Dorcas, my advice would be...make the best of your study in Philippines..we have one of the best educational system in Phils ..i can attest on that since i am already working as an intern NURSE here in Switzerland and currently studying additional Nursing units to fianlly convert my license here soon . During theoretical discussions i am always able to answer most of the questions imposed by the teacher, that some of the students weren't even aware of. Its an advantage 😊 if you do a group work or when creating MANUSCRIPT aka "Thesis", always read and research about every title, and dont rely only on your assignment or just read ...understand, explore and research research research..it will help you on your board exam😊 RESEARCH in community nursing is the toughest in our board exam...so pay also a lot of attention to it😊

Many INDIANS Live Here For So LONG And Other Are With BUSINESS Here So I'm Not Wondering About THEM Because Many Of Them Are SPEAK FILIPINO Language And Live Like A FILIPINO....

The best interview is with the Thai students(fellow asean neighbors), they don't look on the negative side of the Philippines in comparing it with their own country but rather they see some familiar similarities with little defferences between the Philippines and Thailand. 🇵🇭🤝🇹🇭

The edge of studying in the Philippines especially in Medical courses is that the system we are using is like in the USA.

Correction pls., our water is not salty here😅 Most people buy bottled water because they feel it's more safe to drink. And it became normal since water is available in bottle. But it doesn't mean that tap water is not safe. Coz it also went through filter system before being distributed to the households. 😊

I pray that all of them succeed.. I know it is hard being a student here in the Philippines but I hope they can also enjoy and have fun and foster strong bonds in the Philippines. I believe that studying here is really tough as they will encounter a lot of real life problems while studying here but I hope that they will learn more on humanity and life.

I am also a student, taking Bachelor of Arts in English Language here in the Philippines, I thank God that I am able to learn this language. 🇵🇭🇵🇭🙏

If you want colder weathers, come to the northern parts of the Philippines. 🙂👍

If you don't like our country or not comfortable in here you are free to go back to your country. We can survive without foreign students. But for those who would like to stay and embrace everything in here good or bad you're all welcome.

I never thought that there are so many foreign students studying here in the Philippines than I could imagine. The group of Indians you've interviewed are almost the number of students already in one class/classroom. In such a way, you are promoting the educational system and schools here in the Philippines, which is good. Good job Dorcas! Keep it up! I thank you for this.

It's good to know that so many foreigners are studying nursing in the Philippines, our country produces the best nurses in the world. Even though Philippines doesn't have much resources as what other country has, their studying ethics is the best. We take studying very seriously plus we help others to cope up also especially foreigners. Anyway, goodluck to your endeavor!

used to work with a band in Phuket(Le Meridien Hotel). Yes Thailand is almost like the Philippines. Thais are easy to get along with epecially the women. I hope you all succeed!

The Thai girl with English major can’t even form a single English sentence properly. It’s weird.

I like the honesty of foreigners in their views so that we Filipinos can correct our ways, especially the negative treatment to foreigners.

Not only cheaper but the standard of teaching and university standard are excellent that can compete to other countries.

In India every year atleast 16 lakhs (16 hundred thousands) students appears for the medical entrance exam in all of them only 1.5 hundred thousands get a chance to get admission in India. Remaining one lakh (hundred thousand) medical students take admission in the different parts of the world.

Among the students you interviewed Dorcas the ones that always capture my thoughts and attention was those student from Thailand. I never heard any negative statement from them and they are very optimistic when it comes to learning new things about their life as a student in a different country and new experiences of living in a different country. I admire all those other students too for being so determined and dedicated with their studies and desires profession in the future. I hope they will all become successful and become an amazing doctor in the future❤🙏

Add questions that delve on their studies like why did they come here to study medicine, or whether their expectations of studying here are met or the educational system is lacking, lab/ clinicals or professors are up to teaching standards etc. If you ask these besides the personal stuff, you can capture a better view of their stay here.

4 years of Medicine in Philippines that's why it is Monday to Saturday. Really no time for fun. But the Thailanders have 2 years more to really have fun 😊

Its true, Thai and Philippines have similar culture. I live in Thailand for 18 years and I can see no difference.

Do people in the comments know culture shock isn’t necessarily a bad thing there is a lot of culture shock obviously because our cultures are different ,at the end of the day as a foreigner i have loved my stay so far here i have only met and interacted with nice and loving people that make my stay here more great

I went to Uganda with my family and I liked the weather during our stay there (July 2022). Someone told me if I like Uganda I will like Nigeria, too. He said to go to Nigeria if I like spring or autumn type of weather. He is a Nigerian who happened to live in the midwest of the US where I live right now. He said that Nigeria has a very nice temperature. Now I understand why the Nigerian interviewees told you that the hot weather in the Philippines is worse than their country.

I think one thing you should learn in the Ph is the culture of hospitality and embrace and apply it. its a big factor in your career in the near future.

I'm a filipino and studying in Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok. It is expensive here. My friends are german and dutch both said the same thing more expensive than Government schools in Europe

There are milk in Tetra packs in the groceries. They may not be as many as in other countries but there are a few like Selecta, Bear Brand, Nestle and few imported ones from Australia and New Zealand. Evaporated milk is different, they are only used for desserts.

The Philippines is becoming a melting pot of most people around the world whether tourists or just students taking the opportunity of the cheap education offered by our country compared to other countries..It's maybe because we are a very gracious host and hospitable to any foreigner coming to our country...Just bare in mind that every country has the Good, the Bad and the Ugly traits you see and therefore it's not advisable to insult your host country by dealing on the negatives...Think POSITIVE and enjoy the Philippines for what it can give you...Thank you very much DORCAS Moro for your informative interviews...Carry on and more Power to you

But despite of this people how they like this country.. we want also to apologize about other pilipinos called them in a not so good nicknames. But we keep trying to educate those people that saying nicknames that against their personality is a kind of racism. So for the children we talk to them that do not use that word in our visitors from other countries because we hurt their feelings. So be gentle about what words that they say.. and it works now.

Those Indian girls are very lovely and nice 💯 I think she is right about the smiley part. I remember I got a travel advice to not smile at Indian men in India because they may see that as flirting. I was so surprised at that because in the Philippines it is so normal to smile and be friendly. It isn't necessarily means flirting.

What the heck!! Why is the question I always hear, “what is your culture shock?”, then giggle when the replies are quite negative? Of course, if you are not in your country, you will find it different. Even when I go to another region in the Philippines I feel different because they have their own dialect and traditions. Why are you in the Philippines if your country is providing more than us? Why not choose US or Europe to go instead? And this African blogger why still in the Philippines?

what I noticed about Baguio city is there is a lot of black American, African and Arabs.

If you're introduce some people living in Indonesia, Indian, and Thailand its almost the same culture and the environment so you dont need to ask them what is the culture shock for them, because its not surprised for them like the tradition because almost the same although it has little bit different culture and traditions between this country
