You are taking me back to Arvia. That ship has a special place in my heart 💝. Was my first experience of cruising and the rest is history 🤗🤗... Hooked for life 😇🙂
I'm so glad that MSC was NOT your first cruise. You guys would be done with cruising and would be missing out! I'm so glad you love cruising! We are lucky to have you guys share your experiences with us ❤
Your videos have encouraged me to go on a cruise after many years of my wife wanting to go on one, we have now booked a few for this year so jumping in at the deep end and both are long haul flying before cruising. The tips on drinks and Wi FI packages have been helpful. We are off to Alaska in July with Cunard from Vancouver and then Singapore and Asia in November with Celebrity hopefully all will go well and at least we will get a few destinations ticked off our must do list.
Please let us know your thoughts and your experience on your 1st cruise. Would love to hear your feedback and I you guys will have fun! Trust me, once you go on one, you would look back 😆
@@SandcastleGirl Hi, I don't know if you have seen our first-ever cruise. it was only a short 4-day trip but made us book another (and another and another....)
@flydriveexplore yes I remember that video like yesterday. I was nervous you guys weren't going to like it, but in the end, ya'll ended up enjoying it. Shortly after that video, I went on my first cruise on royal caribbean's harmony of the seas, and it was a blast! I hope to go again in the future and be a lifelong cruiser like you and mel 🚢⚓️🛳🌊
@@SandcastleGirl Just waiting at Vancouver airport for our return flight after 11 nights on Queen Elizabeth on our cruise from Vancouver to Alaska, we both thoroughly enjoyed the trip, the wildlife and scenery was fantastic, the food was pretty good, and the prices for beers etc although quite expensive about what i thought. I was a bit shocked by the $175 service charge each for the crew when you are also charged a gratuity for every drink you purchase which add up if you have a bottle of wine or a few beers each evening. To then find that water for the room was $3.90 a bottle seemed a bit mean on top of that. WI-FI was quite expensive so it was nice to go off grid for a week or so! The entertainment was pretty good with something for everyone and the guest speakers very good especially the on board naturalist and we also had Kenton Cool and Ben Fogle the adventurers giving talks which we both enjoyed. The benefit of not constantly packing and unpacking on a road trip or having to do the driving meant we were both very chilled. We don’t normally go to meet new people but we found a few couples who we regularly spent time with and enjoyed each others company. It has definitely given us the cruising bug and dispelled some of my own fears and myths. We are doing a Celebrity cruise in Asia in November and hopefully that will also be a success and it will be good to compare cruise lines.
Marcus, my wife Sarah and I were with you on Sun Princess and I organized the slop pull. I've been on 16 carnival cruises, I am confident that you won't have a fight onboard. They have cracked down HARD on that kind of behavior and I feel it was majorly attributed to the clientele. Some people just don't know how to behave in public, especially on a short booze cruise with Carnival. 12 days on Legend will be amazing. I spent 14 days on her last may and I loved every minute of it. I'll find you on Facebook if you're there and we can chat more about it.
Thanks for the info. Yes, I doubt if there’s going to be any thing bad on the ship. We’re actually really looking forward to the trip. Especially seeing Iceland again. How are you doing, anymore cruises? We’re in Ireland at the moment.
Very interesting and informative, great tips for the novice cruisers, you both come across so natural which is lovely. Looking forward to finding out where you’re cruising next 🚢
Thanks so much! 😊 We've are going on a couple of cruises in June, one for just a few days and the other a bit longer. Both on cruise lines we haven't been on before.
@@flydriveexplore lol I read you could break up .. thought that's a bit drastic. But yes a stop over in Istanbul would break up the trip nicely, cheers
Thanks, our certificate is a souvenir for driving the whole of Route66. When you get to Santa Monica there's a little booth and if you can prove you done the trip they write a little certificate.
Thank you for this. I really think you would both love a Cunard cruise. However I wouldn’t recommend Queen Anne for your first Cunard cruise. I would recommend any of the other queens to start with
We've got some cruises planned but not to Greece. We were looking at a Greek Island cruise later in the year but doubt if we can do it this year. We were watching Andy and Kirtsie on Celestyal Cruises.
As I said before you started a cruise is the only vacation we go on. We absolutely love to cruise. We have done Eastern and western Caribbean, Alaska, Mexico, and New England and Canada. You certainly looked like you really enjoyed yourselves.
