jojo was the most recently signed so his contract is probably valid thru 2025. he doesn't have to worry about anything but practicing, the other players now have job searching to do.

I've heard a lot of Thanatos hype but I've not seen anything impressive in his gameplay. Pretty generic player. Feels like Ssumday and Impact

Nisqy lowkey made Blabber look like the best jungler by a mile. He hasn't had that peak level of play since Nisqy, tbh, which is also why they are struggling so bad. With Perkz, they just hands gapped people to win.

Agree completely. Likely needs a change of scenery and a wakeup call.

no he's just bad. go watch his gameplay, and check his ladder accounts. he hit challenger one time like 8 years ago and has been hardstuck D1 on every account he trains with since becoming a pro player. he is a typical NA comfort money player and we would do good to cut the fat if we want to perform internationally.

​@DeltaRaven97 It doesn't honestly matter. The issue with bootcamping like that is it doesn't matter if the region you come back to doesn't play at the same level. They'll come back and look solid for a few weeks, but their mechanics and everything will eventually regress to the LCS level. The only value in bootcamping is to do so right before a big event (i.e. bootcamping before MSI or worlds). As for domestic play, you aren't really retaining much of that by the time playoffs hit for your region (which is what matters most). Moreover, your region might play entirely different; thus making the things you learned feel useless. If what you learned does apply, then other teams will just copy you. At some point, you just need better hands than your opponents. Your hands aren't going to stay at an elite level if you aren't routinely facing elite talent. Think of it like a traditional sport. Say basketball, for example. If I take 300 more jump shots than normal every day two weeks before the season starts, I will come out looking improved, right? But if I stop taking those 300 extra jump shots every day, I will eventually just regress back to where I was before I did that practice.

Look at TL, they looked to other regions adopted their fundamental game philosophies, Not being passive and actively looking to fight over everything and they improved drastically during playoffs. If C9 goes and only plays SoloQueue doesn't try to copy and actually learn from LCK teams in scrims they will regress and look bad but if they can adopt and learn some fundamental pieces of Korea gameplay that they don't do it could make them click just like TL did. They have pretty good Korean connections between Reapered, Thanatos and David so hopefully they can land some scrims vs top korean teams. But at the end of the day they could all just focus entirely on their hands keep playing the same passive style come back suck ass and make me look like a dumbass who knows.

⁠@@rylanmarriott8116 but 3/5 players on TL learned/already knew those fundamentals/concepts cause they are Korean and were in LCK before LCS, so when it comes to learning the concepts/macro of top teams they know it better than NA teams in general, even if some of their mechanics aren’t the same as before and they are older. NA teams that go to Korea and try to SPEEDRUN Macro fundamentals and concepts always seem to fall off towards the end of splits then go Mental Boom into international tournaments where they end up getting exposed as frauds, because they lack the foundation that KR/CN regions have. Just look at C9’s NA mental/work ethic, Berserker seems like he is the only one that cared about the scrim grind/fundamental practice (the punch incident) during the split. Hopefully Thanatos doesn’t go NA mental boom quickly and can bring some kind of KR skill to C9. At the end, if C9’s Thanatos experiment fails, they’ll just blame the language barrier 😂

Isnt that why they brought reapered in the first place in 2016. They relied so much in hai shot calling that they needed to change.

I feel like the issue is not only a lack of shot calling, but Jojo/Blaber not meshing well. Blaber did best with really mids who didn’t try to carry or dominate lane, but basically let blaber have the resources to dominate.

Nah the issue is too many voices/shotcallers Last year they had emenes who wasn’t much of a voice. Now they have Blaber, jojo, Vulcan and Fudge trying to call the game. Listen to their comms its a mess minus Fudge as a voice will be good. guy honestly clutters up comms, and has way too much input for how bad he plays. Guy wants to call the game while being a black hole in top lane

Ya people talking about getting fudge and mithy out (I agree) but good god has Vulcan been overrated for awhile now. Dude is the most mid/average support 🥱

@@BIGshippyy Been weak since after spring of 2022 and is another player who performs poorly at international events a lot of the time if people remember his MSI, Worlds, etc. games (outside of some games with EG). They should've replaced all three, but I guess they're banking on the bot lane chemistry to grow in summer. I don't understand how him, Eyla, and Olleh keep getting LCS spots over other supports in the region and how Winsome is still teamless.

Yeah as Jojo said, they tried to limit test in scrims without bothering to develop their team chemistry. Because talent... It's part of the coach's job to ego check the players and humble them back to reality. Hopefully Reapered is up for the task.

People are capping about Fudge, but where is the Blabber hate train? Dude hasn't reached that peak form he had when Nisqy was mid. Dude was touted as the best jungler in NA ever, but where has he been since? Just abysmal play, tbh. They both need to be gone.

What is this revisionist history with Fudge now lol? He's been weak for the last 2 splits and the last Worlds tournament, outside of the odd games, but everyone's acting like he didn't step up since spring 2021 playoffs to spring 2023 as a player and didn't do well at half of the international tournaments while Vulcan, Blaber, and Jensen/Perkz ran it down at a lot of moments. You do realize this is just how it is, right? Many Esports players become washed after a few years or need fresh starts on new teams.

He went from unproven rookie to best top in NA... why do yall act like he stayed the same the whole time

Thanatos won't right this ship. Jojo isn't taking the game seriously, Berserker is mental boomed (look how streaky he became), and Blabber can't seem to figure out the jungle meta at all lol

@@faveology I agree, but mithy was a big reason for all of these issues for the last 2 years with Blaber's poor read on the meta and scrim issues.

They kicked Summit bc he was running it and was too one dimensional. Diplex was not better than Emines. And Blabber had only this split as his average split. You really think he deserves the boot? You are weird.

@justinlee5666 Bro, no. Everybody saw that the reason C9 wqs failing with summit was due to his small champ pool and that he over extends 90% of the time. All teams exploited that. Even when he came back on TL. It is far different than JoJo. Not even a good comparison.
