Kawasaki did an amazing job on their first sport side by side design. I work for a Brp/Polaris/Kawasaki dealer and I wrench in them all all day. Phenomenal job in my opinion. Not the fastest or butt puckering as some others but it definitely puts the right amount of power to the ground.
Lots of legroom in this bad boy. I’m 6’6” and fit fine. I did adapt my drivers seat to go even farther back so I could keep my left leg straight without bending my knee. There is still room behind the seat.
The old saying of ....it's more fun to drive a slow machine fast than a fast machine slow... definitely applies to this one. We can only hope long-term the quality of this unit is much above average just like most Kawasakis. The looks and styling are incredible! Looking forward to your test drive, great breakdown !
Luke - long time listener, first time caller. I consider your channel to be the best non-biased most informative channel on all things off-road - really value the opinions and insight and appreciate the dedication to the hobby we all love! Keep up the good work!
Dirt Trax TV wanted to ask - I noticed you never mention the price of units when you review them. Is there a reason for that? Just thought I’d inquire - I know for a lot of people price plays a huge role in what they’re going to buy.
Sometimes we do, but you're right we usually leave that out of the review simply because MSRP is available so easily on the OEM websites in different currencies country to country. Trim levels are all different and most sites let you fully build your ride on their website too. Nothing sinister, just a choice we make when scripting.
Great video , as always , can’t wait to see the test ride ! It looks great in your video but in real life it’s unbelievable ! My jaw hit the ground when I seen one at one of my customers house , his son had just bought it . He went to the dealer to get a new pit bike and came home with this ! Hahaha I love it !
Seen where Kawasaki introducing there updates for the 2022 KRX this September or first week of October so many rumors floating around, some saying a turbo or the most requested I see people comment about is a 4 seater version so will see here in a few weeks, we like the KRX but we have 2 boys and a 4 seater would be awesome 🙏
Great walk around! People can say whatever they want about Kawasaki’s SxS’s.... I have an ‘18 Teryx and, like this machine, it’s built like a tank from factory.... They’re heavy but they’re robust, solid builds for sure!
agreed. You never see a kawasaki being pulled out from the trails because of broken tie rods or engine blew. Kawasaki mastered the Vtwin engine 20 years ago.
I own a 22 brute force v-twin 750 4x4,and recently started noticing these krx-1000 2 seaters/4's I'm really DIGG that very mean sporty looking keep rolling kawasaki.
That's the problem I have with these, I'm also in Central Ontario (near Parry Sound). We don't really have the open areas really to use machines with this level of performance really.
Now that they have a krx-4, I hope 🤞🏼 to see y’all get your hands on one ☝🏼 of them and put a video out here for us with your opinion of it compared to the two seater
@@longboardguy The trick is lots and lots of Deep Woods Off bug spray and they still bombard you constantly and fly around your head. They just don't bite as much.
I like this machine even though it's slower than my rzr800 s model. It's perfect for trail riding where I live wickenburg, crown king, and four peaks areas.
@@dirttraxtv true, under 120 hp sport class this is a top notch machine. X3 is king but if it didn't exist I'd have a hard time to decide between krx and talon
Down low gas tank not so bad on my x3 like you said I have to open door lift 10 gallon gas tank to refill on trail its annoying when gas spills out of vent of can.
Oh my god those Damn bugs! Watching this makes me super glad I live in Arizona LOL‼️ once I had a mosquito land on me and it flew away.... man that was close. But that was 10 years ago so that’s nice 🤪 love D.T. keep the videos coming 👍🏼
I wonder when people will start tucking their expensive light bars underneath the roof??? Roll it over=light bar gone, hit the bushes=light bar mostly gone lol
I was severely unimpressed with the KRX. It's the slug of SxS market. The power honestly felt like a 500cc motor. I was also unimpressed with the low end grunt which is what the KRX was suppose to shine in. Me personally, I'd never even consider buying one. Way better options out there. The KRX is a huge flop in my opinion.
I do not agree that it feels like a 500cc engine. The low end is less than impressive, which could be resolved with some clutch tuning and I do feel it needs more top end, but mid-range it shines.
@@dirttraxtv it takes so long for that engine to build power though that's why it doesn't feel like a 1k machine (to me). The power comes on very bland. The vast majority of owners will never tune the machine and will leave it as they bought it. They will buy it and only add accessories. That is where Kawasaki messed up. In order to compete in the SxS market you have to do something better than the competing market. Give people a reason to buy it over the competition, like ride quality/suspension, power, reliability or price point. I'm honestly expecting this machine to not sell very well. Only die hard Kawasaki fans will probably buy it.
Too wide for me to ride here in WISCONSIN. Lots of problems so far in vids. I do here it is the smoothest ride in the biz. Doesnt buck like a Talon stock. Sound like it taps out rpms. Nice sunroof though.
Really awesome suspension. Time needs to be taken to get it dialled in right. Our sweet spot was 10 clicks from soft out back and 6 from soft out front. Reduced body roll and still soaked up bumps without feeling too harsh.
Would be interesting to see what would happen if they put the H2 engine in one of these. Maybe the touring or ZH versions which have more down low/flatter powerband.
If they give this to us under 20k with same amount of toys in the 700 model good shocks seats lights ECT and maintenance is still easy and reliable this will work.
@@dirttraxtv what was ur true take on the teryx ? Because I thought for the lights the comfort (seats shocks) the size fit on trails the power was good nothing crazy but compared to older 800 and 570 and artic cat models it held its own the area next to shin and knee did get hot but I'd rather deal with that vs my rzr always cooked stuff in my cooler the bed was kinda useless vs kawi the bed works I wish it had a tailgate but it still held animals and gas cans ect...... Polaris had a knack but i think kawi and Honda have stepped up and not really a fan of the Yamaha machine till ur in the turbo model.
I really like the Teryx. It is a good machine and pretty strong too. I would like to see this 1000 in it. Its only downfall is that it isn't a utility vehicle and it isn't a pure sport so it does neither REALLY well, but for a sport ute it is a great UTV. It has sporty elements to it and it is super fun to drive, but obviously the KRX . We did a huge Hatfield McCoy ride in the Teryx a few season ago (no cameras). Was awesome for those trails. Like anything, put a few of the same vehicles in a line and it turns into a race. Had a lot of fun.
@@dirttraxtv that's what makes it so great it's kind of the raptor of the sidexside world it's not a grizzly, it's not the yfz but it will hang with either kinda statement.....but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that ride at McCoys should have been recorded because the pitter patter around a yard & fire trail doesn't really show what these machines are capable of.
HAHAHA!! You're right!! It is stuck in my memory as one of my top most funnest rides. I honestly don't think video would have done it justice. It was dusty on day one, then it rained and then snowed and we drove the flippin' crap outa those machines. It was awesome! Thanks for helping me remember that one!!! Feeling like I needed a bit of nostalgia...
Hello great video this sxs from Kawasaki is my top buy I really like it so far. I was wondering how tall you are Luke for seat and leg room comfort? And when you drove the 2018 CFMoto 1000 did you find it cramped a bit? I’m 5’11”. Looking for something comfortable for longer rides. Love your channel. Been watching for a long time even on tv when I was teenager haha 😂👍🇨🇦🍻
Just saw the krx review on DT tv. If you are going to wait for kawi to give you the differences that you want ....................... You would have better luck finding a mermaid riding a unicorn strolling the streets of kinmount . I have owned a 2004 KVF and a 2010 brute force , nothing changes in kawi world because we want it to . Great equipment but there is better .
Madsen Outdoors I’m surprised you didn’t say Yamaha! I believe Kawasaki and Yamaha set the standard. I see too many Honda’s break where I am. Yamaha and Kawasaki don’t seem to die no matter the type of machine. Whether that be bikes, Atvs, sxs
Always entitled to an opinion. I like the size and how it is built, but agree that out of the gate it is sluggish and could use some clutch tuning. Needs at least 10 more HP up top, but I feel like they nailed mid range. Really feeling like Kawi built the KRX to scale up to a turbo. That would be sweeeeet.
Very late getting one. We're based in Canada and don't have the access to these the same way Kawasaki USA provides them. Kawasaki Canada did help us out with this one and we're happy to have it on site.
im so on the fence about these, on one hand i know its an awesome vehicle but on the other i just hate how it looks haha im sure im the minority though
I love watching these newbie KRX owner reviews. I have to laugh 😆. They have know clue what problems they have and what problems are about to come. To many to list. I know this being a KRX owner at 1200 miles. But anyway great video. Good luck. Be very interested to see your thoughts after 1000 miles.
I think he means street legal. In which case none of them are fully street legal. Certain towns allow them to be registered and driven on secondary roads.
@@dirttraxtv You can only use them on very restricted trails (or in the dunes). And many if not most of those trails are either connected by street legal only sections or say "no side by side". The only vehicle worth owning in CA is a dual sport or Wrangler.
@@dirttraxtv even the less expensive ones, I'll just buy a truck, would like to have one to go through the woods, i cant even imagine having one, ohhhh well
@@chrisg4006 To each his own. If you can buy a truck, do it! There's smaller, more affordable side-x-sides out there with tons of power when you're ready to take the plunge. You can pick up a brand new RZR S 900 for thousands less and have a ton of fun with it.
Over priced , underpowered for the weight, really not sure of that odd look from beyond the seats to rear, polaris pro xp 181hp 26,990 in my opinion more machine less money. Just saying, love this channel so please don't retire lol.
Dirt Trax TV after years of motocross a lower end model just doesn’t work for me 😅 I have a ranger 570 for the farm and have had can am and Polaris when the 1000s first came out as well as a turbo but I really wanna try one of the Japanese machines out 🤙🏽
@@freedomisntfree_44 I am in the same boat as you, having raced moto forever I dont want a rzr900. I crave something that jams! I have a ranger 900 on our farm and its good for what its built for and nothing more.
Yup, I'm on board here. I drove the RZR PRO XP this week and as soon as I got home I spent the rest of the night calculating payments and also imagining if Polaris made a 60-inch wide version with a 1000 - something smaller with a ton of jam. Outside that, I'd re-mortgage my house to buy a PRO XP. Impressive piece of equipment.
@@dirttraxtv I hear what you're saying but that's a mildly modded X3 XDS Turbo R. Or a stock RZR Pro. I think Honda and Kawasaki have gone way too far on the pricing. They're in big turbo territory with very few reasons as to why.
