@@thierryhenry674 right so by your logic just because you say and predict that vidic couldn't play in that system (which is completely unfair because he was never needed to play in that style and you'll never know whether he was capable of doing so so you can't really make that opinion) you think stones is a better player than vidic. It's like saying ederson is better than cech because he distributes with his feet and cech never had to.
@@jackrodwell4967 Ederson is twice the player Cech was. Football has become a lot more advanced. Modern keepers and modern defenders are a lot more technical. Buffon would be considered rubsh in the modern standard. Neuer is a million times better. The oldest, most original iPhone might be the most innovative and the best technology at the time. But iPhone 15 is so much more advanced than that.
@@thierryhenry674 that first sentence is outrageous. You can't compare advancing technology to the advancement of skill in sports. Technology we are still discovering and bettering. You could say that due to the improved technology and research that players are now more advanced physically due to improved knowledge of physiology and anatomy. However the pure skill of a footballer doesn't just improve with generations. It's like with tyson fury, he's the greatest heavyweight of our generation however he wouldn't last at all In the generation of frank bruno, lennox lewis, Ali, tyson etc. Just because the footballers are better "athletes" as such nowadays doesn't mean they are better footballers. I'm pretty sure Owen and lineker said the same thing that back in the day you would have way better pure or skilled footballers than nowadays who are just athletes really.
@@GNAL1610 I agree, for me Stam and Vidić are the 2 best CBs to ever play in England but unfortunately because of Rio's longevity and Baised Brexit media keep pushing Terry and Rio as the best 2 but it's actually Stam and Vidić.
At the end of these. Y’all should have the three lineups side by side so we can debate in the comments. Screenshot of some team holder online with all the selections would be the way I’d go about doing it
@@jckson0127it’s close. Walker last 2 or 3 seasons been immense but Neville had more good seasons overall imo. Walker at Spurs and first few seasons at City was very error prone
Nah I’m sorry but not sorry, STONES OVER VIDIC OR KOMPANY????????? I’ve never seen such horrific, and dead football knowledge ever bruv 😭😭😭 this is horriddddddd!!!! Reev and Lewis need to answer that choice because it’s outrageous 💀💀 the fact Tom and Theo didn’t even argue that, instead they said “fairs” LIKE WHATTTT 💀💀💀💀 I’m not even surprised by Lewis tbh he’s got the worst knowledge out there
I love this podcast but hate the new format. It seems that all you do is list. I know it probably benifits views by clips such like this but c'mon man, what happened to the old pitchside. You used to bring guest and disscus all fixtures, now it seems you only focus on arsenal, city, liverpool, newcaltle and shit on chelsea and man united. I like some list and rankings but it seems that that is everething this podcast now does. And what happened to unpopular oppinions in a football boot (that episode with specs was amazing)? Make an episode that is acctualy lisanable to (stop argueing with Lewis), and not list focused. I don't know how everybody else feels but I will keep commenting this. U can make list for clips on stream and such. Love
GK - Peter Schmeichel RB - Kyle Walker CB - Rio Ferdinand CB - Jaap Stam (honourable mention: Duncan Edwards) LB - Denis Irwin DM - Roy Keane CM - Paul Scholes CM - Bobby Charlton (honourable mention: Bryan Robson & De Bruyne) LW - Cristiano Ronaldo ST - Wayne Rooney (honourable mention: Andy Cole & Cantona) RW - George Best
What’s wrong with reeves sterling shout? Sterling is in the top 3 goal scorers under pep, only behind Messi and aguero. Sterling was class when he played for man city! And carried England during that time as well (besides Kane)
John stones was a nothing player for like 5 years but one great year when he’s playing in dm and dropping back means he’s in the best ever lineup. Insane
The CORRECT team: GK: Van De Sar RB: Kyle Walker CB: Rio Ferdinand CB: Nemanja Vidic LB: Patrice Evra CDM: Roy Keane CM: Paul Scholes CM: Kevin De Bruyne LW: Wayne Rooney ST: Sergio Aguero RW: Cristiano Ronaldo
This type of content is so generic and lazy, every other football podcast is doing the same thing it’ll be most overrated XI again next week. Be a bit more original
GK - Schmeichel Rb - Walker Cb - Kompany Cb- Vidic Lb- Evera Cdm - Yaya Cm - Kdb Cm - David Silva Rw - Beckham St - Aguero Lw - Ronaldo Explanation Schmeichel is Befor my time but he was just a great keeper it's him or Van der sar. It's close between walker and Garry but walker just has so much pace. Kompany and Vidic have both won Prem POTY, Ferdinand hasn't, Kompany led city through an era where we weren't dominate and was absolutely fantastic, a great leader and has a to have one of the best goals scored by a Cb Kdb and David silva were just incredible for city and under rated by rival fans, both had less time in the league than players like Scholes and yet they both have better/Similar stats, im someone who also uses the eye test and both Scholes and these two are just incredible but for me David and kdb are better Lw - Ronaldo, had to be on this list, Balondor winer and whilest city have some contenders again not being bias Ronaldo is just the best, normally he is on the right but I wanted to put Beckham in aswell as he was insane, bend it like Beckham is just iconic and he was just fantastic Striker is just Aguero, I think he is criminally under rated, most goals against top 6 clubs by a large margin, Rooney who was the other option has 20 (off the top of my head), Aguero has 54, Aguero has one of if not the best goals to minutes ratio and could score from anywhere, most hatrics aswell and has the most iconic moment is the prem and a contender for in the football world, and yet he people overlook him, he gets in this list
correct team for anyone wondering CR7 Aguero Rooney Yaya KDB Keane Evra Stam Rio Irwin Big Pete any mention of Stones or Sterling and you shouldn’t be podcasting on the topic of football
It’s combined team of all time not just premier league era. So it should be: GK: Schmeichel RB: Gary Neville CB: Rio Ferdinand CB: Vidic LB: Dennis Irwin CM: Roy Keane CM: Scholes CAM: Sir Bobby Charlton LW: Cristiano Ronaldo ST: Wayne Rooney RW: George Best No city player gets in the all time team. Only Kevin De Bruyne comes close
I would have kompany over Ferdinand but not a bad list Kompany won Prem Poty in 2012 and played fantastically for a city that weren't dominate, im not saying he is clear just better imo
People give too much credit to the old united squad tbh. Won everything when competition in the prem was arguably at its weakest, its just their dominance was around the time most millenials/young gen z were growing up so people look at them with rose tinted glasses.
