I had a Onida Eagle I bought about 12 years ago. Its loud as hell. I'm sure that is why they added the "aggressive silencing" on this newwer bow.

50 feet or less I don't use sights. Years of bow fishing and taking half pull shots has given me lots of practice. Been using the same Oneida for 20 years. My back hurts less I stay hydrated more. Cut out the energy drinks and soda. Found my bed wasn't helping back. I draw on and upward swing instead of downward. Mine is one turn off max poundage. My arrow tip is spot on at 100 yards. Those arrows seem slow. I run off brand whisker biscuit with gaps for fletchings cut out of it. I run small vanes. 30 inch draw.

Thanks for the video. I hope you have great sucess with your bow. If you're wanting a better rest setup for finger shooting, try the bodoodle timberdoodle II rest. It's made for finger shooting and doesn't wear out like the plunger/flipper style rest. Me and many others have been shooting them on our Oneida's for years with fingers. You won't be disappointed.
@mitchellblount4896

Watching this older video. How are you able to get the timberdoodle quiet?
@teamdeadon
@teamdeadon Год назад
@@mitchellblount4896 you just put shrink tube or mole skin on the metal fins that hold the arrow. It makes it dead quiet.

Can you tell me the exact model you suggest? Seems like there are more than one option on models. I am shooting the Oneida with fingers and hopefully trad vanes. By the way thanks for the help.

Your shooting it because Tim Wells the Shlock master and his whole family use it. He shot a elk at 100 yards with it.

How to fix your front shoulder pain suck your shoulder and keep it tight, Stand proud. Also draw the bow away from your chest, don’t pull into your chest, pull parallel with your body and rotate your hips as you pull. It should go away. And if that does not work, just lower the poundage.
@EFactorOutdoors
@EFactorOutdoors 3 года назад
Thx for the tip. My shoulder doesn’t hurt at all to shoot the Oneida now. Still hurts to shoot the ole recurve though.

Hey man,I dont know if you're still having those back and shoulder issues, I really recommend you looking up bulletproof back man, he's on RU-vid and instagram, and has a bunch of videos about fixing back pain and shoulder pain, he trains college athletes and was on the national bobsleigh team, really reccomend you checking him out, he has coaching services. Cheers from brasil

Does Oneida come in short / exact/ or long for their draw length? Example if you set it at 28” is it actually 28” or a little shorter, or like 28 1/4”. I really want a Phoenix, but I have a true draw length of 31.75. Some 31.5” draw length bows work for me and some feel to short. Any answer would be helpful, heck maybe there’s even a way of altering the bow I don’t know of so it would favor my draw length.

Is the bow able to use feather fletched arrows? Or is it vane only?
@EFactorOutdoors
@EFactorOutdoors 3 года назад
Depends on what rest you use i guess. I’m currently shooting feathers but we have tinkered with vanes and they do fine. Has nothing to do with the bow. It’s the whole setup just like any compound

How much quieter is your bow with the wool silencers versus the rubber like Tom uses? Are you concerned about getting them wet?
@EFactorOutdoors
@EFactorOutdoors Год назад
I don’t think there is a big difference other than mine are way cheaper and home made. I’m more concerned about my feathers getting wet on my arrows than I am the wool. Wrapping the ends of the string in wool is a big deal also
@CrowArchery5150

What kind of string material did you use? I'm considering getting one of these and definitely will be doing a similar setup. Are the tips reinforced enough that you would trust d97 or fast flight material?

Keep the string waxed. Also replace the string every few years depending how much you shoot it. The oneidas have some cables also that need replaced every few years.

My max draw length is 27.5. Should I get the short or medium?
@EFactorOutdoors
@EFactorOutdoors 4 года назад
Sounds to me like you could go either way just fine since 27.5 is the max draw length for the short. The medium will be a bit more forgiving to shoot with fingers..aka less finger pinch. The short is .. well shorter so it can be shot easier from a blind or tree stand

No the riser is cut way past center, unlike a recurve. I suppose you could build it up with leather and try! I shoot my recurves off the shelf.

@@EFactorOutdoors so you can not just put on for example a bear shelf rest unless you build it up with leather right.
