OUR REACTION TO Rammstein - Mein Teil live hurricane festival 2013 (English Lyrics/Subtitles) 

"Mein Teil" is a formulation with two meanings. I can mean (in the context of this song) "This is my part of the food" but it is also a German slang word for the male "organ"....that was eaten in reality by the real Cannibal Of Rotenburg (Armin Meiwes), who this song is about. There is a Wikipedia article about him existing. The distorted voice and the text about the butcher-master at the beginning of the song is the original text of the classified ad that was put out by Armin Meiwes to find somebody to eat.

The bassist is actually the youngest of the guys! Till‘s the oldest. Till was born in ‘63, then comes Paul (guitarist stage-right) in ‘64, Schneider (drums) and Flake in ‘66, Richard (guitarist stage-left) in ‘67 and finally Oliver, the bassist, born in ‘71. Edit: Also this was in Germany! Hurricane Festival is one of the biggest music festivals in Germany.

The Hurricane Festival is a yearly musical festival held in Germany - in the town of Scheeßel, near Bremen.

Rammstein often explores a dark side of human nature (I mean a dark dark side) and true events inspire them. That was the thing in the case of this song (and a few others). The song is inspired by the case of Armin Meiwes and Bernd Jürgen Armando Brandes. In March 2001, in Rotenburg an der Fulda, the two men aged in their 40s met each other, cut off and cooked Brandes' p**is and consumed it together. This is not how the story ends but you can google the rest ;) P.S. Till (the vocalist) is a licensed pyrotechnician :)
