Today we are going to experience our first ever port days as we go through the Norweign fjords on our first cruise adventure!
🛳️ Our first port stop takes us to Stavanger to explore some fascinating Iron Age and Viking history.
🛳️ Then it's time to head to Olden, one of the most beautiful Norweign fjord port towns
🛳️ Before sailing away on an emotional farewell party 🎉

Also, fun fact! The guy who made KitKat came to Norway, had some Kvikk Lunsj and loved it so much he made KitKat when he got back home!

The supreme chocolate in Norway is MOKKATRØFFEL, according to my taste. It isn't everywhere, though.

Why did I well up - when everyone was waving flags saying goodbye :( this was soooo beautiful those mountains were breath taking ! My hubby would love this after getting his DNA results and finding Viking in his his veins ha ha ha

Ok, the flag waving got me. I'm bawling. And reading these comments, I can see I'm not the only one. 😭I lived in Arhus, Denmark for many years (I'm an american from Vegas!) and you both would love it there. You def should go! They have an event called the Moesgård Viking Moot and it starts off the festival week by the Vikings arriving by boat to the land and they have a battle re-enactment! It was amazing to watch. Also the design in Denmark will have you so inspired!

We did this cruise and loved it! My husband swam in the glacier lake on the bus tour and the spot where you had your sarnie :) it’s got a sign saying that it is the smallest beach in Europe.

Love this! I’ve been on many cruises but only to the Caribbean and Mexico (I’m in the US), but never a P&O. We’ve cruised Disney, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival. I’m hoping to do a similar cruise, a Baltic Sea cruise, with my daughter next summer. She’s graduating high school next year and wanted to create one last mom/daughter moment before she leaves for university. Thanks for always sharing your travels - I’m a longtime follower. ❤️

Nothing wrong with the Baltic but the ultimate is the Norwegian coast with Hurtigruten; rather expensive though.

In norwegian it is called Blåveis i do not know what it is called in English but the scientific name of it is Hepatica nobilis so that should make it possible for you to figure it out hopefully.

Yes the Kit Kat is called a “quick lunch”. People take them skiing or hiking along with a soda and an apple I believe.

Yes "KVIKKLUNSJ" = quick lunch. Traditionally taken when skiing over long distances, with some oranges.

Very interesting how the Viking longhouse looked very similar to the Indigenous Canadian longhouses we have replicas of here in Ontario, Canada - well the inside anyway, not the outside as our Indigenous peoples did not build with stone and sod. Norway- wow, such beauty!!

I am really enjoying this series. I have never been on a cruise 🚢 and found myself researching prices. Japan first then a cruise. The views were incredible Norway looks lovely. I loved the flag waving so emotional. I am going to get back to watching this video for the second time.

I loved Stavanger and the cute little coloured houses and cobbled streets so so pretty. We’ve been twice on Iona to the Fjords and saw the northern lights which were absolutely stunning. Takes me back seeing it all again, I could do this one over and over! 🥰
