Lance Hoppen left a lengthy comment at F&F praising this cover. Also positive remarks from the songwriter John Hall and current Orleans drummer Brady Spencer. I knew from what you said earlier that you would love this cover.

This is one of those, "What's not to like?" songs. The sentiments it is predicated upon, the genuine and innocent joy it evokes coupled with the mastery of the group create a nye on near to, if not, perfect storm of a feeling known as happiness!

the 2 pickers in the beginning are awesome musicians that always add soooooooo much to this group. their intensity is evident. the way this group reimagines these tunes is such a breath of fresh air.

i agree with you on the harmonies guitars etc. But also what makes this song as well on the original is the bass line. This bass player did it perfectly. He needs to be credited. Again I am a keyboard player, bass and pedal steel guitar. My hats off to all but especially the bass player which makes that song groove. Later

Thanks Jeff for reacting to F&F music. If they ever decide to do another live show, go see it you won’t be disappointed I noticed you didn’t mention the bass on this song (Richard Meter) who is more or less the replacement for Scott King,he did such a great job on this song. Thanks again for reacting

Scott had been Rick Meeder's replacement on the Mustangs. The book Ear Candy explains why Rick had to leave. (Tim's fault,lol) Rick has toured for many years with A1A the officially Buffet endorsed Jimmy Buffet tribute band. He was glad to help out his old friends in his spare time when Scott passed. Seems to be really enjoying it. Something different besides playing Margaritaville etc all the time. Ross King plays bass on about half of the studio recordings, Rick played most of the Reunion Concert.

Yes, this is one of my favorites too (but that isn't saying much - I have about 20 of theirs I would say that about!). I am surprised you didn't mention the bass on this one. It isn't Scott King but every time I am listening for it I hear it right where it should be. I do hope you are enjoying this journey through their stuff. Believe it or not, you have only listened to about 10% of their music videos that are up on RU-vid. Out of those there are probably 5 or 6 I don't care for and usually I just don't like the song.

Everyone misses Scott, but Rick Meeder is an outstanding professional bass player in his own right. Lance Hoppen singled out Ricks bass track because he said the other bass players he'd heard play it outside Orleans didn't get how it should be played.

Tim has explained a number of times in yt comments and on patreon that the vocal tracks are recorded individually and then they sing around the mic while listening to the finished recording to make the video.

John Hall and Lance Hoppen band, Orleans, I believe lance’s brother was in it too, but John Hall co-wrote that song! Hall was a great guitar player, listen to “Crazy” by the John Hall band, it’s a great tune and John absolutely wears a guitar out in it!

Johnny 'One Take" Pike practices drumming by listening to the song over and over while going about his day. Comes in and nails the first take here having not played the song in years. Scott told the story of John coming to a gig to play a new song they hadn't rehearsed. "Did you practice it a lot?" "Nah. just listened to it on the way here ".
