US managers were very interested in her voice some years ago. But they wanted her to go on diet and loose weight. Then she said no thanks because they did not accepted her as she is! So lucky us Swedes that we got to keep our precious songbird on home soil! 🙋‍♀️🎶🇸🇪❤️

To answer your question. She was sort of already known among the folk. She was the Swedish represent of Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Det Finaste Någon Kan Få" the year before where she ended on 3rd place that year. The year afterwards, as she was 16, she competed in Melodifestivalen (The music contest to become the Swedish representative for Eurovision) with the song "Så Vill Stjärnorna". If i recall, she ended up in 9th place (Correct me if I'm wrong commenters) that year which is still really good. Så Ska Det Låta was aired a few months after Melodifestivalen if I recall right.

I think the show always had famous artists. Molly Sandén was already known from Junior Eurovision 2006 and then she was in Melodifestivalen 2007 (but didn't win). Yes, she sang at the Oscars for the nominated song from the movie "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga" with Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams because Molly is actually the one singing in the movie as a vocal stand in for Rachel's character in the movie. And as it may confuse you if you search the song Molly also goes under the name My Marianne when she sings songs that's not... well Molly Sandén. So like different names for different genres. The guy in her team is Magnus Bäcklund. He was in a duo called Fame together with Jessica Andersson and they competed in Eurovision 2003 with the song Give me your love.

Her littlesister sang this song in the finale of sweden`s got talent. (Holding out for a hero) And her sister is also the voice of Anna from Frozen. Her namn is Mimmi Sandén

This song is from a swedish film "Såsom i himmelen" and this song "Gabriellas sång" sings in the movie by Helen Sjöholm!

My view is the oposite, the show started with famous artists, but later had to take in less famous ones
