
just wondering, i saw those AI develop as we game thru. helmets if we headshot, body armor if we shooting lethal round, NVG as we come at nighttime, some dummy decoy, full body armor either! what if we kept d-walker bot as buddy rampaging every outpost in game. will they counter with walker gear too? it would be awesome if yes them snatch em all for farming gmp...
10:00 fun fact you can evace a mission by ballooning a big box and holding on to the balloon like merry popins dont remember the button for ps4 tho sorry. but its the fastest way to leave a mission
They really could replace that ISANDO grenade launcher with the magazine fed one. I hate having to reload that 6 rounder; magazine is obviously so much easier.
