We have the smittybilt XL and when i was on my ram 2500 it felt like sleeping on a skyscraper. However, those ladders are designed to have holes drilled wherever your vehicle needs them to be. Set the ladder so your feet touch the bottom rung and your outstretched arms are touching the rung about chest height. Should be around 70 degrees or so. They bend and get damaged at the angle you had it set at. I added a foam topper to mine and it was a more comfortable sleep than the $50k camper we stayed in before we picked up the tent. Love the vids and maybe we’ll see you around in our 91 single cab pickup!
Super cool setup! I was trying to find a Toyota pickup similar to yours local to me and couldn’t find a good deal on one and one that wasn’t completely rusted out so I ended up buying a 1983 Nissan 720 pickup. Excited to see the iterations of your set up in the future! God bless🫡🇺🇸
Was just up there about a week before you when I took my wife out to wishon, there was zero people! It’s crazy to see McKinley grove so packed, I’m assuming you went around Memorial Day though. Sweet vid, I’m hoping to take my 89 on its first camping trip later this month since me and my grandpa went in it when I was a kid. Also after this I went and layed down in my truck bed to see if I would fit. Good advice.
just found your channel and just had to subscribe when I heard the burp and her look. So real life. hahaha If the tent was up off the bed more your ladder would definitely be better for you. Maybe a set up that will let you raise the tent after getting to camp so you don't lose your lower center of gravity while wheeling. I will be checking out your other videos. I'm a big Toyota fan and my son and I bought a first gen 4Runner and really like it. I overland in my Sequoia.
You turned your crawler into an overlanding rig like me 😆 I have an Alpha 2 rtt fits perfectly on my bobbed bed. Sweet vid just now discovering your channel definitely Sub’d 🤙🏽
