You can't expect to her sleep all night and then take long naps in the day. Be Thankful u get the good nights sleep. She is beautiful and u are blessed
California actually allows for 12 weeks of baby bonding for both parents. State pays for 8 weeks and the other 4 weeks can go unpaid or you can use your PTO.
In Israel you get 14 weeks paid maternity followed by 12 weeks unpaid (but getting to keep your job). She can extend her “leave without pay” for a quarter of the length of her employment, up to a maximum of one year. I believe men are allowed to take some of the weeks from their wife if they want paternity leave.
I live in Ontario, Canada and it one year maternity leave or paternity leave....and it’s great and honestly I think all countries should do it this way....honestly I couldn’t imagine it being less
My state doesn’t have “state paternity leave”- nada. None! Indiana. But I work for a company that is headquartered in Switzerland. Women employees get 14 weeks 100% paid off after having a baby. Men employees get 8 weeks off 100% paid off. They also will help with employees with fertility issues and pay a big chunk of that. They help pay for adoption. So many other perks too! I’m so spoiled but it’s all cause my company is Swiss!
My husband only got 4 weeks at 50% paybut I'm grateful for those 4 weeks. I get 10 weeks at 100% pay. Also our daughter sleeps the same way. I'll take the good night sleep and no naps during the day over her taking naps during the day and no sleep at night.
We get a year at 55 percent of your earnings OR a few months over a year at 36 percent... You can also take parental leave 12 weeks BEFORE your due date at 55 percent of your wages.. We are SO FORTUNATE
Don’t worry Arlyne!! You can do it!! I have a 4 month old and my husband commutes all week to another state. So I’m basically a single mom! And it’s tough sometimes but hang in there once you get a routine down you get used to it 🙂
My husband gets 2 weeks off of paternity leave but then could use his vacation days if he wants more. He’s in the military...we don’t have kids yet but hopefully it will change to more by the time we do!
“You’ll do great” this is the time you get to bond more with your baby and you transform into a SUPER MOM. Us moms are strong even if we don’t get to shower until the end of the day lol.
Ohhh yes u r soooo right. I remember when my husband went back to work I cried leading up to those days but now I’m a super mom capable of doing it all. Some days r easier than others but they’re all satisfying in their own way.
Oh my goodness tell me about it! My husband never took a day off work and being a first time mom with a really tiny baby. My daughter was in the NICU and I was so nervous doing it all on my own. I couldn't shower and I had to be waking up every 4 hours to feed her. I hardly got any sleep and girl I cried. I hardly showered because while she was asleep I had to clean the house, cook, run out and do errands taking my newborn, ect. There was no sleep at all. The good thing is that once they do get older there is no more waking them up every 4 hours. So eventually we do become super moms.
Employers are not required to give paternity leave in Rhode Island 😓 if they do it’s considered a luxury. Most fathers use all their vacation time at once when they have a baby.
Arlene, you will do awesome!!!! Don't worry and don't stress, because Meadow will sense it. You are a great Mom already!! Congrats. God Bless you and your precious baby!!! And Weston is an awesome Dad !!!!! Take care. From Texas!!
I just gave birth 6 days ago and my husband has to go back tonight. 😢 I wish we could afford to have him take longer leave. He won't even get paid for the days he didn't work.
When my girls asked my husband when can we wear make - up ? He said when you grow -up and move out ..Then they asked when can we date ? He said , same day !! 😀👏👏❤️
Hi Guys, From 🇨🇦 and we do get a yr off for maternity. However I was lucky and got to stay home for 13 yrs to raise my kids before I went back to work. Love watching your videos, doing such a great job. Such a adorable family.
In Illinois you can take typically 4-6 weeks, but typically it isn't covered and personally with my job after maternity leave you then don't get vacation the following year :( I certainly think maternity leave should be a must
In germany, you can ask for paternity leave any time before the third birthday of the kid and choose how long you want it to be, but it's 3 years max. It's way more complicated obviously but that's the gist of it. :)
You'll do great Arlene! Weston be careful at school. Wear your mask and sanitize before you come home and touch anything or anybody! Meadow is such a doll and you guys are doing a great job. New subbie here by the way!
Hubby works from home so I am so blessed to have him with me. I couldn’t imagine not having him every day. He loves it so much that he gets to see her grow up every single day. Also, most babies who sleep great at night take cat naps during the day. She’ll eventually learn to nap better.
In Michigan its depends on your employer. My husband got 0 paid paternity leave. He had to use his vacation. For me it was 6 weeks paid and the rest I used my vacation time.
She's so cute! 💕 My husband's job gives them 4 months of paternity leave, for me its only 6 weeks 100% paid and if you want an additional 6 weeks its no pay or use pto for the additional 6 weeks
OMG Meadow is adorable 😇 She's so perfect ♥️My brother got 10 weeks off when my nephew was born. We all still pitched in to help by making meals and cleaning. Just so they could focus on baby 💞
It’s hard at first to adjust without help from hubby But With time you get used to doing everything by yourself 😊 ❤️ my husband was home for only 6 weeks. We live in CA too Meadow is so adorable 🥰😍
I’m home with a toddler and 3 month old. It’s hell. Haha My husband had 5 days paternity. And I had 3 months maternity with my first. Also, count them blessings for a good nighttime sleeper! :)
My husband only got 10 days off after the birth of my second baby. It really sucked to be 10 days postpartum with a toddler and a newborn. Yall are extremely lucky to get 8 weeks!
My husband got 1 week off for maternity leave and he used his 2 weeks vacation after that. Wish we had 2 months off. Don’t worry you got this mama you’ll do great! 💃🏻💪🏼❤️
