Well we have one semi final set and its the one i thought we would have from this half of the draw. 2 decent matches with very good darts thrown in each. Daryl Gurney never recovered from the 5-0 in the very first session before the break and even though he was slowly eating away at Joes lead, it always felt like Joe was in control and in the end he managed the game well to see it out, second semi was a fantastic game between 2 friends and was played in great spirits and i really enjoyed that one. It was very close and this time it was the middle of the match that was crucial when Nathan won 9 of 10 legs to build the big lead and even though Chris did show some fight, it always felt like Aspinall was gonna win after he was 14-8 up. The semi between Cullen and Aspinall should be an absolute cracker. First time semi finals at the Matchplay for both so should be very interesting. I see it as a 50/50, i cant see a clear favourite in that one. But before that onto tomorrows quarters and i simply cant wait for that Heta v Humphries match which has all the makings to be an all time classic. Searle and Clayton should be good before that as well and Jonny is playing at a good level and the finishing is superb so it depends which Ryan turns up tomorrow. If its Ryan from round 1, were in for a treat.
I was a bit on edge when Dobey started to make his charge! I’ve never enjoyed watching Nathan’s technique tbh; however, he was absolutely sublime in this match!! Don’t want to sound like a father but I’m disappointed in Darryl: his form seemed to take a hit over the past few days-a stark contrast to his darts against Anderson!
Cullen seems to have the motivation to win the Matchplay at this point while Aspinall won his match but hit more singe bulls (25) in his match than just about any other match in any players career! I mean the bullseye was the Achilles heel of his match honestly.
Easy said but ''with the exp Dobey has'' in such a long match he should apply some more moments where he takes a bit more time just to keep control of the heartrate. Hope to see him do that more just as some other top players. He needs to if he wants to beat them in the future in such long game.
Thoughts below: Joe took control of that match in the first session and never looked like giving it up. Daryl took too long to get going or that match might've been closer. Happy Nathan got through what was a good match between him and Chris. I got a bit nervous for him when he was throwing a few wayward darts at the end of the match but he pulled through. I'm predicting Jonny and Damon to join them in the semi finals, but let's see how it goes.
agree with your explanation, however i think the complete opposite about tommorows games, for me Luke and Ryan go to the semi finals. I guess we will see.
Cullen’s ability to hit a clutch 180 is unreal. & when he’s up against it the T18 will bail him out 80% of the time. My favourite player. Aspinall probs my second so really looking forward to this semi final
Of all the players left I think Cullen and Clayton have the mental game to win the tournament. If Humphries can transfer his euro game to this he can do it, but both him and Searle seem to beat themselves in their own head.
I hope this is the start of a revival in Daryl’s play. He’s done well this matchplay. Love his no celebration style. Now if we could just get rid of the booing of players and the dumb outfits then even better
@@claphands-pr2vt I love all darts players. Well… almost all of them. But Taylor, Barney, Mvg, Martin Adams, Lowe, and Bristow are just some of my favorite darts players!
Thats boring 😴. Luke humphries is one of the most boring and overrated players out there. I can't belive he was being talked about for the Premier league
