Looking forward to the 290's fixes and improvements! Owning, operating and maintaining this kind of equipment is such an awesome way to earn a living. I'm dabbling around in the trades atm but would like to own and run some machines one day. Cheers from Canada!
I have seen many Volvo excavators now working on construction sites across the country, but what amazes me is that basically these same excavators could not be given away when they were Samsung...what a difference a name makes.
The speed is adjustable. If you have a good mechanic then he will solve it. If you remove the magnet from the EGR valve without disconnecting the wires, the machine will run faster and dispose of less diesel. What you need is a 17 or 19 tool and a tape tie to hang up the magnet on the side so that the cables are not damaged.
Pretty nice machine. You always have little bugs to get worked out, especially on used equipment. It sure doesn't look like it was abused and banged around. Thanks for sharing.
Looks nice. And you didn't have to paint this one. It's funny you mentioned the pins and bushings. When I hear the audio, you could tell the bucket was shaking a bit. I thought to myself "Chris will have that fixed soon." :-) What does it take to move that locally on the roads? You mentioned it took them a while to get a permit to move it down from Virginia.
Great looking machine. Do you do a Volvo fluid analysis on any of your machines? We have done it on a Volvo loader and have been able to stretch out our service interveals with using good fluids and saved money. When new and under warranty we had to use Volvo filters which were a lot more expensive than a Wix filter and still a very good quality filter. Good luck on the new purchase.
Have you not just considered getting a bigger clean up bucket for the 200 and loading trucks faster that way? We run a hitichi 160 with ex200 sized buckets for loading trucks. Better fuel consumption & much faster then the bigger machines.
Hey Chris congrats on the new machine! It's always fun getting new toys! I was curious as to what brush cutter do you have for your Takeuchi? I'm wanting to buy one for my TL 250. Thanks man
cool machine.. can you do a water bottle flip with the bucket and toe? driving up to a table and picking up some ones water bottle and doing a flip with it would top the charts of amazing excavator tricks.. and you sir, sure have the skills.
In UK I believe it'd be 29 metric ton, not including any hyd or diesel fluid or bucket not sure if it includes dipper arm or not. So I'd guess it'd weigh out around the 35 metric ton mark as it stands there, which is about right for the weight you were given.
You might want to check the Control Valves for the boom, seems like it is not opening up all the way. I could be a linkage is a little loose. If It has the electronic controls It may have a adjustment screw in the handles mounts. I seen that in a John Deere and Cat years ago.
Great operator smooth as silk machine seems a bit slow for you, strong and extra large bucket that holds enough to raise tracks , plenty of hydraulic power just seems slow
Congratulations on the new to you machine. Slow going up? Cold oil? With the bigger bucket slow is fast fast is slow. You keep acquiring nicer newer equipment like this and eventually you'll half to hire an operator. Now there is a scary thought. :-)
New Volvo 290CL excavator 29t heavy weight, big bucket, quicker loading, i like the black, nice paintjob amazing machine Chris 👌😲😎💥i hope not you have worn pump issue, because he is a bit slow on the boom, you need more weight on the back 😲😲😲😲😲😲
Awesome looking and sounding machine. I love the sounds of the hydraulic pump working under a load. I have no need for a Volvo excavator, yet find myself wanting one....thanks man. Lol
lisa toggs hell yeah it is,there's a big difference in someone who "Runs" and "Operates" a Machine.A Operator makes the absolute best use and efficiency out of a Machine, taking care of it the whole time as well. Those skills cost Money to work, not to mention the hairy places you may have to take the Machine.
Love the new machine. Looks awesome!!! You deserve it since you work so hard. Keep up the great work on your channel and have a great Fourth of July!!!
Regen or Def? Hopefully the boom issue isnt a pump issue. New paint can sometimes be a way of dealers selling a piece of equipment like that to help distract from other issues. Good luck!
The 360 blc that i run is slow on the lift to and i have new pumps on it, (looks the same as the one on this 290) i also have all pistons repacked, even the main hydraulic package halves is resealed, only the cups ontop etc on it remains and i might get a somewhat tight machine. 2.3 m3 quick attach bucket on it to.
He said they saw it before it was painted but was washed. I suspect the speed was turned down for smoother operation unless for some reason those machines are really slow.
hey chris great videos mate keep them coming! why don't you put a quick coupler on your machines and just switch buckets to a mud/(gummy)bucket when loading out?
Was that week wait for a permit a one time thing because it was coming into state for first time and staying there? Would sure suck if it took a week to get permit every time you moved it.
That makes sense. The EC750E (bigger one with a bigger bucket too) is probably more expensive as well. I'm no expert on the models or the prices of different machines but I'm sure Chris is and he probably got a great deal with this machine.
I'm not at all an expert on machines but why didn't you get a EC750E (the bigger one Volvo makes). It appears to be a bigger machine so you could use it on your bigger projects. I looked at the stats and it appears it is superior in all ways - More horsepower and a bigger bucket.
@@waltermattson5566 Slower than what? 290s are bigger machines than the stuff he works with these days, like a 160 or a 220, so they're going to be naturally slower.
Chris, is the counter weight heavy enough for the work you'll be doing? It's just that it seemed a tad tippy with the bucket full and boom out; I'm thinking too, with the hydraulic thumb and that extra weight out there, would that give you more of an issue?
is this the one you bought from the auction and did you do the bidding or your uncle who is running the business side of it or did both of you make the decicion
It takes a larger diameter cylinder to get enough surface area on the pistons to lift heavier loads. They take more oil to fill. To get more speed it takes larger pumps and larger pumps take a larger engine which uses more fuel.
prob have pumps turned down to 85 percent if pump has jam nut on side you can adust angle of swash plate is that a twin pump machine with gear box drive on back or is pump connected directlt to engine straight inline with crank shaft and stacked pumps it wont be gear driven but anyways if they are going to charge you to adjust it buy you a set of gauges that go to 5000psi and do it yourself its not hard to do don't let ppl bs you and make it sound like a magic trick there are just many steps to it and order to executieing the steps
copperheadmarine hey why don't you make anymore videos I like your videos you have everything I love in them. Big equipment Big trucks and work and hauling equipment
neither they are oil filled from factory you have chains ad pads that make up a track the chains pins have oil in them as well as the rollers and idler then seals go bad and I leaks out you have the beginning of a lot of soon to be scrap metal to fix or replace
