Tbilisi, the capital city of the country of Georgia, is a stunning city in the heart of Eurasia with major European vibes. In today’s video, we travel from Turkey to Georgia and share with you our first impressions of Tbilisi as we explore the city on foot, visiting its churches, monuments, markets, and viewpoints! Founded as a major city after mineral hot springs were discovered in it, Tbilisi (“warm place”) gets really hot in the summer, but that doesn’t stop people from enjoying Abanotubani (the famous sulfur hot springs)! In addition to brief escapes into urban nature at the Leghvtakhevi Canyon and Waterfall, you can see stunning views of this hilly city from Queen Darejan Palace, Metekhi St. Virgin Church, or the Narikala Fortress and take a look at the different facades as you walk around the city streets. And don’t forget to check out the religious and historical sites of the city, including the Holy Trinity Cathedral, the Sioni Cathedral, and the abandoned Karmir Aveteran Armenian Cathedral. We also talk about different ways to get around the city without breaking the bank!
