Hi Gary, we did moor there. We had two nights by the bridge and walked into the village. We decided not to film anything as it was my birthday. We also stopped there in 2021 and the bakery on its own was enough to make us want to go back!
I have a secret. (not anymore though LOL) Every time you post a new video, I always, ALWAYS, check out to see which shirt Michael is wearing. LOL. Which got me to thinking (scary). It would be cool if you had shirts of your completed maps that says "Been There. Done That" on them, indicating that you have been to all of the places shown on the map.
It is beautiful at Dogdyke, I know someone who lived there who used to breed goats. 🐐 We love the jets at Coningsby as they frequently fly low over the bombing range in The Wash and our home in Sutton Bridge. I am thoroughly enjoying your travels.
an aluminum expanding painters pole (for reaching high places with rollers) works pretty well for a light weight mast for getting antennas etc. higher.
When you get to Lincoln the first factory on the right hand side is where I work. You might hear and feel the forge hammers. We make CAT and John Deere crankshafts.
We had the yellow weather warning and then not a drop of rain! 😂 I too have binged Benidorm - my friend got me into bargain loving Brits during lockdown and that led to Benidorm. You just can’t stop watching once you start. It’s addictive 😂😂😂
Not heard of Bargain Loving Brits... not sure I should tell Michael about it. Same here, after all that worry about a thunders storm we had no rain either.
Ah Bardney. I went to a music festival at Tupholme Manor Park in 1971. It ran so late we missed the last train from Lincoln and spent the night in the bus station.
What grand weather you had for cruising down the witham, my miss spent youth river from Bardney to Tattershall Bridge, i call in woodhall every Friday and your right that cake shop Yummy . Thank you for sharing. All the best .
Hiya folks, great vid as usual. A quick history bite, You mention Woodhall Spa and Bardney?. 617 (Dambuster squadron) flew the dams raid from Scampton where they were formed and based, but then moved to Woodhall Spa, where, along with 9 squadron from Bardney, they undertook the operations to sink the Tirpitz. They also flew a great many particularly dangerous operations because of the skill and aptitude shown in operation "Chastise" (aka the dams raid). Great to know you`re cruising in Lincolnshire, as it`s one of my favourite counties in the UK. We`ve often holidayed there near Horncastle, (aka the "antiques capital of the UK"). There is still evidence of the Horncastle canal, near Tesco`s. If William wants to look at a Lancaster bomber, why not take a trip to East Kirkby where the "Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre" is, and have a look at "Just Jane", which the centre are restoring back to flying condition, and will be the 3rd airworthy Lanc in the world. The centre also has a B25 Mitchell, which was originally in the Hendon air museum, but is now resident at EK, where they plan to have up and running, and along with Jane, taking people on taxi rides around the airfield. Their B25 was also used in the film "Hanover Street" starring Harrison Ford and Christopher Plummer. They also have the only ground running Mosquito in the UK and Europe, which sadly, will never be able to be made airworthy again, but does occaisionally do taxi rides, but these are expensive, as it`s only a twin seat aircraft. so the taxi passenger has to pay for everything. If you wish to know more about the centres work on restoring Jane back to flight, "Neville Wheeldon" has a youtube channell with over 250 videos of their progress, and puts out a regular Saturday night video to keeps us updated. A taxi ride around the airfiield in Jane will now cost around £450 each, and is a truly amazing experience, of which my wife treated me to for my 60th birthday 6 years ago. I do plan to do another, maybe next year.
Ah, Tattershall bridge Moorings. ....my sister lived down the road, about the 3rd house down. Happy memories, Has anybody picked you up on your pronunciation of Tattershall yet? It's a "sh" in the middle, rather than "Tatters hall". :)
The probably have, I even said it two ways in this edit hoping that I got it right at least once! What a wonderful place to live. I bet she really misses it.
It looks like a lovely waterway but nothing can beat the Fenland ones! Those 'planes frequently fly over my bungalow and they shatter the peace of living miles from anywhere, don't like them they're so noisy! Perhaps I'm in the minority but I think that your videos are much better without any music. Enjoy Lincoln.
The euro fighter maybe outdated but we are stuck with it till at least 2040 prob 2050 so will only get worse .tattersall lakes is a great place to holiday and see them plus the f35 ect .loved it there will be going back
A pity they don't have lockers to put back packs safely away while you visit. I've been to galleries where they have that facility available. Disappointing as you tried twice, Michael.
