[Vlog 1.8.22] - Reflecting on the journey that brought us here to adopting Elijah. For many years of our marriage we thought that children would never be possible because of Mary's health, but here on our 11th wedding anniversary we reflect on how our journey prepared us for life with a baby!

Welcome to The Frey Life daily vlogs! We are Peter & Mary, a married couple in our early 30's, showing the ups and downs of everyday life with #CysticFibrosis, a genetic lung disease that Mary was born with. In August 2019, Mary started a new CF medication that changed the trajectory of our future, and life has changed dramatically - including our son, Elijah, joining our family in December 2021. We also have an adorable standard poodle, Oliver, and a hairless sphynx cat, Harry. It's our hope that these videos can be an encouragement to to celebrate the little things in life and find joy amidst a world full of hard realities!

Happy happy anniversary! It was a very special one as a family of 5 now. The beginning led to the present that is a gift! I can't wait for the day you share his beautiful face. For now I'll tear up looking at his beautiful hands and toes. His hands don't look so newborn-ish anymore. He's becoming an infant. So so sweet! ❤️ What a blessing!

Such great scenes! The ending with Peter rocking Elijah and Harry….Ollie resting with his red protective pjs….Mary and Elijah…I so look forward to each new episode and I have been watching for years now. You guys have such a smooth groove going on…Oh, and Mary sweetly spooning cereal bites to Peters-just touching as you guys work beautifully as a team.

I look back at yalls Journey and see how many times Mary has been in the hospital. To now having almost three years with he not having to be hospitalized. To having a beautiful baby boy. God has really blessed you guys. I thank God for that new medicine that has truly helped y’all out.

Because of my chronic illness my husband and I thought we too would not be parents. We are blessed with two boys. Just as we were thinking of a third baby my husband was given three years to live. That was ten years ago. Some how he continues to push through, now we both have chronic illness, but it’s chronic illness that makes us treasure every moment. My parents think I have the patience of a saint when it comes to our two special boys who just happen to have autism. Our life is hard but I feel we are content because we recognize how precious life is. I am new to your channel and see many similarities to my own life with chronic illness. You are both amazing couple and amazing parents. God bless

I waited 50 yrs to be a mom...started when I was 4. As the yrs went by, I accepted that being a mom was not going to happen. Like you, I trusted God and if He had other plans I was open to it. He did have other plans. My son came to me through adoption also. He is going to be 21 in June. I continue to trust God in the waiting....many promises to be realized. Blessings. God is good.

I remember seeing a Q and A years ago in which you both expressed that children was not in your future due to Mary’s health. Then this miracle treatment came along and now a baby. It gives me hope that life can change to make something that seems impossible possible. The joy I see in both your eyes shows me that even though at the time you both were content with the future you thought you were gonna have but little did you know God had another plan. I wish you many blessings through the highs and lows and I pray that in my own life I take the lows with the grace that I’ve seen in you both and remember that highs I never expected are yet to come.

I just love how incredibly thankful and just ooze love that you never thought was possible. Sometimes I believe how much we don’t appreciate how blessed we are to experience these moments of happiness……absolutely not criticising anybody or myself even. It’s just something some of us who are lucky enough to have kids without so much against us, don’t even think about. I hope that makes sense! It is just a joy to see this play out watching you. I’m sitting here now at my age thinking about and realising now how appreciative I am for the children I had when I wasn’t supposed to have had the ability to at the time. So thank you guys, it’s never too late to have your eyes opened :)

My anniversary is March 8th. It will be my 9th year. I cry everytime I watch your videos because that baby boy is going to grow up and see all these videos and really get to appreciate how loved he is. Ah, it's so cute I can't stand it!

I crying and laughing at the same time. This video is one of the best yet. I remember crying when you answered the question about children. I remember feeling sad but decided I would pray that if it was in God’s Plan to help you become parents. In the past 2 years I lost my Dad in 2020, welcomed our 2nd grandchild

Oh look at his itty bitty hand!! Suggestion, make handprint pictures every month or so. The teacher in me remembers doing that for the parents of the children. They always loved it.
