This is going to sound like a lie but from the first moment I saw Ember I knew he was something special. I did not know it would take two years to prove it! That’s really not unusual though. So much to love! Dressage was wonderful. Not quite sure it was a 23 but obviously the judge was as enamored with him as I am! Show jumping was perfect! That boy can jump! Cross country? OMG! There were times I thought he was going to explode! The key is that he didn’t. That is a testimony to both you and Justine! Justine’s tears melted me. She is so proud of you both! I cannot believe your little racehorse with a heart as big as Secretariat (and a stride too it looked like) did such a beautiful job. Congratulations to you, Justine and of course the star of the day, Ember!

Seeing Justine getting emotional just goes to show how much she invests in your partnership and believes in you 🥹🥲 we love to see it!

What an achievement for all involved! Well done Lucy and Ember. Listening to the commentary from the cross country it sounds like everyone there was a fan of ex racehorses - was so nice to hear. The commentary about the dressage judge and score had me cracking up! Regardless, be proud of it. You have both come such a long way and thanks for taking us on the journey.

My goodness. What a result. He’s going to fly the metre classes. And boy can he gallop. That has taken so much kind effort to allow him this change of life. Wonderful.

Ember is moving so much better. Remembering him a few years ago...he's both visibly more developed in his body and much more "together" in his action. Using his hindquarter much more; that would be why the judge gave you those nice marks. Showjumping...."interesting." Justine's comments also. Cross-country start...he's running like a Quarter Horse sprinting, not like a T-bred...come ON, Ember. (Not your fault.) He really likes you off his back--the only time he put his head down and you didn't have to hold really hard. (When I was a kid, I got to ride a QH racing mare a few times. It's all snatchy...not a four-beat but 2 + 2, really rough but the acceleration is a blast.) He looked *gorgeous* on most of the fences, and you certainly don't have to worry about napping now. What an elegant, beautiful, and FAST fellow he is. Thanks for sharing.
