When I saw what was happening there on the news, the first people I thought about where you two. I can’t believe that Dubai put billions into all the hotels and restaurants and other things that they built but they did not put in a proper drainage system. They also said they had been seeding the clouds for 7 days straight. I hope you are feeling better Elle. I was praying that your flight would not be canceled and that you would get home safe to your boys. I’m so glad everything worked out. Hugs from the south east coast of Florida.
Actually Dubai is handling it pretty well. Mean while in Kenya floods are killing people. So many people have been displaced, roads destroyed and villages actually swept away. Praying y'all get home safely

With the tab water thing, in countries like that, you should also always make sure not to get ice in your drinks (as ice is usually made with tab water there) and also beware with fresh fruits and veggies (as those are usually washed or somehow else contaminated with tab water).
Spot on, ice was my first thought, unfortunately with drinks holding off on ice means less profit as more of the actual drink has to be used. That's why foreign destination in tropical countries heaps ice into tourist drinks because there is more profit for the vendors. Being in a hot climate, wanting ice cold drinks is the trap. Once there was water laying all around from the rain everywhere the humidity would have gone sky high. I did notice they were both drinking their drinks with ice in them.
You have memories which your remember forever , I think your so missing your little ones but I hope you have enjoyed some you time & enjoyed just each other , Thankyou for sharing ❤
Crazy experiences!! Not quite the same but I remember travelling to California (from Canada) when I was a teenager and it was the most rain they'd had in like 100 years, so I totally sympathized! You'll have stories that will (hopefully) make you laugh one day, and a do-over one day with the boys :). Oh, and we still have Toys R Us in Canada! I know they closed out in the US a few years back, but we still have quite a few around town. Hope you make it home safe and sound :).
Oh my goodness guys I wondered if you were going to be ok after I saw the torrential rain Dubai was experiencing. Thank goodness you were both ok. Sorry 😢 Ell that you got poorly you have to be careful not to drink tap water whilst abroad I remember when I was little and we were abroad we brought bottled water. Glad you got given antibiotics to clear the infection. A trip you were not going to forget. At least you did enjoy Dubai though. Sending you both my love xxx 🥰

We went to Dubai a few years ago and stayed at the Grosvenor Suites by the Marina. We enjoyed it but all said it isn’t somewhere we would rush back to. Personally I much prefer the vibe in the Caribbean but each to their own. It’s always worth trying a place at least once I think.
You jus couldn’t write it could you wen u plan a honeymoon and then the heavens open!!! Look carefully at the small print and see if u get a complimentary Ark as you already have Noah!!! We went to St. Lewis in the US in 2013 for a friends wedding literally as a government shutdown had commenced 🙈 a lot of places were closed and we were there for 10 days! 😱 still had a nice time though x
Love Dubai been 4 times unfortunately my husband passed away 3 years ago so many plans to go back but not going to happen can’t believe the weather !!! We ate in the cheesecake factory too loved the mall the portions in the cheesecake factory were massive !!!

Heloo fab and ell i am from Bahrain and we had the same rain and flood its is so un usual here to rain even its the fist time and the tab water is not contaminated at all in our gulf countries at all so do not worry Dubai and Bahrain civilized clean countries the food is clean hope you go back with the boys when they r bigger as there are many many adventures and them parks and water parks for families
Ice from untreated water will make you really ill but burping isn't a symptom. I fell victim to ice years ago in Bali.I hope you have Travel Insurance.

A shame the rain spoiled your last days. When it rains a lot in Dubai they have floods it’s not so much the drains its the fact Dubai is a concrete jungle and there is nowhere for the rain to go.

No way 😮 we had the little DJI pocket cam which is way more discreet but we actually got comments from people saying they liked our camera so never got the vibe we shouldn’t film

You guys usually eat so healthy and you are having a lot of food you don’t normally have and maybe a bit of alcohol so I think your body is reacting to the food. This is what happens to me when we go on holiday.
