Hi Erin. I am Mexican married a gringo and after he got retired we move to Guanajuato and he is so happy living in Mexico. Also want to tell you that I suffer from depression and anxiety after my dear daughter passed. Watching your videos makes me feel better, thank you. God bless you and your family.
Having 4 kids you really stay busy cooking, cleaning, doing the mom thing Well, I'm glad you're able to record everything you do You have Mexican custom you getting used to living there and doing a wife does in Mexico😂❤
I WISH here in the U.S people could sell out of their homes like they do back in Mexico, theres lots of tiny stores literally in garages, I used to LOVE walking literally 2 doors down to buy whatever was needed. Butcher was a few doors away, so was the pharmacy ( my son was in awe that they had soccer balls!😅) or the last minute run to the bakery around the corner. We even had a taco spot a few doors down in a garage? they called it a cochera but I really loved that we didnt have to drive across town to buy the basics❤ also loved loved loveeeddd that trash was picked up DAILY, we had someone that drove around every day selling the big jugs of water, another one selling pan dulce, another one selling gas tanks New subscriber here, loving your content!❤🙏🏼
Mexico is beautiful my husband is from Vera Cruz and I’m from Grand Rapids, we haven’t been to Mexico since 2013 we had a house built right by the Gulf Coast but we haven’t seen what it looks like and we probably never will his sister takes care of it now, my husband started getting sick in 2013 from a cough so strong that he broke his ribs from coughing so hard from seeing doctor to doctor until one referred him to a pulmonologist they did a biopsy and determined that he had pulmonary fibrosis it’s a fatal disease they had given him about one year to live but he got a lung transplant on Christmas 2017 about 15 months from the time he was diagnosed he’s no longer on oxygen but still has that chronic cough, when he was diagnosed we lost our daughter she was 36 and had 2 kids that we have taken care off since she passed, when they did the surgery they gave him 5 years it been 6 years now and now showing signs of rejection, I feel bad that the only way he’ll return to Mexico will be to bury him his parents died from covid and he wasn’t able to see them or go to the funeral, I love to watch your videos when you walk the streets there cause it reminds me of how beautiful Mexico is thank you for sharing ❤
Love how you, the Anglo, is always running a little late and the Mexicanos are on time or early.😂 Oh the irony. Enjoy your time in my country! We are very accepting of EVERONE!❤❤
Erin, you definetly open my apetite with those red enchiladas. They looked yummy delicious, buen provecho mi Hermosa familia.God bless you all my beautiful hard working family 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🐤🐥🐣🐔🐓🐎🐎🐄🐄🐐🐕🐕🐇🐖🐖
¡Hola! Fellow güera here! I love your videos and seeing your life in Mexico. I have been learning Spanish also and it does take time. The most helpful thing for me is when my husband speaks only Spanish but it’s hard for him to remember at times. He usually does it for the basics which I already know. And when he talks to our babies the repetition really helps me. But a lot of times he just speaks to them in Spanish when he’s yelling😂. En las conversaciones estoy perdida. 😅 We are planning a trip to Mexico soon. I’ve never been yet!! I love your recipe videos I hope you make more! God bless you all! ❤❤❤
Hi Erin, since you asked where are we from ? And you share so much of your own live with us. Thank you,, I truly do enjoy your videos. I thought it would be nice if I shared a little about myself to you. I am from California and I live in the mountains in a very small town. I am a homesteader, a vegetarian and I grow 80% of my own food. I mill my own flour from wheat berries, I make my own milk from nuts or oats as well as make my own laundry soap and other toiletries plus so much more. I also do holisticmedications from herbs and plants. I sew most of my own clothes. I am pretty much self efficient and here are a few things that I also enjoy doing; yoga, meditation, music by Himalayan bowls, reading, painting and watching Utube videos.
Love from Arizona! ❤ Just found your channel. I just want to say in America, as I’m sure you know, Mexico is portrayed as this scary place, and your videos prove otherwise! Such beauty and community!
Flipping those tortillas on the comal with your bare hands is like the final test of being Mexican.😅 Those enchiladas looked UH-Mazing! I would have also added sour creme on top and I will probably make some people angry but I also like to drizzle some barbecue sauce on them!😁🤤
Hi, Erin. Hello from Burbank California. I love your videos. I love when you take us out. I don’t go out much due to cancer complications. But your channel is no 1! 🥰 Hope you get thousands of subscribers very soon. God bless you Hugs, Ruthie
@@touchoflighthomesteadmexico Thank you so much, Erin. I so appreciate your blessing and prayers. I have been really sick. I have continued watching your videos and lives when I can due to my health. I was notified of your message and the other messages and prayers the kind other fans sent to me . I am so thankful. Congratulations on your new home. Sending you all many hugs. God bless you and your beautiful family. You are always in my prayers. Much love, Ruthie
Yum, it looks so good! It's one of my favorite things to eat. I make with shredded chicken and slices of avocado salted. I also put onions inside and on top.
Silent viewer here and love watching your videos, such a lovely family❤watching from Long Beach in southern California close to where your husband grew up in Wilmington
I've been holding off saying anything bc who am I to give an opinion? But, I just wouldn't feel right if I didn't say something. First, please watch Raleigh Link before getting a horse. For the safety of the horse(s) you get and for your family. I like Free Spirit Equestrian as well. The pen (I think you've pointed to the one next to the other two) you have is probably not great for a horse. I personally think it's too small but there are some elements that are going to end up endangering the horse too. Horses do need space, nit just to be ridden and penned but to wander and graze. I love your content and I've learned so much! Thank you for opening your lives up. It's been educational journey for me.
Hola Erin! I love your videos and you have such a beautiful family. I love that your kids have such a great appetite, not to mention Pipi.. lol. I was born in Zaragoza, Coahuila MX but was brought to the USA when I was only 1 yr old and raised in Texas, I still live here. May God keep blessing you and your family and praying you get a beautiful horse soon because you deserve it. Hugs 🙏❤️🤗
Hi! I look forward to new and am trying to catch up with older videos. I have shared your life with friends and family and they too find it interesting. My husband has family that lives in a rancho outside of Guadalajara. They’ve tried to get us to go visit. Now for sure we want to go! Looking forward to watching more videos. We live south of San Antonio Tx in a small town. Nothing compares to life in Mexico. ❤
😋😋😋 excelentes enchiladas cada día aprendiendo de la gastronomía de México 👍 por acá en San Luis Potosí les decimos tacos rojos excelente video de la vida diaria de una brillante madre y ama de casa 🙏🌹🤗👋
Yummy, girl I tried Frijoles with the chorizo my husband and kid loves it. I always make Frijoles but never mash them or blend them with Chorizo only when making Frijoles Charros. Very good girl. I love it to. Thanks for the video love i love the fresh meat I wish we had that here I mean we can lol but have to buy a cow or pig..
Wow … I saw you on RU-vid and it caught my interest, so I started watching it and I started with the Vlog for meet the family and I about fell off my chair when you mentioned the town Wilmington that’s where I’m from because when watching your video I realize the husband reminds me of somebody from Wilmington lol .. I love your channel and I love the children and I love everything about your channel even though you’re not Hispanic you seem like a kindred spirit. Hope you’re able to read my message.. Tell your husband Wilmas in the house .🙌🏽lol
I love to see your channel grow❤❤❤ shows you don’t need to be fake to be successful. I hope you continue to grow! Is your Rancho all family owned? I’m in Florida. When I cook with the chillies, they always tell me to remove the seeds. Is that not necessary?? I’ve been living a lie! lol
I stumbled on to your channel and just love your way of living, the ranch and the love of people all around you. I love the fact that everything is so fresh and nothing comes packaged. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve gone grocery shopping and bought packaged meat and it was bad. Now I just buy fresh what I need but usually for the next two weeks. Quick question why do you have to buy what you need just for the day and not for the rest of the week? Love your channel and your beautiful family..best of luck and keep going..!!!❤❤
It depends on where you go to school. If you’re from a small town it’s the same as in Mexico. You know everyone there. I grew up in a small town and we knew everyone. Generations ☺️not just in Mexico. 😊
Those enchiladas look yummy!! I make my own tortillas with Maseca (they don't taste the same for some reason) but so far, I haven't found the chile nor the cheese used to make them. We wanna see the Choco-Milks!! 🥲 Thank you for sharing your life with us 🥰
Hello Erin, I found your channel a few days ago and I have been watching nonstop. I was born and raised in Mexico City, got married, and moved to San Diego, CA. then went back with 3 of my kids and lived in Monterrey for about 5 years until my oldest finished high school, and sadly I separated from my husband and moved back to California, by then I had already 4 kids, the last one was born in McAllen, TX. now we live in Michigan (Ann Arbor) with my four kids, I love watching your videos, I never lived in the rancho, but even when I visit my family in CDMX I can feel how the food is so organic and delicious. One thing I want to say is that you have a lot to offer to the people in your community, like opening a group for kids who would like to learn English, it doesn't even have to be too elaborate, even just teaching some songs, conversation, vocabulary using flashcards, etc. I was a teacher at our local kindergarten before I had my last kid. Felicidades y mucho exito!
Hi ❤️ thank you for reaching out and it makes me so happy you enjoy the vlogs. My cousin lives near Ann arbor. We will be there in August to visit him and his girls. Thank you for the suggestion or an English class for kids. Your right I should try and if it's for kids I think I won't feel a lot of pressure it would just be fun. Have a blessed day
Yummy!!!! We LOVE authentic Mexican food. I would really love to see a salsa making video. Your kids are so sweet and wonderful ❤️ we live in the mountains of Colorado at 9,000 feet above sea level.
Thank you very much for showing the lady making tortillas I loved watching that. It made want a tortilla 😋 enjoyed looking at the fresh slab of meat hanging. Thank you for sharing what things cost. I wish there was a hotel there so we could spend a month in the Rancho enjoying that beautiful simple life. You make it look relaxing. I wish there was a place here in the states to buy fresh corn tortillas like the ones you showed in this video. God Bless you and your beautiful family. 🙏🏼🥰
That's how I how I Learned to make Enchiladas from My Nena❤ Enchiladas are easy to make but my least food I like to cook. Just because I burn my fingers rolling them Up! Thank You for your videos ❤
Why the need to prepare lunch if the kiddos only go half day? I would think they could just eat at home when they’re done for the day. I’m watching from Fort Worth Texas! Love your content!
Hi Erin! Saludos de Albuquerque, NM. I Love to see how you have adapted to rancho living. Its simple but a lot better quality of life. Are your plans to live there forever? Or so you want to come back to the states?
I’m watching from Northern California, but what kind of cheese do you use for the enchiladas and what kind of peppers I really want to make that. ❤❤ it looks amazing.
I love enchiladas! Those are Jalisco style, but you can also find the baked, creamy-cheesy kind in bigger cities too. They are called "enchiladas suizas" 😋🙋♂
If you feel comfortable answering, would you tell how much money you spend on average in one day to feed your family? I’m curious how it compares to U.S.
Remember that jitomate, has no "N" in it, say it like this.. He-toe-ma-tay, try to train yourself out of that bad habit of saying "heen-toe-ma-tay" you're doing good tho!...also try saying "rancho" like this.. RAW-n-cho instead of "RAN-cho".
What happens if both parents are working in another town and not able to take lunch to school for their kids? Also, I don’t want to alarm you, but you should be careful with how much of your rancho and home you show and talk about, you’d be surprised how easily people can find out where you live just based on tiny small details & there’s some scary people out here in the world.
