I started watching for the Keto and love how you both have evolved thru your life. Illness and babies change a families dynamics so much. I try to explain this to my grandson and he is just beginning to understand it. Oh Matt, I forgot. Try the raw organic cold press castor oil every night and buy a Grounding Mat to use during the day for your feet when your inside while you read. Or make sure you ground barefooted when you can 30 mins a day for the plantar fasciitis. Just be consistent with the stretches. It will go away. Trust me. Try the On running shoes too. Their pretty good for us runners who suffer from it and buy insoles for running. Hope this helps. I was able to clear mine up.

That's so crazy that you all have two kids now. When I first start watching the channel you all were not even married and living in Philadelphia. Since you’re planning on moving, landscaping is important so you should leave that corner bush there. Also consider plantings in pots or tubs instead of the ground in front so it can easily be taken with you when moving and the new owners won’t have to deal with it.

Depending on where they move, they can’t just randomly bring plants up north that aren’t native to the zone. At one time I also wanted to bring plants from Illinois to Florida but the planting zones were worlds apart and it wouldn’t have worked…

Watched you guys grow, when you only had a cat, (maybe even a dog, I’ll have to go back and look) evolve, quit your jobs, move, get married, Megha’ s pregnancy with Theo, early parenthood etc etc I can’t believe Theo is almost 4! That makes me older too ! My daughter was in 9th grade now a freshman in college. My son who is your guys age now is married and has a one year old. I totally get moving closer to extended family. We are working on that as well. Video calls have been a Blessing! The beauty of it all is that you now have an incredible video documentary of your lives!

Gardening is mostly getting the soil prepared with tilling & adding compost & manure so the plants have the nutrients they need to grow properly. Also once you have your seedlings growing it is very important to mulch the top of the soil so it helps with water retention & soil scorch from the sun! In addition don’t forget to have wire cages & bird netting to help with deer, birds, rabbits etc, ruining all your plants. After you harvest everything in the fall it is wise to plant a cover crop as well to keep the soil somewhat decent come Spring/planting season.

Matt, my father in law gifted me and my husband the gardening book Crockett's Victory Garden by James Underwood Crockett. It covers so many plants and it is our go to on almost any plantings we do. He passed away years ago but just leafing through the book when we need it is like having him here answering our gardening questions because he learned so much from the book himself. I try to recommend it as often as I can because it is so helpful and is my way of honoring the author and my father in law.

The key to veggie gardening is to start with no more than 3 things at a time. When you try to do to much at first it doesn’t go well. Once you’ve mastered three add one new thing, and then another once you’ve mastered four, and so on.

Matt, since you guys are moving to MI, look at videos made by MIGardener. His name is Luke and I have learned so much gardening from him. I've watched him since he was a teen growing peppers at his mom's house. When you corn gets tall enough the stuff that grows out the top, can be shaken into a paper bag and put onto the corn silks. Then you will have better germination of the cobs. When I gardened on a small scale, I would do my cobs that way and got decent corn cobs! Hope your gardening grows well for the fall! Returned as a viewer after a long hiatus (no reason, just life gets in way) and what a change! Two kiddies now, and it appears to be a new house from previous. And now a move upcoming to Mich. Wow. How you all have grown! I am trying to get back on the wagon, and came to get inspired. I hope the move is good, gardening and whatever else you all do goes well. Try sound healing to eliminate your painful plantar fasciitis. I suffered with it for years. It felt like a knife tip dragged across my sole. I went to a sound healer (some even do the work over the phone) and haven't had an episode since. That was at least ten years ago! Our bodies have crystals (hello! bones) and the sound using singing bowls, tuning forks, cymbals or chanting, aligns our crystals. Good luck. Congratulations on your decision to move north. Nothing beats family.

Michigan has a totally different gardening climate! Good luck. I'm originally from Ohio and very similar climate. Container gardening needs daily watering. Get a soil moisture meter. Basil looks great! Mine died😢

I had that too Matt and went to a physical therapist that gave me exercises to go. The PF got better now so I just keep doing the exercises. Haven't been around for a while so it's good to catch up with you all again. Hard to believe Theo is 4 EEEEEKKKKKK!!!! Take care and enjoy your new journey.

I am a patio gardener ( over 100 plants ) and I find seed starter containers just make things harder. Try starting the seeds where they will end up.

Yeahhhh you’re coming back to Michigan I’m so happy I hope we can meet one day. My uncle is a master gardener and I’ve learned so many tips from him but it’s about the soil though so you’ll have to be loose and aerated and then you can have a compost Sue put all your kitchen scraps in the compost and it makes black gold, which is the best soil. Also, you could have honeybees and have your own honey make your own beeswax, candles, beeswax soap, lotions, etc. also mat for your planter fasciitis you could do swimming in salt water. No pressure on your feet.

I had the same problem with a foot some years back. A friend told me she wore danskos and it helped her. So I bought a pair off eBay and it worked. Thank goodness because I was having a time.

Hey Matt I’ve had excruciating plantar fasciitis for a long time and the best treatment I can provide is to make sure your always wearing good shoes with arch support in your house! The minute your feet hit the floor shoes go on. A PT told me to always wear shoes in the house. I had always gone barefoot or sandals and my feet wouldn’t heal. No plantar fasciitis now. Best of luck with your new adventure! I love gardening and have grown most flowers and veg from seed the last few years. It is a lot of work, and yes I've killed a lot of plants, but love the successes 😊 I had plantar fasciitis about 10 years ago and it took almost a year to get better. Then I got it with my other foot a few years later, and took about 6 months to get that time. Ugh. But they did get better, so there's hope! Lots of calf stretches, ice, massage etc (I'm not athletic, but got it likely from being overweight and working 12 hour nurse shifts on my feet. Fun fun)

Matt, I'm a massage therapist and I have treated many plantar fasciitis and the trick is BEFORE your feet hit the floor in the morning, massage the tender points in your heel and in your arch to soften the fascia so it doesn't re-tear every morning. You will gain great relief within days, and just keep it going for some time.

I am also a massage therapist and have had it and many clients have it. Many were elderly so it has nothing to do with high levels of activity. Massage won't help. It may be a nutritional deficiency. Shoes with arch support is a bit helpful until it subsides on its own. 14 years experience with this in clients

@@vikki4now not trying to be argumentative but I do disagree. With 20 years of experience in sports/therapeutic massage, I have never seen a case not fixed with this technique. Those fibers tighten at night and need softening before stretching out the foot or they tear.

Had terribly painful plantar fascia about 10 years ago where i could barely walk or even stand for any time at all, went to a massage therapist. Best thing ever, took about 3 months of intense painful foot massage but i would highly recommend it, i have been great ever since.
