A GREAT series. Excellent performances. My favorite is Steven MacIntosh's. He's humility, sincerity, sensitivity, kindness, and loving patience all rolled into one. Exquisite!
This was really good, somehow more mature I feel than Dicken's earlier works, the characters tend to be a bit more subdued and less like comic exaggerations. I don’t think the whole secret identity mission thing was as interesting though as the love triangle with Lizzie Hexam. The story is bleak, literally starts at night with a body being pulled from the river but it ends so well. Dickens was a genius.
There was a documentary on the DVD release called Dickens: The Final Chapter which gave some behind the scenes and also explored the themes and world of the novel, but I don't thnk there were any cast interviews, so I'm not sure if there's any more cast interview material beyond what's in this promo.
