Bought a ProOne Big a couple years ago, and it's one of the best investments I've ever made. Great tasting, clean water. Makes drinking unfiltered water at restaurants a chore.

I LOVE that your washer has an agitator. I hate that the new ones don't. I also do not like the newer sideways ones. Oh my goodness!! And your water runs when the lid is open! I miss that so much! I love your frugality. Our sofas were all from our neighbor when we lived in VA. They first has a long sofa they gave us, practically new. Then, they gave us another identical one months later. A while later, they bought two new Lazyboy loveseats, but didn't like them, so sold them cheap to us. The initial sofa tore, but I wish I had kept it instead of the two loveseats. Ahhh, but I am thankful for what we have. We bought new washer and dryer when we moved to AR, but the washer broke within a couple months. I had to hand wash laundry for over a month. When the tech came out, he said these breaks happen all the time because the manufacturer makes the part with plastic now. BUT, he buys up all the metal parts from past time and puts those in despite the fact they "are supposed" to put in the same part. I have a clothesline and want to start using it more. I just get so comfortable with a dryer that I don't.

We purchased the large AlexaPurePro 5 years ago and have been very happy with it. We replace the one large filter every 2 years (approximately $180 Canadian). 6 months of the year we live in our RV and deal with some really awful campground water, the other 6 mths in our cottage with very hard well water. The filter has never let us down 😁

I was shopping for and even considering making a gravity fed water system but ordered a big Pro One filter system after watching your instruction video. I was very impressed with your research on filters so I did even more. It's one of the best investments I've made for my family and the water is crisp and fresh. Love all your videos, thank you!

Thank you. I purchased the small BERKEY years ago. I appreciate your video about cleaning the filters and machine. I even use the same glass pitcher to add water for filtering. 😀 I was so tired of purchasing bottled purified water. I am on city-water. The filters eliminate the smell and taste of the chemicals used in the city water. I am completely satisfied with this water purification system.

Really cool to see an American family using a drying rack to dry their laundry. Except from Ruth Ann Zimmerman, I don't think I've seen anybody over there not using a dryer. It is very normal here in Norway. On dry days most people dry it outside, and on wet days we dry it inside on a rack. We've had a heat pump to heat our house for 20 years, and that is also very effective for drying laundry inside. It is definately the best for the clothes not using a dryer. We had very little wear and tear from washing. With two boys it was mostly an active life that wore on their jeans 😀 we have a dryer, but uses it only for emergency-drying, ('mum, I need my shirt dried NOW!') and for kitchen cloths. They are SO boring to hang... :-) I love your channel.

We have the same washer and dryer we got when we moved in our house 14 years ago, the washer we got new, but our dryer was given to us by my brother and they both are still working great. Was thrilled with this old big pot I found at an antique store was pretty inexpensive and am able to do waterbath canning in it. Love bargains.

This was interesting! I’ve been researching the Berky & water filters as a newbie. I’m still in town on city fluoridated water but I have a Culligan store here w drive up dispensers of both alkaline and spring water for $1 & .25 /gal. I very rarely use my electric dryer as I have a clothesline strung in the basement as well as an outdoor one. Saves big $$ & I love hanging laundry & the smell/feel after dry. It’s the simple things!😉

I have had a travel berkey for 3-4 years and love it! I'm so glad you went into detail about the filters you use as I only have one set of the originals left. I noticed when checking out the links that they actually take out even more impurities than the original berkey filters, but the 7" are out of stock everywhere! I'm curious if this is an on going problem, or I'm simply having bad timing? Thanks for your great videos!

Be so careful with the older driers. We were gifted one and clean it thoroughly. When it caught on fire it was due to an old internal fuse had deteriorated. Thankfully we had it in an out building as it destroyed everything within 15 minutes of starting. I’m all for buying second hand but tumble driers are not worth the risk for my family now.

Thanks for this demo on cleaning the filters and doing the dye test. But, uh oh...what if you accidently get a drop or 2 of the dye on the filter...is it damaged??

Dryers are worth their wgt in gold to me. Esp with cloth diapers and/or bedwetters/infirm/sick family members.

How about laundry detergent? We got away from using plastic bottles.

What are your thoughts on buying a used Berkey but buying new pro one filters?

Living without a dryer is a lot of extra work! Buying used is great, but i would not buy a used mattress.
