I am so happy I had the chance to tour a 700 year old hacienda. Still lived in and not much has changed. this beautiful hacienda was in an old rancho near our rancho in Jalisco Mexico. we also had a wonderful time visiting for the fiesta's and eating Mexican street tacos my favorite. have a beautiful blessed night.

Actually, they are not "ranchos" they are pueblos or small cities (Ocotlán, Jamay, La Barca, Atotonilco, etc. are cities) a rancho is a a large country property (usually several acres in size up to thousands of acres) that belongs to a person or family, where they grow some kind of commodity (grains, vegetables and/or animals like cows, horses, pigs, chickens, etc) and is owned by a family and they have "ranch hands" people who work and live in the ranch) I don't know if you have had the chance to know a ranch in the U.S. Midwest or in Texas for example, that is a rancho. But they could be called "pueblitos" or "rancherías". Saludos.

Thank you so much for this information! You dont know how hard it is to get history here especially on the ranchos. I love the old homes and churches and learning more about them. @@touchoflighthomesteadmexico agree. It's maybe 500ish yrs old. The hacienda is Spanish style and the Spaniards came to Mexico in the 1500s. Maybe prior to the Spanish coming there was an Aztec home on the same spot? Aztec would not have a tunnel going to a church. Regardless, it's beautiful and how lucky of you to get to go inside. A video of the hacienda would be nice. But it cannot be 700 years old, La Nueva Galicia was founded in 1531, so it has to be less than 500 years.

Agree with you. Maybe is how long the family had been living in that place and then after the arrival of the spanish they build the hacienda

@@fal2218 Yes I am thinking that's maybe what it was. I wish I had a historian to come and look at it.

I agree. They told me 1000 then they said they had a paper saying 700 so not sure but for sure very old. It would be wonderful to have a historian come out and see.

Hola. Me ayudan y me dicen poco a poco. Que tengas un día bendecido.
