@@exsoulagent i do nightshift trunking and I find it OK at night, takes a bit of getting used to

@@4042buchan should have said nights and raining together 😆 although I do admire the Merc 5th generation for its safety aspects I find the system a bit harsh and late when using PCC via Tom Tom Navi.

@@exsoulagent I like the way it detects how far and what speed the vehicle in front of you is doing but sometimes for no reason the cruise control just cuts off

@@4042buchan yes I’ve had that as well 🥴 still a very good unit with great fuel economy anywhere between 13-16 mpg with a single deck solid box 36tonne overall load. 😁

From trucknet: tang is an irish driver generaly from the north. Will wear a check shirt jeans and polished brown dealer bootss and scania bomber jacket in the summer a scania t shirt can be worn. He will drive a v8 scania topline with six roof mounted spotlamps and four at the bottom. It will have the full frilly curtain and led scania griffin logo on the back wall. He will pull a fridge trailer which he will call a frigo. He will do northern ireland to mainland uk which he will call the bean five trips every two weeks and will do two laps of the parking lot when arriving and leaving using as many gear changes and blip the throttle between every gear change. They will spend the summer months with likeminded individuals at truckshows with there trucks which they will send half the night revving the nuts out of the engine and blasting the air horns.

@@marcdavey thank you for the response. I am amazed on all the differences between the truck over here in Canada and the u.s. compared to the trucks over in Europe. I don't think I could do it. Your truck bunks are too small for me. I drive truck my bunk and this is just the size of the bunk but including the cab is a 72inche. I use to own a truck that had a 86inche bunk on it

That equates to 15 t on a 6 ×4

Drive Axle weight limit in the UK is 11.5 Metric Tonnes. We pull Tri-axle trailers 99% of the time. This film is Ireland though..in the UK we have three axle tractor units, with a dead axle usually either in front or behind the drive axle. Total max weight is 44 Tonnes Gross.

Vehicle and axle load limits. The additional legal payload capacity with a 6x4 or 6x2 isn't normally worth the squeeze.

And if you compare an Aussie tri to his you will see the tri-axle is moved forward a lot more than here in Australia.... IE the tri is carrying most of the load, benefits would be easier getting around corners , but more of trailer swinging wider when turning.

Manouverability and fuel economy, in short. No need for 6x4 here unless on heavy haulage work
