Just watched this episode and I am very sorry you are having all these issues. You would not expect all these issues with a new rig from Vanleigh. You would think being a product associated with Tiffin the quality would be top notch. They are slamming these things together so fast now that it is all about getting them to the dealers. Hope they will take care of you guys. Health wise you guys don't need these issues and don't deserve this. No one needs the stress of issues while trying to enjoy life. Thank you though for sharing your issues as we are in the process of looking at new RV's to purchase since we no longer have our Class C. It will either be a diesel pusher or a larger towable. I know this video tells me to cross this brand off our list. Good luck with your issues, getting them all fixed. Take care and stay safe and healthy..
Hi Jim! Thank you for your kind words of support. It has been frustrating to say the least but we’ve been hearing from others that they are experiencing a lot of problems too, in other brands as well. So I would be sure to get an inspection even if it’s new. On the bright side Vanleigh is standing up to the customer service that we heard about and sending us parts without question. Now just to get them all resolved. Good luck with your new rv search! Maybe we will cross paths out on the road!
It’s so sad to hear about all these issues in brand new rigs! Unfortunately, this is where the industry is currently, building these rigs as fast as they can just to get them to the dealers to sell! It’s so very important to do a thorough walk through prior to signing any contract, ensuring that all unsatisfactory items are corrected prior to signing the papers! Document all repairs you have to fix and any money you spent to do a on the road fix. Once everything is satisfactorily repaired to your liking, then you can present a bill to your dealer with documentation for all out of pocket costs. Include everything you purchased in the documentation! Additionally, I always suggest that you should have a certified RV inspector check over your new rig prior to purchasing. The money you might spend is insurance for you that the rig is in good shape and road ready! Hope all works out satisfactorily and you can begin a trouble free travel with your new rig.
Hi Tim! Thank you for the support and info! Yes yes! We should have done all of that and we are documenting everything! Hopefully others can learn from our mistakes. Thankfully the manufacturer is communicating and sending parts readily! Now to fix! Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment so thoroughly! Take care-Tammy
It’s not just the ones they are building now! We bought ours new in 2019!! It had so many issues, we lost count!! Worst was a water leak around front seals that caused our front storage area to have water damage and everything we had in it was molded!! They finally decided it was a manufacturing defect, and kept our camper for 6 months to fix it!! Of course, Heartland told us our ruined belongings was our problem!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬
As full-timer RVers (5 years), we talk to a lot of folks with new RVs. Many of them have problems with their new RV, but your RV seems over the top. I feel bad for you all. We currently travel in a 45' motorhome. We wanted something smaller to do our summer travel in. We looked at a Vanleigh Beacon, it was beautiful but too big. We wanted our new RV to be less than 40' and we wanted a toy hauler. We purchased a Grand Design Momentum 351MS-R. We do not have it yet, but based on the video, I am really glad we went with Grand Design. .
Hi John! Nice to connect with veteran full timers! We loved our grand design and I’m sure you will too! We actually looked at that model too! Yep, the problems don’t seem to end, but fortunately Vanleigh has great communication and is good about sending out parts! The hard part is getting it serviced. But we will get there and continue on! Happy travels and thank you so much for taking the time to comment! Tammy and Scott
What a pain in the arse!! It’s such a common theme these days - people who build things or sell things having zero pride in the quality of their work or the veracity of their claims. It’s actually a surprise when genuine care is evident in a person’s work. My brother-in-law is a caravan builder, and just yesterday, he begun the work on my little camper van. While at the factory, he showed me some of the other vans he’s working on, and his commitment to ‘doing things right’ was obvious. He actually cares about the quality of his work. I hope you get everything sorted very soon so you can focus on your travel adventures instead. Take care, you two.
Hey Peter! Maybe we need your brother in law to build us an rv 😉. It does seem that quality workmanship is far and few between these days. We will figure it out and keep on adventuring as best we can! Thank you for your endless support!
Sorry to hear about all that. I ordered a 2022 Thor Chatuea, (class c) and have had nothing but problems with it since before we left the dealership. My entrance door flew open as we were driving down I35, in Texas, leaving the dealership. And it was adjusted (due to closing problems with), before we left. Got to our first campsite, and there was water all over the bedroom floor. Apparently, it had been leaking before we left the dealership, and didn’t notice it until 2 weeks later. The water pump is located under the bed, so the bed frame kept it contained until it couldn’t anymore. I, too, didn’t have it inspected. I have a list of at least 20 issues that need fixed, most of which is the factory’s doing (or undoing should I say). It is currently back at the dealership waiting on repairs. This time, i will have it inspected to make sure that all the issues has been addressed and fixed. I feel your pain. Hope that you can get everything taken care of. Good luck. May you be blessed with good health, safe travels, and many many happy memories.
Hi Melissa! Sorry to hear about all of your issues too! Hope they can get you fixed up quick! We are dealing with ours as we get mobile techs etc…. I would absolutely have it inspected after they finish as more of our issues popped up within weeks after buying too. Wishing you all of the best so that you can get out and enjoy your new rv!
We are so sorry to hear about all the issues with the new rig, what a nightmare! It was so wonderful to see Luke and Liam! ❤️ Aww, they have my heart! Love the campgrounds and so awesome it's a birdy location too! Plastic liner on the fridge 😂...love you so, so much my soul sister! Wishing you all the very best in 2022, Happy New Year sweet friends! -Jody
Hi my sweet friends!! Thank you for your support! Hoping it will end soon! I miss my boys so much 💙. Maybe you will meet them all in real life! We love and miss you both. Stay safe and we will look forward to seeing your next adventure!
My take on this is I'm so glad we bought used...all the kinks already addressed! We live full time in a 2005 32' Grand Design Mobile Suite with our girls GS 🐕 Zarya & Fluffy 😺 Cinder! So sorry you are having so many issues and with what I considered top notch in the the RV Industry. Very unsettling....hope thing's pick up for you
Hi Tracy! Nice to connect with another full time RVer! Yes, buying used with all the kinks worked out sounds good to me right about now! We will work through this! Wish us luck 🤞 Safe and happy travels to you! Tammy
I truly feel your pain. We bought a 2021 Cedar Creek 38RTH on Sept 3 of 2021. First day the vacuum and fireplace died. So we hung out in the Colorado area for almost 30 days waiting for parts to come in. Parts came in and we headed to Tennessee to meetup with family, Bedroom slide died first day on the road, next day the Driver side living room slide died. Rear panel on the passenger side has started to fall off. Ladder broke when we were climbing up to check roof.Took it in toa CC authorized dealer for repairs, it has been there since Oct 21 of 2021. Two of the slides have tears on the outside roof. Parts on back order. I understand there will be problems with a new RV but this really shows the lack of QC that they are using on the new systems they build!
Hello! I’m so sorry that all of this is happening to you! We are now dealing with a slide that needs rebuilt and had three of our 6 hydraulic jacks fail and one deployed while traveling! Also, Leaks etc etc…. As we live in ours and the service centers are backed up, we are doing it ourselves or getting help from mobile techs. It’s lucky you were not hurt when the ladder broke! We are grateful that Vanleigh is quick to ship us parts no questions asked, but wow. Who built this thing?! So, we can relate too and are sorry you are not out traveling and enjoying the experience of rving! Yes, these issues are above and beyond for sure. This isn’t our first rv and we’ve never experienced the amount of issues and sloppy workmanship that went into this in our others?! Crazy. Hoping they get yours fixed soon, so you can get out and adventure!! Take care and thank you for letting us know you understand -Tammy
I live in the Denver area and I avoid Cherry Creek State Park. We had pulled in during the night to just sleep in the parking lot in our old 26 foot motorhome and our minivan because we had suddenly become homeless and we paid our entry fee assuming it would cover us for the next day...and they were knocking on our door at 10am, hounding us to pay or leave! We had my adult handicapped daughter with us and we needed to get her up and transfer her to the passenger seat and stow away her wheelchair...and they just kept hounding us to pay or leave! I do not visit Cherry Creek any more...plus that always have what issues with the water there and they seem to close the swim beach every year. We do, however, visit Chattfield State Park to fish, camp and use their dump station...but found that we now need to access the park on the east side because our new 5th wheel won't clear the entrance shack at the main entrance!.
Oh my gosh guys! Shelley and I are so sorry to hear that you're having all those issues with your RV. We really hope that 2022 brings better luck for you guys and that everything can get straightened out in short order for you. Best of luck! Peace and safe travels.
Hi Craig and Shelley! Always nice to see you here! Still dealing with issues, but guessing they have to end at some point, right?! We won’t stop adventuring though! Happy New Year!
Hello!! Thank you! I'm sure we will get through this and have more stories to tell around the campfire! We sure appreciate your kindness and support! Tammy
That's awesome that you came back to the same campsite! Looks like a nice state park! Yay new window!!! I'm impressed that you are working on all the fixes. The air conditioning is insane! I can't believe it's new. And that rust!!! Liam is so cute!!! That fridge does look good! We are experiencing our first major RV life issue this week- I feel your pain! Happy New Year!
Hi guys! The Colorado state parks are great. Lots for your little ones to do too! Still fixing stuff, but it’s got to end at some point?! Sorry to hear you are having issues too. I am always in envy of your older but totally renovated rv 😍. Stay safe and happy happy travels!
Praying that all these RV issues all resolve themselves and no more creep up. Let’s make 2022 positive, and make sure the new rig cooperated and gets the message! Glad you got to spend some quality time with family, that is always good medicine.
Thank you friends! We will take all the prayers we can get! We are trying to stay positive even as the issues continue to crop up. Family time was great!! Hope you both are well and happy New Year adventures await! Hugs-Tammy
Welcome to new RV ownership, you are not alone. Pretty much all RV's being built now have a laundry list of issues that will take months to correct. We spent pretty much all last year getting everything on our new Class A corrected/fixed. Deep breaths are the best advice.
Hi Chad! I’m hearing a lot that we are not alone. I guess we got lucky with our first rv then?! Sorry to hear you’ve been dealing with issues too and yes, deep breaths are a regular occurrence these days 😉 Thanks for sharing your experience-Tammy
I think you just highlighted why I may never buy a new RV, unless I hit the powerball and get an Airstream. It looks like factory QC is entirely nonexistent.
Hello! I think buying used is where it is at! Or an airstream 😉. We seriously considered that option as well. Maybe the next time! Thank you for watching! Happy New Year
I'm so sorry you guys went through this. Most of these issues should have be caught by the dealer. We have a 2019 Grand Design 337 while its been a good rig, I've had to work on the appliances over time and luckily I've been able to fix the issues myself watching RU-vid videos. I tell people who are thinking about getting into RVing, if you don't own a tool box, don't buy a RV because your RV will be at the dealership more than on the road. We are looking at Brinkley Rv for our next rig. The quality seems top notch.
Hi! Oh this was long ago now and we’ve got it all fixed up (knock on wood) and enjoy it now but you are correct about having some tools and the willingness to get your hands dirty especially if it’s your full time home! Good luck with your next rig search! How fun!
I really want to travel…we have a permanent site & our brand new fifth wheel has trim popping off without any travel…I’m so sorry you have issues thank goodness you have the knowledge to fix & diagnose stuff. Good luck getting everything resolved.
Hi Dawn! Congrats on your fifth wheel. It’s nice you have a permanent spot too. Trim popping off is the norm in every one we’ve had 😉. Hopefully that’s as bad as it gets for you! Hope you are able to get out and travel some. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment!
@@TilFurtherNotice we have a few other things…our furnace doesn’t blow warm air into our rig…we have an appointment to get that fixed…if we moved I’m sure I would have to fix more stuff. Hopefully your issues are resolved quickly & most of all correctly!!
@@dawnhoff5322 sorry to hear Dawn! It’s crazy to be how poorly these are constructed and how there seems to be no inspection before they send them out?!
Sorry to watch you have to go through this. We always say there is no perfect rig, but this is a whole new level. We purchased a new rig in 2021 and so far no big enough issue to keep us off the road. You have to learn to be handy. Also you asked if reverse lights were on your rig at the end, yes we have reverse lights and they work! Good luck friends!
Hello! Thank you for your kind words and we are so happy to hear you are not having big issues and can get out there and enjoy! That’s what this is all about. Nice to connect! Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. Happy travels-Tammy
We bought a brand new RV a couple of years ago. Right off the bat when it rained, water was pouring through the air conditioner on the roof. Turned out the tech that looked at it said it was so loose, he could turn it sideways. He also said they forgot to put caulk around the one side of the RV. The faucet was loose. In a two places, they didn't put trim around the inside of the RV. The switch on the tongue jack quit working. The grand finale was it was parked at my house with the slide in. It poured rain one night. A week later I went to put the slide out and it was like Niagara Falls coming over the inside of the slide as I was putting it out. The outside seal was no good and water leaked past it and accumulated on the top of the slide while it was retracted. The roof also leaked in two places. While we were camping at a KOA, it thunderstorm. Water was dripping on our bed. I've probably already put a few hundred dollars into the camper on parts alone, since it's not under warranty anymore. The next camper I buy will be a couple of years old. They make them like junk now.
Hi Gary! I’m so sorry to hear about your rv! We’ve discovered ours now has leaks too. But nothing like your situation! That’s just horrible. I don’t know what is happening in the build process, but it sounds like ours and yours was built so sloppy. We appreciate you taking the time to comment and share your experience with us. Hope you get it all resolved! -Tammy
We are experiencing some issues as well in our 3 year old Forest River. Would love to trade it in but all the new ones seem to have serious issues… like you guys know too well 😩 Good luck and so happy you had some family time! Happy New Year!
Hello again! Sorry to hear about your troubles! Hopefully nothing that ruined your trip! With our experience, I certainly wouldn’t buy hew right now. Yikes! Happy New Year to you! Scott and Tammy
It is a bummer that you are having all those issues, but it's good to see you moving forward. I just happened upon your channel and was rewarded with your stop at Cherry Creek. I, too, grew up in the neighborhood just south of there. It brought back many memories of riding our BMX bikes all over the area. Hope the issues get better! Cheers
Wow we are so sorry for all the problems we keep adding to the list. We hope everything gets better. We have a friend that an rv tech if you want some one to check it out and he’s the best so far.
Hi guys! Thank you so much for the kind words and support! We sure appreciate that friend offer too! We are working with a mobile tech right now, so we will see how that goes. Happy New Year!
Sorry about your issues. I like to watch rv videos get a notion of what to expect. We are keeping our home but would like to travel. We decided to sell our boat and start looking for a towable rv or a pop up with a bathroom heat and air. Since we will be only traveling for a week or two at time and we don’t have to buy a new truck. We might look for a used one.
Hi Elizabeth! Thank you! We are working through them! Used is a great idea. Maybe all if the kinks will have been worked out 😉. Good luck and thank you for watching-Tammy
Oh my goodness, we are so sorry you are going through all this with the new rig. It's scary, since we are on the look for our "new" rig. Through it all, you both always seem optimistic with a smile. I do really appreciate how real yall keep it ♥️! Honey Bear and the Rogers misses yall. Keep smiling, yall will eventually get all the kinks out..In the meantime you both are picking up new trades...RV inspectors/repairers! Wishing Yall Safe Travels! Come see us again soon!
Hi Tammy!! So nice to hear from you! We certainly are picking up new skills 😂. Thank you for the kind words and we sure miss you all!! Good luck on finding the next rv! That’s exciting. Keep in touch -Tammy
Sorry to hear about all these issues. Unfortunately Vanleigh makes a really nice interior and that’s about it, everything else like the garbage lippert frame, cheap parts and cost cutting engineering to make affordable it’s not worth the hype. We have friends that switched to a Riverstone Reserve. Built like a tank. We have an Arctic Fox, low volume another tank. Vanleigh has great customer service unfortunately that won’t fix the issues they’ve caused themselves and customers
Hi there! Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment! We are disappointed indeed. Attic fox is definitely built well! Enjoy your travels! -Tammy
Happy New Year! Yes, it’s really cold here in Colorado. And lots of white stuff called SNOW. Enjoy all that Florida sunshine. They even had snow in Gold Beach. Lynn
We also started in a new rv back in 2018. By law I'm not allowed to discuss the settlement with the manufacturer. That should be a big indication that we feel your pain....lol. Just found your channel and think it's great. See you I out there.
Hi Dan! Sorry to hear about your issues too! I guess you can relate 😉. Hope it’s all resolved and you are able to adventure now! Thank you for your support and for following along!
Sorry you guys got a lemon... 🍋 Dealer should have inspected the unit better as well. 🤦♀️ Sounds like a Friday unit where the workers were only thinking about how they were going to party over the weekend.... 🤪
Thank you! Dealer sent it out the door with missing and broken parts. Thankfully the manufacturer is helping us replace parts. I like your idea of how it was built 😂. Thanks for always cheering me up! 🤗
Sorry for the inconvenience you guy's are experiencing with your new Rig. But I like your upbeat attitude towards all of the challenges your facing. Hopefully the dealership will do the right thing. Please keep us updated. Safe Travel's to you both. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Hi Don! Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment a supportive kind message! The dealership hasn’t done a single thing for us, but fortunately the manufacturer is helping where they can! Happy New Year-Scott and Tammy
Hello! Yikes! This doesn’t sound fun. Our first RV didn’t have these endless issues, I guess we got lucky?! Hope you still are finding a way to adventure! Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment-Tammy
You guys ❤💔❤ you're so chilled despite it all xxx . but i'm sitting here in my house so sad about you guys being sold something so damaged. .. I am sure by now it's all sorted as this was back before Thanksgiving but boy oh boy .... 😢😢🙈🙈 The RV Centre you got this from hopefully gave you a fully functioning Brand new ... no rust .. working toilet .. working heater RV. Makes me wonder how they're in business 😢 Anyways ... I am wishing you both a very happy new year and hoping all of the Rig problems are behind you xxxx ❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Claire!! Trust me, I’ve had plenty of break downs over this and not so chill moments 😂. Unfortunately, the dealer hasn’t done a thing to help, but our manufacturer Vanleigh has been great at communicating with us and sending parts. But.. nope, the problems have not ended l. We are still fixing things and dealing with issues. Argh! I’ve got to believe it will get better soon! Hope you are well and Happiest New Year wishes to you too!!!
Catching up! Holy Groundhog Day with the same camp spot and the new 5th wheel! Whoa....eagles there. Just an awesome spot. Wait...SNAKES? So glad we haven't dealt with that in the new house...we've had a few other issues... This feels like you bought a lemon of an RV...we massively feel for you. Liam!!!!! Adorbs...just...adorbs. Jasper, you can be a fantastic content manager while your mommy & daddy go through the long renovation process for your new fifth wheel.
Hi my friend! Your comments always brighten our day! So, you are dealing with some new home issues too? The new RV definitely hasn't been all fun and games, although we hope that the issues will get resolved soon (more since this video) and we can focus on more fun aspects of RV life once again ;) Liam is a cutie! Thank you I sure wish Jasper could help me with content 😂 Hope you and your family are doing great!!! Appreciate you - Tammy
Wow, so sorry to hear about the issues that you guys are experiencing. We appreciate your honesty even though these issues are hurtful to you. I have heard about the numerous issues that users are having with their trailers and because of those reasons, if I ever purchased one I would definitely hire an inspector.
Hello! Thank you for your kind words and support! Still working through issues but I’m hoping it will get better! I would absolutely hire an inspector and wish we did! Good luck on your search and thanks so much for taking the time to comment! -Tammy
Hello! Yes, frustrating for sure. I have seen that about the hangers and have added it to our list for pre departure inspection 😏. Appreciate you watching!
Hi Charles! Thank you for stopping by. Not sure what the heck happened with this rig but thankfully Vanleigh has been good at sends us parts! Take care -Tammy
It's like my dad would say," they make them to sell, not to last". That's the way our country is going, people don't care what kind of quality they put out. Not talking about the company, talking about workers. So sad to see our country going down the drain.
I feel your pain!! We traded in our old pull behind for a brand new pull behind because we was tired of problems. But we have had more problems with the new camper than we had with the old one!! It’s made my husband hate camping! 😢😢 but I love camping!
Hi Lynn! I’m sorry to hear you are having issues too! We feel your pain too! It’s certainly not how anyone wants to spend their time when rving. I hope you get it resolved and your husband will love camping again. 🤞💙. Thank you for sharing your story -Tammy
Liam is adorable, now I really miss my grandkids. On knee injections try the chicken comb injections not the other junk., best of luck it took a couple injections for mine to get better and they did the other junk once and reversed my progress.
Hello! Thank you! Liam is adorable and we miss him! I’ve never heard of those kind of injections?! He needs a knee replacement but trying to hold off. Thank you for watching and your info!
Yall are getting so big and forget about us little people hahah!! We are sooooo happy for ya!!!! You are growing because you are both two kind hearted people oh wait I think its because of Gracie!! Yep its gracie!! Sorry guys!!! haha!!! We love yall so much and love your videos soooo much... ok enough of that back to the video!!!.... I can't imagine how frustrating it would be to trade in a fully functional rig with one with so many issues!!! UGH!! I hate you guys are dealing with this!!! : Stop im crying!!!!!! Look how cute your lil guy is!!!!! Adorable!!! You guys do this to me soo much!!! lol... on a positive note you know what isn't wrong with the new RV... the people living in it!!! Happy New Year and yall better be coming to OH in 2022 or else....PS stop posting these videos because chuck says see maybe we should go full time RV life!!!!! WINK WINK!!!!! JK... We need to see this because that is the true reality and we appreciate it!!!
Hi guys!!! First of all I am never forgetting about you! We are in this together til the end 😉🤗. I adore you both and can’t wait to meet up! Assuming this rv will transport us around the country 😏 It’s definitely Gracie! Editing this made me cry missing my little grands 💙. Thank you for saying all of those kind things about us, but hold your opinion until we meet in person 😂. I’m still all for full time…so far…I know where you can get a good deal on a Vanleigh 😂 We appreciate you sooo much! I guess it takes problem videos to boost the algorithm?! Oh well. Hugs and love to you both!
Hey guys. Just found your channel. We bounce between the same sites in Chery Creek and Chatfield as you showed in the video. Sorry you're having so many problems with the new rig. I thought Vanleigh was supposed to be an upper tier RV but this shows that they are all about the same. The salesman seemed to play more games than make sure the rig was correct before it left. Snake Oil came to mind when I saw that video. I hope Tiffen/Vanleigh stand behind the product for you and make it right. I hope they know seeing this makes people like me want to stay away from them and go with another brand. We have a 2020 Reflection and have been almost 100% happy with it. We've toyed with the idea of selling it but have seen prices lately and just can't part with it. Good luck and safe travels. Hopefully you're not in Colorado now. 0 degrees is tough in the RV. :-)
Hi Brett! Nice to connect! That’s awesome that you stay at Cherry Creek and Chatfield too. Yep, it was quite the disappointing experience, but the manufacturer has been good about sending us parts at least! No, we are most definitely not in Colorado in “real” time. Our family is updating us on the cold! Are you still there? We sure appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment! So nice to connect with other RVers! Stay warm-Tammy
HI Victoria! Thank you for your kindness and support! We will take all the prayers we can get and know we will come through this! Appreciate you! - Tammy
All these issues makes ne think of my car that has been at the mechanics for a week and a half constantly fixing every thing but then again in 4 months time my car will be 26 yrs old.
Sounds like it time to go back to Grand Design. Just bought our 2nd solitude. Had a 373fb and loved it. Just bought a 390rk-r. Just waiting for the PDI to be done so we can pick it up. Can’t wait!!!!
Hello!!! That’s great you are getting our old unit. It’s amazing. I’ve heard horror stories from all different manufacturers, so who knows, but I do think we had a good grand design! Congrats on your new rig and enjoy every moment! Happy travels-Scott and Tammy
We were at Red Bay AL getting a few things looked at on our 2014 Tiffin Phaeton and talked with several owners of new Class A RV. They all had huge issues with their RV. Some had only had them 3 days when issues started piling up. So sorry you guys are dealing with this also.
Hello! Nice to connect! I was thinking maybe it was just the line of fifth wheel products, so it’s surprising to hear their class a versions are experiencing the same. Craziness! The service center is so booked out, now we know why 😬. Hope you get your rv fixed up and we sure appreciate you dropping in and sharing your experience!
Northwood Manufacturing. Best frame in the industry. You can but fluff or you can buy a foundation. I'll buy the foundation. Arctic Fox or Outdoors RV.
We recently sold our Fleetwood Discovery diesel pusher, with the thought of replacing it with a 5th wheel, for (hopefully) less maintenance issues, and the massive depreciation diesel pusher RV's have. But after watching many RU-vid video's it made me realize 5th wheel trailers don't seem to be built nearly as well as diesel pusher RV's. I've been told Grand Design builds the best 5th wheel trailers and while they certainly look nice from the outside, but based on several RU-vid video's I've seen posted by GD 5th wheel owners, their build quality is no where near the build quality as our recently sold Discovery. Now we're seriously rethinking our 5th wheel purchase. Is there a high quality built 5th wheel brand we should be looking at?
Hi Butch! In our opinion diesel pushers are certainly a step up in quality over any pull behinds. We had very few issues with our grand design and this new Vanleigh is supposed to be a step up from that and you can see the issues we are having. There are other luxury brands out there but we don’t have experience with any of those. I would definitely get an inspection on what ever you decide even if it’s new. I also would make sure the manufacturer is reputable and takes care of the customer. That was one reason we went with both grand design and Vanleigh and both have proven that. Even with all of our issues with this unit we can call the manufacturer and talk to someone and they get us parts etc. I hope you find what you are looking for! Thank you for watching-Tammy
Love the campground. I'm so sorry you are having so many issues with your new rig. That stinks!! Liam is so sweet. You guys really have had way too many issues. I'd be worried about more than the brand of fireplace. I'd be worried about the brand of camper by the sounds of it.
Hi guys! Nice to see you here. Yep, more problems to come too 😏. We are working through them with the help of manufacturer but it’s certainly isn’t how we want to be spending our time. Hope you are doing great! Thanks for your support -Tammy
Hi guys! Nice to have you here! We certainly are trying to make lemonade out of lemons, but might need to add in something a little stronger to see us through 😉. Happy Adventuring-Tammy
Sorry for all your problems. It sounds like Vanleigh should be setting you up with a visit so they can do an inspection that was not apparently done at the factory. Your list of problems are not from using it as a full time rv- they are getting you parts but they really should be suggesting a visit to the manufacturer and an option to switch it out. Hope the company steps up and sends more than parts soon!
HI Carol! Thank you for your concern and we were just having that conversation! We will see what happens?! Once again, we absolutely appreciate your support and we are happy to have you join us!
So sorry to hear! Regarding your fireplace, we had the same brand and model 'Covenant' in our new '21 Keystone Avalanche, and the same wires fried! We smelled the smoke, shut it off and contacted customer service at Keystone. They shipped an identical replacement unit to me directly vs going through a dealer. Although it tested fine, we will see how it works for the long run.
Hi Gary! Thank you and regarding your same brand fireplace, when we received the same replacement, Scott took the back off to check those wires and sure enough they were loose, so he taped them up and so far so good. Thought I'd let you know in case you want to check too! Appreciate you writing us to let us know your experience! Happy New Year!
Finding your channel makes me feel like this will be a very good year for all of us. The initial appeal to me was you two seem so real but then when I saw your dog I was convinced this is a great channel to follow. My little rescued dog has been called the ugliest dog alive by my oldest son and I told him Hush, she doesnt know or care that she is not video pretty to you. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The rv problems you have had are unfortunate but some things are just the way they are. Good luck for a very good year.
Hello! You brightened our morning with your comment!!! So happy to connect! Rescue is the best! We are working through the problems and hoping we get them resolved soon! Thank you and your little rescue dog too for joining us and taking the time to comment. Happy New Year! -Tammy and Scott
Oh no - seems like everything is going wrong 😨 At least you got to see family 🎉🎉 Loved the fridge cleaning incidents 🤣🤣 Hope you can get stuff sorted soon🤞🤞🤞🤞
Hello my friend across the pond! It’s been a bit frustrating but we are trying to take them as they come and deal with it. It was great to spend time with family! Hope you are well and Happy New Year!
Wait? You can hire an inspector when buying an rv? That is what I need. I will be buying within the year and I need someone who knows what to look for. Love your videos ❤️
Sorry you got what appears to be a Lemon too bad you can't take it to the manufacturer for them to repair or replace what ever needs it or get you into a new one that has been checked out.
I was so upset seeing how what should of been a pleasant experience turned out to be a nightmare. Reminiscent segment of the Cary Grant movie “ Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream Home” I’m so mad I can spit!
Hi Joe! Ah yes! That movie brings back memories and feels a bit like our situation now! Cross your fingers we get all of the big stuff worked out as my confidence in our home on wheels is shot. Appreciate your support!
Hi! A disappointment for sure! But the manufacturer has been good getting us parts! Have to look on the bright side right! Take care and good luck with your next rig too!
Oh my goodness you two! What a nightmare you are going through. We hope it will all get sorted out soon. Hopefully 2022 will bring great things your way.
Hi guys! Thank you. We are sorting them out as they pop up, just want them to stop popping up 😬. We will find ways to enjoy life no matter! Appreciate you both!
Tiffin is clearly having quality issues. Walking in their new beacons and phaetons we were appalled at the lack of quality when compared to FAR cheaper units. The trim and cabinetry was falling apart right on the lot. Not what I remember from what used to be a manufacturer with some of the prettiest wood work in the industry.
Wow, that's interesting to hear! I thought maybe it was just the newer Vanleigh line of 5th wheels. I'm not sure what is going on, but we are hearing about issues across the board with other brands too. By the time we get done with ours it will be in great shape for the next owner 🤨. Thank you for watching and sharing!
Hi Lisa! Us too?! Fortunately Vanleigh has been great to communicate with and quick to send parts needed. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment!
OMG I thought your complaint was with the Grand Design unit as mine has been one problem after another since I bought it, which was new never used. Infact the rv technician that I have has never seen this many issues in all his years. Not just manufacturing issues but all of the main appliances had issues. Hope you figure it all out
Hi Teresa! Sorry you are having issues too! Sounds like it doesn’t matter who manufactured them?! Maybe we had the same builder?! Yikes. Yep, ours has been one thing after the other too. You are not alone! I do hope that you get it all resolved so that you can enjoy the rv! Sending good wishes your way -Tammy
@@TilFurtherNotice thanks. I've found a great rv service that comes to me and fixes everything but I've had so many things from beginning and just repeat themselves over and over. I'm thinking of selling on the lot with everything with it including deck, shed and thousands in landscaping.
It probably doesn’t fit your schedule but a trip back to Alabama to have them fix all these issues would be my next step. Very frustrating I know. We have a Tiffin motorhome; the same manufacturer. Ours was built before the pandemic (2019) and doesn’t have anywhere near the issues yours has but these people (all manufacturers) are building these things too fast and they are all made mostly by hand so problems are an almost foregone conclusion. We have had our problems most of which are fixed or are minor irritants, not camping killers. Rolling earthquakes mean more will pop up. Our attitudes make us either throw in the towel or push through. We push through. I hope you do too.
Hi David! Thank you for sharing your experience with us! Unfortunately, the service center us booked out until June! But on the bright side, Vanleigh is communicating with us and sending parts as requested. We’ve been utilizing mobile techs or swapping out things ourselves. My confidence is shaken and you haven’t seen the worst of it yet, but we love the lifestyle and want to continue on down the road. Hoping these problems will be a memory soon! Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment!!
I would think that lemon laws apply to RV’s. I have a smaller (23 ft) pull behind from Grande Design. 2 small issues. I’m 2 1/2 hours from closest dealer, to i deal direct with GD customer service. Sent a pic of each issue and they sent me the replacement parts. Hopefully you get manufacturer to take back and you can get another Grand design.
HI Robin! Thanks for watching and reaching out! I'm not sure how the lemon laws work and I know they are different from state to state. Fortunately, Vanleigh has been great at sending us parts, but it is difficult getting service these days! I've also heard from Grand Design owners and other manufacturers with similar issues, so I'm not sure it's brand specific these days?! Anyway, we really appreciate your taking the time to comment and share your experience with us. Happy travels-Tammy
HI Bob and Noch! Thank you so much for that kind feedback! We are happy to have you along for the ride, although a bit bumpy these days 😉 Happy adventuring -Tammy
Sorry to hear about the problems with your new rig. In my opinion you had one of the best. (Solitude) what was wrong with the Solitude ? I own one and absolutely love it.
You chose two beautiful parks at the perfect time of year. Hopefully in the months of lag since then and now you have been able to get the new 5er straightened out. That Lippert frame is pretty bad, even for Lippert, for a unit not that long off the line. I can only guess that because the manufacturer you went with is low production, it's possible that the frame had an extended time in the yard since it was produced. Nothing POR-15 cannot remediate, but that shouldn't be on your dime. Good luck, safe journeys!
Hi Rob! Yes, fall in Colorado is perfect! It’s nice to have the parks so close to our old stomping grounds to get chores done and visit family! Unfortunately, we are still dealing with new problems, but hoping they will end soon! Vanleigh has been great at sending parts as needed, but finding service help these days is a bit challenging, especially when you live in it. I’m not sure when and where the frame got bad. We bought it in Salt lake?! Anyway, we are happy to have you along for the the journey and appreciate your support! Take good care, Scott and Tammy
@@TilFurtherNotice Sorry to hear your troubles continue. Our Solitude has been no different, but I am more than just handy and have connections in the industry. Not sure where you're heading, but taking the rig to them may be an option and there is a great independent RV repair shop in Indiana that works seamlessly with most all manufacturers for warranty work and caters to full-timers. I'm not going to post them publicly in the venue, but head over to the Escapees forum and you'll be able to figure it out. If you go to Indiana, I think I'd detour to Lippert as well and ask them the opinion. Again, Lippert does not use a great coating by any means, but normally you get a few years before seeing that. Only time I can recall seeing new frames look that rusted is when the full body paint shops were using too harsh of a prep wash or when trailers have gone through commercial truck washes where the wash solutions are caustic and strippers.
@@robv4053 Thank you Rob, we sure appreciate all of your info! I'm thinking maybe you need to come visit us with your handy skills 😉 We are escapees members so will look this up. Appreciate your wealth of knowledge! Tae good care!
So sorry that you are experiencing those issues with your new rig. Hopefully by now (in real time), you’ve resolved those problems are you are once again Happy Campers. Let’s hope that your road is free of congestion, that your campsites are level, and the price of diesel plummets in 2022. Safe travels.
Hi Gerald! I love your comment! Unfortunately we are still dealing with further issues. But I’m going to use your positive thinking and message! Love it! We sure appreciate your kind words 🤗
Hope you can't get every thing fixed but do have a question, is the manufacturer going TO take care of those gaps under your slides so you don't have to mess with that insulation each time the slides go in or out.?
Hello again! The manufacturer sent us parts, Scott replaced one while we had time. However we do put those insulated bits in when we are Parked longer for extra added protection against the elements and critters!
Hello! We were in St Vrain but no longer! We sure appreciate the offer to help though!! Slowly but surely getting things fixed m! Thank you for your kind words -Tammy
did you no when you turn on your flashes it turns on your trailer brakes and also the trailer plug #4 pin hooks to 12v from truck it well charge the rv battery
You need to watch RV Show USA on youtube for the episode where he talks to the Lemon Law Lawyer. I don't remember the lawyer's name. Oh boy do I feel bad for you guys. I'm not usually a proponent for filing law suits but the dealer and the manufacturer owe you big time.
Hi Gregory! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I did see that pop up on my feed! Unfortunately the problems continue…wait until you see the hydraulic jacks fail! Fortunately the manufacturer has been great at communicating and sending parts, but the dealer is another story ! Appreciate your support-Tammy
Hi Gene, we thought so too. They have been great at communicating with us and sending parts, so at least there’s that! Appreciate your support and comment! Happy New Year
Hi Kevin! Yep, it’s frustrating indeed, but nice to have a manufacturer that quickly sends out parts! Thank you for watching, have a great weekend-Tammy
