Do you mind sharing the process of how you freeze dry the broth? We’ve had our Freeze Dryer since October and love it! FDrying #27th batch tonight. Frozen shredded hash brown potatoes!
@kzink3496
@kzink3496 Год назад
@@bobbiewilliams3109 it's so easy which I love about it. Pour your finished broth directly onto the freeze dryer tray being sure you stay within the weight limits of your unit. Ours is a medium so we keep it at 2 lbs. Then pre-freeze if possible. I pre-freeze everything to save time in the freeze dryer. The freeze drying process should take about 18-24 hrs again depending on if pre-frozen and size of your FD. Once done I transfer contents of each tray into a ziplock bag and crush to powder with a rolling pin and then pour into a canning jar with a moisture absorber (short term storage) or oxygen absorber (long term storage). We're on batch 39 (got ours in December) so you can tell we have been FD'g like crazy LOL You'll love using the FD'd hash browns since they store so long and rehydrate so easily. Enjoy!

Miss Lori, You are simply amazing to me. My Mama never used spices except Salt n Pepper when we was growing up bc she grew up during the Depression and with a large family, she couldn't afford it. We was poor. She didn't use spices or herbs or any kind of seasoning so I never learned how or what to use either. Now, when I was cooking for my own large family, I did use Onion Powder and Garlic Powder but not but a couple more. If I wanted to try anything different, I'd buy it. I honestly never thought about or knew I could make my own until this video. I was sitting with my mouth popped open saying, Oh my goodness! I never knew you could make Vinegars like this either. Now, I've eat some soured berries or fruits that was sitting in a bowl and it never tasted that bad to me but Mama would say, Don't eat that, it'll tear your stomach up, and yes it did! Lol. I'm just tickled pink that you made this video. I wanna make me some dry mixes n Vinegars too. Holy Buckets Miss Lori, I just love you and Mr Brown and all the things y'all make and do. My Daddy n Mama was very poor and simple hard working Georgia country people and we didn't have much of nothing but, we loved each other, appreciated and respected each other. We never knew any different. Lord I sure miss them so much. My Mamas food never lacked any flavor. It was the best. She might have done certain things or made stuff that I never knew about. I was always so busy myself. Life was hard but we never knew any difference bc that was just the way things were. Thank you again for this video. I wanted to taste that vinegar myself when Mr Brown did. Lol. I love vinegar in my green beans and I know I'd love the different vinegarettes for salads. I love pickled foods to. Pickled Peaches is one of my favorite fruits! You are wonderful and I really appreciate all the old ways of doing things. I remember so much myself. Mr Brown reminds me so much of the way my husband was. I miss him so much and truly loved him. I've been married since I was 16 yes old and tomorrow, March 14th, I'll be 67 yrs old. Its hard to be alone. Y'all are a Blessing! Prayers and Love to yall... God Bless 🙏🙏❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸😁😁

I have been wanting to make a fruit vinegar, mostly elderberry syrup, to take in the morning, every day to help with colds and such. After seeing this video, I really feel confident that I can do this. It’s so easy. You make it so easy. Is the elderberry syrup, the same as elderberry vinegar? I love your videos! Thank you Miss Lori! And I love your helper when he comes and does a taste test. I don’t have chickens and I was thinking if could I eat those blueberries so now I know! Awesome!
@WhippoorwillHoller
@WhippoorwillHoller Год назад
No, elderberry syrup is made with a sweetener, like honey, or sugar, with ginger, cinnamon sticks, water, and boiled and cooked down, making elderberry vinegar is just elderberry, water, fermented for 6 weeks

I make my own cranberry cocktail. I use 1 cup knudson organic cranberry, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar. I use a little stevia for sweetner. It is tart but acceptable. The fruit vinegar would be great. I use my cocktail to keep from getting a uti. My chickens would never see the fruit. I have some ideas. Thank you.

Hello Miss Lori! I am a mid west Texas lady with three babies. I am 30 years old, and I would like some wisdom from you. I’ll find that most of the time I am busy trying to live such a wholesome life without missing a beat and without missing out on every moment. But I find that I am looking for elderly traditional women to help me acknowledge for myself that staying home with my kids in my Homestead and my farm is in fact a wise decision and good for us. I love our lives, but I guess I want some reassurance from someone as amazing as you. I want to know if you look back on your mothering days and think I’m so glad I stayed home with my children. Nowadays, it’s all the Modern thing for moms to work and have your own personal goals reached. And I think that’s great and all, but as a woman, and as a mother, I would just love some wholesome reassurance that I will not regret staying home with my children. That I didn’t miss out on anything for pursuing a career. I think That this topic on pursuing a slow life has been quite popularized lately, because a lot of women are wanting to live more traditionally, and most of us have had to rewire our brains back to think about how we used to live . any thoughts on this ? I would absolutely love love love if you made a video on this.love from Texas. ❤

If I can add anything else to the conversation, this is absolutely not the early 1900s. This is 2023 where we can’t trust where our children go what our children see what are children are being taught. And so I am homeschooling which does not allow me to be employed. I would absolutely love to bring more money to my household, but I have to weigh out what it would cost me. It would cost me the indoctrination of my children. I feel like maybe 50 years ago it would’ve been safe to let your children go to school, knowing that they were in good hands. Unfortunately, I cannot trust anyone with my children in this modern day. And I think that it’s a blessing that I get to homeschool and that I get to be with my kids and have my farm and so I have to be sure that this is what I want. And as sure as I am, I still feel the need of reassurance from elderly women who are wise and who have done something similar before. what I am trying to say is that I appreciate your content, so very much. It brings peace to my mind and my heart. It speaks of the glory of God. Your content brings me so much joy, and it makes me not feel alone.❤ God bless you, Miss Lori

I was able to stay home a few years with my kids, Homestead, we had cattle. Horses, sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits. I raised a big garden, everything was from.scratch, my kids never ate out much, we didn't travel, my kids were working farm kids, TV was only at night when everything was done and settle down, I worked from.sun up, till sun down, My grown kids will tell you they had a wonderful childhood, we didn't have money, but they didn't go without what they needed, I believe a stay at Home mama, who is busy with kids and the Homestead is the most important, fulfilling life there is, I done both, and I can't wait to retire and be at home on my Homestead! Do it girl! Your children will prosper from it, xoxoxo
