I've recently learned that particular soft cheese has lots of bad stuff added to it , and I didn't realise , I use mascaphone or check the supermarket version which often dosnt have all the nasty bits 😊 nice recipes love you both x
Hi Both. Sharon, I usually save some of the pasta water in a cup or jug, just in casr the sauce needs to be thined down. This sometimes has to be done with the carbonara sauce as it contains eggs. The pasta water also has the flavour in it.
Looking at the nutritional information regarding the cheese and the pasta, which is thought to be low calorie. The pasta is just over 32 grams of carbs per 100 gram..Cheese for a whole tub.. sugar is 25 grams per tub, carbs around 15, so deffo not a low calorie or low carb for either the cheese or the pasta, unless u use a smaller amount of cheese. The pasta is not particularly low carb.
Its the pasta (of which sugars) carbs that matter, Sharon only put the whole tub in as a one off, you'd only put half in instead of using cream so it would be lower than a standard one. I thought we made that clear in the video.
@@butlersempire It's not just sugars that are the problem, I'm afraid. All starch carbohydrates such as that in the maize and rice flour are converted into glucose very quickly as part of the digestive process (chew on a piece of white bread for a minute or so and note how it turns sweet - that's due to the Amylase, maltase and lactase in your saliva - and that's just the start) So the all the starch is quickly converted to glucose and boom, sugar spike. The only carbs that aren't converted are fibre (cellulose). So to avoid sugar spikes, all carbs need to be considered. I'm T2 too and fell for the just avoid sugars ploy initially. There's a guy on RU-vid - Dr Sten Ekberg who explains it really well. It's an eye opener.
@@tonylangley2092 Yes Tony' I know all that bud and have watched all the videos. The meal wasn't for me as I don't eat carbs, The lady just wanted to see a lower calorie pasta dish and that's what we did.

Thank you both for your videos was stuck in a bad scenario with no cooker as it stoped working. So had to come up with some ideas for cooking,so I started with a air fryer which is a ninja malti air fryer. My frying pan came today like yours Omg the packaging was amazing packed like a Christmas present. Its lovely have seasoned it like they said thank you xxxx
Happy belated birthday Sharron! I am sure you had a fantastic day . I always keep some of the pasta water back to slacken off the sauce plus makes it go a bit further x
Hi! Long time subscriber here from Australia also, love your air fryer & cooking vids, you are both genuine and that's the thing that keeps me coming back. Thank you both! #SharonAndMartinRock

Hi Martin and Sharon! Myself and my partner Andy have not long found your channel and love it! You and your family are such lovely down to earth people and we are really enjoying your videos! It’s a definite thumbs up from us both! Best wishes, Michelle and Andy x
Happy belated birthday Sharon hope you had a great time lovely. When I'm better I will deffo be trying this out love prawns & garlic still feeling rough and so exhausted from all the coughing too xxx
hiya did you look at back of package Tescos Freefrom range are quite high in carbs as made with rice flour and maize . I have found that Gluten free is often higher in carbs . might be different in UK than here Ireland .thank you for recipe i will try it on baked potato as I am gluten intolerant and rice and maize Intolerant .
It was what we were asked to do, use a lower carb pasta and this was one we found. The sugars was lower and this is the stuff that spikes your insulin.
This is Kath from Australia. I will be having that, but as you say Sharon our prawns are huge. We have been here 15 yrs so when I first saw Aussie prawns it was like have a lamb chop on the plate.
@@dbe2700 Geez, what is your problem, My eating plan suits me so please keep your opinion to yourself as you are not me. Did you not understand, It wasn't for me this meal and I did not eat it.
Hi Tracey hopefully YOU had a nice birthday . Thank you for sharing all you both do . There's nothing wires than not having a Neuf source on your paster . I'm going to try that may be with chicken .😄😄😄😄 👍👍👍👍
Watching videos from the UK I noticed that, but here on the East Coast of the US there is no problem to buy all different size shrimp with their shells on,I save the shells in the freezer, when I have enough I make a fish chowder with them.😊
Looked really yummy, I’ve always been nervous of cooking with Philadelphia like that, thought it might be too rich 🤔 thanks for vlog ❤ ps Belated Birthday Wishes Sharon xx 🌸🌺🍹🧁
Hi Sharon & Martin, Happy Birthday Sharon hope you had a lovely day. Mmmmm that looks amazing. I was looking back on your videos ie to cook pork chops but couldn’t find video, as I have very poor eyesight it love your videos & help me to cook on my cosori duel zone drawer air fryer so can you tell me what temperature & cook for how long please. also can you can you tell me what setting/ to cook a burger say what on the panel on below or above the drawers, cos I peeled off the sticker off by accident when I got it. You both make me laugh you are soo funny 😂, as I was looking for the pork chop recipe on you videos but I went way back on your videos well the one had me in laughing sooo much I nearly wet myself with laughing sooo much was the one that you both did on your grandson VR rollercoaster game thing. Love you guys soo much you make my day, take care Jackie 😊x
Hi martin you did a video on individual apple pies using shortcrust pastry and puff pastry i can find the video can you point me in the right direction pls.
Thanks to you both Martin and Sharon, another great informative yet entertaining video, I've had this meal before but with chicken, but it had bacon bites sprinkled on top with chives, and it was lovely, take care keep doing what your doing its great 👍
Happy belated birthday to you Sharon. Wishing you everything you wish for yourself. ❤ Love the idea of this meal. I'm vegan but luckily I can still try it. Tesco do vegan prawns (yes, I know, sounds bizzare but they're nice) and that exact brand cream cheese you used they also do dairy free in that flavour. I have tried all the free from pasta at Tesco and my fav is the Tri-colour fusilli which is normal, tomato and spinach, it holds it's texture and is nice aldante if ever you fancy it. Sorry to bore you with my vegan stuff 😴, but, I loved this vid and meal and hope I can help anybody out there who is vegan like me but wants to replicate it. Your Chris would maybe love this too Sharon if he likes pasta. He obvs could eat the dairy cream cheese being vegetarian but it would be interesting to see how he finds the vegan prawns. Sending big love as always to you all ❤
Hi Martin Butler and Sharon Butler can't believe that this weekend is a year ago when Marie and I came from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 to meet you and family at the Ragged Apron Cafe for the charity Hog Roast, Beautifully cooked by Dale BTW. It's on again this weekend folks so get along if you can, contact Dale at the Ragged Apron for tickets 🎟.
Lovely quick recipe. Could I ask, do you remember the size of the cream cheese? I was looking at Tesco online and can see 165g and 280g size packs. Thanks in advance.
Looks delicious 😋 Tried our best to get to the ragged apron on Saturday but unfortunately we can't get into Woodhall spa till the 2nd of September, hope to catch up with you both while were there. ❤
