I’m curious to see what you come up with. I have a number of problems with my 09a. I’ve serviced the fluid (twice actually because I did I right when I started having problems and then had to do it again when I changed our all the solenoids). It shifts great now, but it’s taking 5-10 min to go into drive when first start the car. Goes into reverse no problem.
Will let you know. This is an ongoing saga. In addition to the solenoids going bad, apparently the wiring harness, temp sensor, & some other sensor can go bad, causing issues. And there are mechanical issues… pump wears out, clutch packs wear out, brake wears out, pistons crack…
@@CliffjumperCars I appreciate it. I love the updates you’ve done to the R32 and your daughters Jetta. That corrado is sick too. I hope to have rebuild and restore a VR6 from the mk3 or mk4 era someday. Right now I have my baby (03 gti manual made into a 20th/337 build), an 05 gti that’s been fixed up with the 20th trim and leather along with metal coolant flanges and non essential system deletes to make it more reliable as my daily (the car with the tiptronic issues - this will go to my oldest son when he starts driving in the next 2 year), and an anniversary 05 GLI that I am restoring (this will go to my daughter when she starts driving). I will likely manual swap both autos at some point because I hate how finicky the autos are. All are 1.8t so I have part compatibility and working knowledge when I need to help them… Cheers brother!
