Prior to this garden, I had never grown anything in the ground… a few plants in pots last year was all the experience I had with growing our own food.
This year was a year of learning and growth in our small garden.
I hope you enjoy this realistic first garden tour and it inspired you to try something new… even knowing it won't be perfect at first.

You both are doing Great!!! Enjoy watching you guys learn so quickly. From a disabled Nana passed 60 now, whom Gardened big time in my day. Plus raised, cattle, sheep & foul. A hint on your Watermelon, keep the vine on the ground for the Watermelon will become to heavy as it grows to hang off that cage. You can let it attach to the bottom of cage to keep wind from destroying it. Next year try this dig a well ring around your Watermelon, any melons, cucumbers an ditch water them. Newspapers topped with grass clippings make cheap mulch to keep the ground damp. So much to learn & your both quick learners. Keep it up!!! Best of All from Kansas
