Stefan, found your channel from Mentour Now. I am a 30+ year Airline pilot. I have a very good friend and mentor that was also diagnosed with a brain tumour, which was applying pressure to his optic nerves. At the time he was a Dash8-400 Captain. He lost his medical, had the operation, which was successful. CASA took a while, with many reports required, but he his back flying as a Dash8-400 Captain. I wish you all the best with the operation and recovery. You will be back flying before you know it. Take care.

Hi Stefan Tanks for the vids so far. I am in the middle of cancer treatment. prognosis is good and scans show full remission. but it is a tough road and a life changing experience. Friends and Family have gone above and beyond for me. There are no Promises in Life you just have to roll with it and keep moving ahead. best of luck on your journey and make the most of every day. 👍

I’m part of a QLD club that has been one of the best experiences of my life, I started when I was 15, and went on a 7 day course to go solo, best thing I had ever done. When you’re fully healed and recovered. I’d love for you to come and visit (if it’s not too difficult). Go to the local glide spot, pay for an introductory and ask how to join the club. Generally you don't need to buy a glider you can rent club gliders. And gliding is undoubtedly the purest stick and rudder flying there is

I don't know if they winch launch gliders in Australia, but if they do then it's an absolute experience. You really appreciate the weather in a whole new way and all the fun of the no go-around landing. Quiet, huge field of view, simple instrument set. [creepy cult voice] join us. It brought a smile to my face when I heard EYZ on the Melb TWR frequency landing into MEL, and I saw you and EYZ while I was waiting to cross Echo and felt so happy. If your mate smacked it in, you might have called it a "pancake" breakfast with your coffee. Guess you'll have to settle with butter and coffee instead.Nice landing! Man, those birds in the beginning were almost too close for comfort! Our on field fire department are routinely firing mortars to scare off our birds at KPAE. I first started mt flying back in the early 1980's. I had about 80 hrs before I started to learn to fly GA in a C172. That gliding base helped me far more than I realised. I use rudder all the time in GA and RAA flying. Most GA pilots dont know what the rudder is for they just use it for steering on the ground. Rudder is the most important control you can have. its the first to work and the last to finish working. I would recommend ANY pilot do a reasonable amount of glider flying as it teaches you to really fly. If you cant keep a glider up in the air then you need to do more until you can. Then this will help your powered flight skills immensely

As fellow Cirrus pilot it's been so much fun watching your aviation journey and frankly it's inspired me to be a lot more adventurous with my flying.
