It always takes my breath away how cheap gas in in the US. It's currently over $7.50 a gallon in the UK.

So apparently a gallon is 3.7 litres. Here in Australia I though petrol was pretty bad at the moment. It would work out to be about $6 AUD a gallon. I hate calling it 'gas' when it's a liquid haha.

@@lauralenau590 same in UK and maybe Australia - UK is Petrol shortened from petroleum. Here it's currently £1.50 a litre so x 3.7 and convert into dollars is around $6.30 a gallon. But we have free healthcare at the point of delivery, tonnes and tonnes of PTO, dental, 8 bank Holidays, living wage of $12 etc, so we pay more for fuel.

Top tip. Use paper plates and paper bowls INSIDE/ON TOP of the camper plates and bowls. You achieve stability and cutting surface yet throw away and no washing up! It works well. Buy super cheap paper plates too.

Ziptop silicon pouches are THE BEST for RV leftovers. They are super flexible, no lids to find or lose, and seal nicely. Just a little suggestion for storing leftovers in your fridge. I like the kind that stand open with a wide mouth for easy filling ☺️. So happy you guys are finally on the road!

That ‘goulash’ looks really good. For the RV either keep some collapsible containers. Or just a stack of old cottage cheese or yogurt containers and a zip lock bag of lids. Or just some ziplock baggies if you don’t mind it has no real structure. I always keep a gallon sized ziplock with various sizes of ziplocks inside it. Cuz when I camp I love leftovers. Lol. You look like your having fun in clementine

Nice to see that old camper providing shelter once again. Check out Boondockers Welcome, affiliated with Harvest Homes. A tip for increasing efficiency: A full freezer is more efficient. If I'm unable to fill mine with food items I use homemade blocks of ice( in old peanut butter jars). The same principle holds true with the fridge, too.

Fridge tip. To maximum energy usage and cold storage, always keep something solid in your freezer space, whether a bag of ice, hot dogs, insulated cold packs, etc. because otherwise you’re using more energy to keep the empty space cold, which wants to heat up with the air exchange when you open it. When freezer is filled with solid frozen stuff, it doesn’t need to cycle so much to keep it cold. Because it already is. Jelli on the cider. Where I live on the grated Nashville are, it’s a cider desert! Best you can get at a pub is angry orchard! Eric, are you purposely dressing to match the RV, with your OG corduroy brown jacket and orange t shirt? Haha. It looks like the 70s ALL OVER!

Always remember that your back end swings out when you turn so leave room for that. My husband almost took out the cement post by the gas pump our first time filling up. I love how Clementine turned out! ❤

I always chuckle when Americans complain about gas prices. If I paid that to fill up I'd be so happy. My fill up was $130 AUD ($95USD) in a 4WD yesterday. Happy travels adventurers. Love your camper😍

$44.00 is £32.00 here in the UK. It costs me around £45.00 (about $60) to fill my little Peugeot 108. To fill a Coachman like yours would be easily the equivalent of well over $100+ I would guess!!

I just paid £80 ($108) to fill a BMW 3 series with diesel. That was at the cheapest garage I could find..... So I'd guess £105 to £120 to fill Clementine! 😯

Water conservation tip. When doing dishes, fill the sink with a bit of clean water. Then wash them in a collapsible tub (we got ours at ALDI) of soapy water outside (or inside on your counter) and then rinse off in the clean water in your sink. This will keep grease and other chunky bits from going down the drain and clogging it or making it stanky.

You guys totally need the ice cube trays with lids, and get zip lock bags for your leftovers, they will take up far less space then containers.

You could put the tray in the freezer first and then fill a bottle with water and then fill the tray.

We love the overall look of the interior of Clementine! The outside looks great too. It is very cool that that the outside is so original (mostly) and you step inside and it’s not what you expected. It is truly a one of a kind gem. I think that the fact that you are new to the whole RV thing gave you an edge to come up with a scheme that was so unique and good looking. We like the dining bar you have up against the window the most. I do all my own maintenance and repairs on our toy hauler so I know first hand how hard some of that stuff you did can be. We have done the Harvest Host thing one time at a winery in Southern Indiana with a five star restaurant and it was awesome. We had the whole place to ourselves and our four dogs at night. We hope you do another renovation. Maybe do a toy hauler? The open concept floor plan has endless possibilities. You would have to get a tow vehicle though. We have been rv’ers for about 20 years. Check out Campendium and the Dyrt for campsite possibilities. Those come in handy for when the State Parks, National Parks are full. Come visit us in Indianapolis. Cheers. Rick and Mary Jo

We are full timers and love Harvest Hosts. We have stayed in wineries and multiple farms. Our girls have helped collect eggs and dig up potatoes. It has been a great experience.

You both are adorable to watch. The secret to camping for the weekend is prep and grill. Make salads before you go; tuna, chicken, seafood, green and Grill your meat. That’s pretty easy cleanup. Can’t wait to watch where you go in the camper.

Glad to see you out and about at last. I have a number of friends who live aboard Narrowboats on the UK canals. Narrowboats are usually 7 foot wide and 60 foot long. Live-aboard cruisers can either stay in marinas, for a fee with water and electricity hook ups and laundrettes, or on the canal bank for up to 14 days without moving on. They are continuously looking for mooring spots where the trees did not stop the solar panels from getting free power, also their site usually require good Cellnet access.

You may want to consider reusable ice cubes. Like the stone (whiskey ice) or steel ones. That way you won’t have water spilling in your freezer over and over and building up

Had a little smile to myself at the 'exorbitant' fuel price in America. Here in the UK we pay £1.40+ for petrol and over £1.50 per LITRE, for Diesel, which I think is around FOUR times the cost in the US! Then again all our Doctor and hospital treatments are free.

You need a shower head that has a pause button at the head. It doesn’t turn the water off, it just pauses the flow at the end of it. (Kind of like a garden hose head, but for potable water). Also, you need bowl-like Tupperware for that fridge. Don’t get glass. Lastly, you need a 3-dish pan system for washing dishes. Then all you have to do is quickly rinse them for the last step.

I think you guys did a great job on the living quarters. Be certain to pit plenty of sealer and wax on the exterior wood. It'll pick up lots of bugs, etc. being at the front. Consider Velcro under the chair feet. Use the soft section on the front feet only. Opposite site on the floor, where they will ride during transport.

I love up cycling and renovating things. Iv changes so much since the pandemic. I try sooo hard. My grandad started a wholesale bedding plant nursery who suplly alot of England. I stayed on the other one and became manajor I ajd so many great ideas and I'm so horticultural I love wildlife and saving the planet. I feel I was born in the wrong country I get so exited just sitting down and feeling the ducks. They wer my baby's from very young. They recognise you and like to chill with you and love coming to pick up any unwanted slugs along the way... I have to have nature all around me. I just hope David attenborough can acknowledge them less educated people to do something. I belive every little helps. Plastic in bin, recycling plastic bin. Tins glass washed plastic. Hopefully it make some sort of a difference. I don't mind I you so but would you check me on intragram u don't have to I'm not spooky I just really loo up to u both. If not hope to see your next awsome road trip! Maybe its may be a nudist beach, which we know u all love 😂😂 love ya

My wife and I are working on a 1978 American Clipper. I recommend putting fuel injection on your rig to help increase gas mileage and ease of starting. Another upgrade I will be doing is installing a shoulder belt system, not a fan of lap belts only.

Great job on the RV, as for the holding tank, figure the size of your fresh water tank and that should tell you how much you can put into the holding tank. The shower looks amazing, well done on that, have you heard of a NAVY SHOWER? I was a sailor and we use the procedure for our RV, (75 gallons of fresh water, 64 gallons of gray water and 35 gallons of black water), get in the shower, turn on the water and wet down, turn water off, soap up then turn on water to rinse off. Very minimal water use. We can generally go 4 to 5 days if we conserve some. Another item is an outside water source from your RV, we use it for dishes and rinsing our hands after using waterless soap. Watching you for more videos!!

Grey water tank should be about 5/10 gallons larger then the fresh water. When showering in a camper once you are wet turn water off when soaping to save water. Golden rule.

Washing dishes can use alot of water we've found washing then dipping in a filled sink of water to rinse will save lots of water opposed to letting it run kinda acts like the way you shower wet,shut off an soap an shampoo hair,rinse an done.

I can't remember what festival i was at but a tractor came round selling Scrumpy ever other day. I asked the farmer why he sold alternate days and he said he realised that people had such sore heads the morning after he always got hassled so he now sold every other day so it gave people a chance to get over the hangovers before seeing him again :)

@@Theendlessadventure And if you're thinking about moseying to California, you might want to hold that thought. The cheapest gas we found in our part of California recently was $4.31 per gallon. And we've seen many stations with more than $5 per gallon.

VW T5 here (UK) - eurovan sized vehicle - 17.7 gallon tank just worked out when I last filled it, the cost was USD 142 !! Also gas here is cheaper than diesel too (mines a diesel of course)

I always have a seperate water tank for drinking water and never use my main water tank for more than washing even though I purge it every trip - I bought a polypropolyne tap tank about 4 gallon with big lid that allows a thougher cleaning - remember remote sites may not have cloronated water for tank filling,

To hold those chairs against the wall take some PVC pipe cut it into half inch sections one piece for each leg up against the wall then make a c shape out of the PVC pipe and it will grab onto the legs of the chair

Pro tip. Next time it looks like you made about eight ice cubes filled to the top. When you make ice next time fill 16 cubes halfway they will freeze faster and you’ll have the same volume of ice cubes

Quart and pint canning jars make for great leftover containers. You can easily see what’s in them and you can get plastic lids with gaskets on Amazon-they are the rainbow colored ones.

Oh wow! Goulash is one of the best one pot meals. It was a once a week supper when I was growing up. When I was RVing I’d make a double batch, divide it between two baggie and freeze it. Saves a lot of fridge space in the RV. I’d throw the whole bag into simmering water to thaw and heat up. I had a ton of those type recipes. Ya’ll did great. I’m envious. Those days are now behind me.
