Our new rocket is equipped with the ability to land | Buffalo MAX

All our knowledge from the previous rockets, especially that from Buffalo Pro from the last video, went into the design of this final landing model rocket.
Soon, it will feature everything you could possibly need to land it. See for yourself in the video!
Here is a brief list of things the rocket is equipped with, from which all had been carefully self-designed:
Avionics:
- C/One flight computer:
- Accelerometer & Gyroscope (BMI088)
- 2x Barometer (BMP388 & BMP390)
- Radio module (HC12)
- Radar
- Raspberry PI 3B+ (to evaluate data from the radar)
Hardware:
- Airbrakes (one with the radar)
- Aluminium landing legs
- Spring loaded, cable tie holdback, ni chrome wire deployed
parachute system
- Modified parachute
- Ascent stage (fin-stabilized)
- Thrust blocking system (TBS) (to be enabled to turn off and on solid rocket motors)
- Thrust vector control (TVC) (to be able to steer the rocket in a landing scenario)
- Reaction/gyro wheel (passively stabilize yaw and pitch axis, and actively stabilize roll)

You need to add a metal plate like you have. Moving it one direction has a larger hole for takeoff, a middle hole which is medium sized, and pulling the plate in the opposite direction will result in a smaller hole. This will give you 3 speeds... with the smallest hole giving you landing thrust. Landing thrust won't be enough to make it accellerate up, but help it ease down.

Very interesting idea, I like that thank you! We have to look into this, but might not be able to use it as the speed one would need to change between de different hole sizes might be too little ...

@@jmspaceR Then between the holes, add a slot between them so you always have upward thrust until the next hole is hit. ;)

Wir nutzen D9-3 Motoren von Raketenmodellbau Klima. Diese reichen für Tests und kleinere Flüge aus. Für diese neue Rakete werden wir wohl eigens ein Propulsion-System earbeiten müssen ...

@@nerdtronaut die Idee ist prinzipiell echt gut. Haben wir bis jetzt bereits auch so gemacht für unsere früheren Raketen. Bei dieser ist es leider nur schon so das wir dabei bereits über acht Antriebe benötigen würden um diese noch flugfähig zu machen... EIn anderes Problem liegt dann auch bei der Schubsteuerung acht geclusterer Motoren, sowie der Schubrichtungssteuerung. Nichtsdestotrotz, danke für den Vorschlag!

Yes of course I have seen it! I like his system too, but we will stick to our plan, hoping that our system will enable a model rocket to land, as well. Our system can reap one major advantage, as it can reduce the engines' thrust to be completely diminished when the slider is closed. Still, thank you for your recommendation!

Ja ich kenne das System auch. Ich finde sein System auch super. Wir haben zwar nicht ganz den maximalen thrust, können dafür aber im Vergleich zu seinem System auf null Schub runterthrottln. Bei mehreren Antrieben kann das durchaus vom Vorteil sein ...
