The 'gentleman in the middle' is the band leader, Tim Purcell, who is Sammie's (blonde) father. The other girl is Maggie. Bass player is Scott King (now deceased), drums is Johnny Pike. Guitar is Toby Ruckert.
One thing to keep in mind Jeff is that this band did very little rehearsal back then they just went out and sang many songs were done the first time on stage they were told to prepare on their own then would sing it as a group on stage first time to me that's unbelievable teenage kids not proffesionals
Ah, so surely you've picked up on her almost ever-present, warm, peaceful smile. It is not showcased in this vid so much, but look for it. I hope she keeps it for life; everyone who experiences it will be better off.
WOW! These guys and gals are really good! 🤯 I'm looking at more of their videos. Your right Jeff, it's all about the vocals with this group. And the Go-Go's were insane when they were starting out in L.A.😊

Your comments seem to always be spot on! I don't know how anyone can listen to this and not feel happy - especially if you watch Sammie. She is grinning and just having fun through the whole thing. When you get to Seven Bridges Road in a few weeks you will hear Sammie and Tim sing together and it is absolutely amazing as you can only hear one voice which is neither Tim nor Sammie. You may not know this but Belinda Carlisle went to Newbury Park High School back when I was there although she went by Belinda Kurczeski then. As I recall she was on the song leader team. I don't recall ever interacting with her though - NPHS back then was very crowded as Westlake High School hadn't opened yet - so it wasn't like it was easy to get to know everyone. I was told years later that she didn't like her high school years, which was the opposite for me.
Yes, they would have a big rehearsal weekend at the beginning of summer. After that, when everyone had time, Tim would call up the twisted taco and they would just show up and play, usually on a Sunday evening.
Oop I used the word ch.n..l so RU-vid deleteted my comment . GoGos official YT thingy has this one and Vaction by F&F on their playlist of favorite covers.
