Can I also add how badass it was for BTS to just announce this right now instead of waiting around for the Korean government to decide about exempting them or not. This is for all the haters who were saying BTS were trying to avoid military service.

I saw a comment from a Korean fan. They said the government wasn’t expecting them to make the decision. They weren’t even aware. They are SCRAMBLING to get BTS to make them money again. RM has said before that the K-Pop industry is relentless, no doubt moreover with them as a group. I feel like this enlistment is not only surface level respect for their country, but also a middle finger to all those who only saw them as a dollar sign. They are more than a dollar! They are respectful and honorable young men. People who love music and bring people together with said music. They will come back stronger and so will we, ARMY. I’m with you. Here is to their solo endeavors and the reconvene in 2025! 💜

To be very honest, I'm heartbroken that I can't see them together for 2 years, but at the same time I'm proud of them that they're serving their country....! Even if they're not with us for given timespan, their music will always there to comfort us in our rough and lonely times. They promised us that they'll be back in 2025 and asked to trust them!! As an Army from 2017. I am soooo super happy they said fck that we are going on our own terms. After the government took forever just trying to milk them for money. I am proud of our guys. They have never let us down and never will. I will be waiting for 2025. Saving all my money and catching up on all BTS contents ive missed over the years. BTS 💜 ARMY forever!!

I have to say I am proud of them. I turn 60 in 2 weeks and medically with surgeries has been a nightmare. 2 hip replacements in 2 years, Now, suffering from severe arthritis, my knees are next. With BTS playing in my headphones, physical therapy was something that was easy for me. I'm trying this with my arthritic hands and crying. I want to say thank you to BTS for having a big part of recovery. I will be forever grateful. Stay safe guys and God willing, I'll be here waiting for you. I remember hearing Namjoon during a concert, I can't remember which one, but it was in English, and he said something that was the extent of "If you'd give us the pinky finger to stay together for a long time." And I keep thinking about that, I keep thinking about how the guys are so strong for doing this, and army is so strong, and we'll be here for each other. No matter where we are in life, we will be here for each other and that is so comforting. Yet to come, I'll be waiting for 2025 with hope of a future filled with Bangtan.

Their 2025 comeback will be insane. I cried for a couple days after their festa in June knowing that enlistment wasn't too far away. But something about this announcement was reassuring. I think it's great they will get to release their solo projects but they will be enlisting pretty close together. I was dreading possibly waiting 7 years for them to be done serving but knowing it's only going to be a couple years makes it a little better. Also their concert in Busan, South Korea was incredible. They definitely gave their all during that concert knowing it was going to be their last as a full group until 2025.

I was very sad when I found out the news because I just started stanning them in 2021, but they'll be back and better than ever.

Honestly, this was something I was expecting since their last comeback. Their album PROOF, their last concerts, 2022 FESTA and all of their new songs all felt like a constant goodbye. Like they were slowly preparing us for this and that is why I feel like it doesn’t feel as bad as it would have felt if they just suddenly gave us the announcement. I do believe in their word and have trust that they will come back though. I get a genuine vibe from the guys every time they talk to ARMY and they have proven over and over again how passionate they are about what they do and their love for ARMY so I’ll definitely support them on their decisions and hope that everything goes well for them. Their music and them were, are and will be a great part of my life always. 💜

Imma be honest, I have been a fan of bts since 2014, so the military announcement did make me feel a little sad but at the same time I respect their decision and I’m proud of them for doing this. I’m so used to seeing bts as 7 so not seeing them as 7 for a few years hurts a little but 2025 is coming soon, I know that they will come back even stronger and army’s will be stronger too. I woke up to my timeline on Twitter being full of so many positive tweets from armys saying they will stay by bts and always support them. Like Yoongi said “we will grow old together”. Even some people that aren’t armys were saddened by the news and surprised that this is happening, they acknowledge that bts is a big group that made a huge impact on the music industry and Korea’s economy. And that just makes me proud to be an army. We are in this bangtan sonyeondan shvt for life 😆

Today was such a rollercoaster of emotion. I did feel a bit of shock at the announcement but it was something I've been preparing myself for with Jins birthday coming soon. I am so incredibly proud of them for taking this into their own hands and being themselves. I am also incredibly proud of army! I've seen nothing but positivity and support for each other today, we all have our own feelings and we process it all differently and we are here for each other! Also the fun we can have when we are trying to laugh instead of cry. Army is hilarious, no matter what Tae says 😋

I am proud of BTS for wanting to fulfill this service to their country and taking the decision into their own hands on their terms. The government has been stringing them along for so long now and I can't imagine how hard it was making group plans without a clear answer. BTS has always expressed that they are ready and willing to serve their country when the time came. I am also proud of ARMY. ARMY is the ultimate in being a loyal fandom and will be here to support whatever the guys do in future and be waiting for their safe return. All day I have seen ARMY trying to be strong for BTS and for each other. After the FESTA dinner I think we all cried for a day and then came to the realization that what we wanted most is whatever would be beneficial to the members themselves. They sacrificed their youth for us and their success. I am so happy that they have had some time to explore their individual interests for a while. Never fear BTS, we will be here just as strong and dedicated as before upon your return. Thank you Jared and Jordan for addressing this.

I’m not gonna lie, I cried a lot haha. I guess it was because the korean government gave us hope at the beginning but I’m happy that BTS once again had the last laugh and took the matter into their own hands. And Hybe already posted a statement claiming that they have been preparing for this moment a long time ago so that we will have new content in the next 2 years and a way to communicate to them on a unique platform, and we’ll have also the boys solo projects. So it’s not like we will not see them haha, and that calms my heart. Because they’ve been my safe zone for so many time and its normal that some people were scared about the news but, as they said a few months ago and at the Busan concert, “Please trust US and just US. We will always be BTS & Army forever. This is not the last time, and it will never be.” So, yeah, of course my heart is heavy but also I’m just so happy for them and so proud. And thank you so much for your words and for being this understanding towards us. People like you make this world better. Twitter armys and edits on tiktok have been making me crack up through the sadness. Since I'm baby army I'll use this break to get caught up with run bts, bon voyage, etc.

The news was like a stab to the heart. They have always been a consoling medium for depressed/those battling mental issues for years. Reprogramming my thoughts, I would always rely to their promise. Looking forward to that day, all will be ok in the end. Changes are inevitable and constant. But BTS will always pave a way.

As much as it breaks my heart to see them go to military, …. I am so so proud of these boys. So proud that they are mature enough to uphold their culture and traditions. When I read the notification from BTS, I didn't feel shocked, sad, upset or anything. First thought that came to my mind, oh finally it happened and BTS might have felt sort of some relief, as this has been keeping their plans for a while now, with the Korean Government's circus of uncertainty and play-around for 2 years. We've seen how this uncertainty of not being able to tell Armys about it frustrates and stresses them out the most. They have prepared us over the years for this. You will also learn of this once you further watch the BTS Festas/Lives (i am so excited) 💜 Now they're free and they have decided for themselves! Only thing left now is the growing and even stronger trust & bond between BTS & ARMYs. 💜

I was awake when the announcement popped up and honestly, I was relieved. My heart is content knowing that they took it into their own hands. Their own decision. I'm so proud of them! I think the timing of how everything went, makes sense. Namjoon and the guys asked us to have faith and trust them. I definitely will! Soon as I saw this notification I click on this so fast. But another then that. I saw this news from Weverse this morning, as I was reading that bts decided to fulfill their military services. Honestly I didn’t know how to take it in. When I say that is I was feeling sad. As I went on Twitter seeing the post from armies everyone want sad/ but also happy in a way because from when we saw the concert they did it wasn’t a farewell it was see you later. I understand that the guys wanted to make the decisions on this because they want to make the choices for themselves. Bts has fans who been with them since 2013 ( very beginning ) or came in over the years as they grow as men. Even tho I came in last year in which I’m now a toddler army. I’m so grateful that I had the time with the guys before they decided to do the military service. I know we all will miss the guys while they are gone but we will have all the memories of bts. It will give us time to achieve our goals & maybe catch up on the bts content that we haven’t seen or heard of them. I can’t wait until that moment they come back together as a group of ot7 & I know that army all over the world will greet them a wonderful comeback. Army will always support & love them💜. I’m still continue on enjoy bts and support of bts no matter what ot7 4ever 💜💜💜💜

After a long and emotional day, I'm at peace with it - and even more proud of them for doing it on their own terms. Besides...the sooner they go, the sooner they can come back. In the meantime, I'll be buying and streaming their projects, enjoying all the Bangtan content they have stashed in the vault, and saving up for the fastest world tour sellout in history! 💜

"Faith and Trust" is what BTS and ARMY have in each other. 2025 gives this 74 years old great grandmother all the more reason to stay young and strong while I wait. I became ARMY in 2018 when BTS made me fall in love with music again(and at 70 I had witnessed all the greats from Sinatra, Elvis, Beatles, Stones, Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Janice Joplin, Smokey Robinson, Led Zepplin, Motown, Bob Marley and my kids introduced me to NWA, Cypress Hill, Eminem, Dr.Dre, Snoop Tupac etc.. In 2020 I got Covid and ended up with Long Covid and permanent neurological problems. I was forced to retire from my calling as an RN of 37 years and became depressed and grieving for my "old self". BTS song Love Myself with its lyrics " the me from yesterday, the me from today, the me from tomorrow are all me" I love myself me without exception ". The patients I have helped and saved, the young nurses I mentored, I may not be able to do that anymore but I am still me. BTS with all their content gave something to look forward to each day. Content creators like you who share their thoughts and their BTS journey with us also made following BTS even more enjoyable 💜 I look forward to you continuing your deep dive journey into BTS. I 💘 these humble, beautiful, talented young men like grandsons and consider discovering BTS as one of the greatest BLESSINGS in my life, and even more proud to call myself ARMY. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I am so proud of them. All this fuss has been debated for years and I'm happy that in the end, the members were the ones who chose. I really don't think I have the right to have an opinion, since I'm not even a Korean citizen, and BTS made the decision on their own. However, I'm just sad. I will look forward to them as long as they need and I will continue to love and support them in all their decisions.

me tearing up while watching this reaction video 😭 it’s a rollercoaster of emotions for me.. i am definitely proud of our boys but my baby army heart has some regrets that i did not stan them early. i only became a BTS army during the pandemic. BTS saved me from boredom and brought so much joy in my life during an uncertain time. how i wish i was able to watch most of their concerts or even just the Busan concert before they temporarily separate ways as OT7. but i am still hopeful that i will get to seen them when they come back as a group. 🙏 i love our boys so much that I am sincerely praying for their safety and peace of mind.. hope they will not worry so much.. and know by heart that their own ARMY will wait for them and will be with them forever. tight hugs to all BTS members and ARMYs around the world. indeed, we are in this together. It is bittersweet and though I am a bit sad about it, I'm happy as well. I'm proud that they decided to do this on their own, I'm happy that we'll get the other 6 albums till they come back as one again and I know that they probably prepared a lot more surprises for ARMY for the time being. Honestly. I started the day sad, I found a group that has inspired me, who has taught me so much. The more videos that I watch of them as they grew the more I loved them. They all have hearts of gold. After sitting for a little bit and thinking about it this is just another step for them to show the world that they are humble, that they are kind, that they do not quit, that they are strong. It shows the world yet again that there is good out there. Sure they are famous, and there are certain things they have to show on the internet but even so you can tell how amazingly pure their hearts are. Instead of sitting back, denying their country the laws that are set in place. Just shows that they don't want special treatment. They are from south Korea and they will support their home. 💜💜💜

Definition of BTS: inspirational and positive!! I am not surprised at all!! This is the type of situation that is what BTS is all about!! Pride in themselves and their integrity.. talking about how proud of I am of these guys!! One of the reasons I got attached to BTS because of their integrity, humbleness and pride!!

As an American, my opinion is meaningless but I do find it surprising that after all of the obstacles that BTS managed to overcome, it was their OWN government that put a stop to their magic 😢. This is a HUGE loss for the whole world especially when we need their light the most 😭😭😭💜

I can't listen and read about this without crying, I've cried today more than this whole year.... But I'm also so so so proud of them and I wish them all the best and this will just push me to work harder so when they come back I'll finally be able to afford to go to their concert and welcome them back in person. Thank you for permission to feel however we are feeling about this. I am a 65 yr old Dynamite era ARMY, and I'm not ready to let them go cold Turkey. Sounds like they are going to stagger service so we are not left without them ALL at the same time. I have never seen them in person, and will be 68 when they reconvene. God willing, I WILL be there to welcome them back in 2025. I am constantly amazed by these young men and how they conduct themselves, reaching not only the youth of the world, but all ages, ethnicities, backgrounds, cultures and beliefs. I pray for their physical safety, but believe they can handle any physical requirements put on them, so more importantly I pray that their mental and emotional health will be protected. They have such tender hearts, I would hate to see this harden them, as it is one of the many things that makes them so endearing.

I'm very proud of them and happy that they are no longer under the sway of SK govt. We will wait for them even if it takes forever because they are worth it. Our bond and love transcends time or space. It's something miraculous if you ask me. BTS deserve the world but the world doesn't deserve them.

I know it's very hard to let them go for a long time but instead of worrying about what are we going to do without them, let's use this next 2 years to grow by ourselves, learn and experience new things. We need to use every thing they have thaugt us to grow as individuals. Let's make them proud that their message is changing the world for the better💜

They didn’t wait for the SK government to announce whether they were going to serve. They are honored to serve their country. & as an Army, I am beyond proud of them. I’ve supported them for 3 years, I will continue to support them during their service and I will be supporting them in 2025. Chapter 1 has officially ended but the best is yet to come 💜

Hi I normally don’t comment a lot, but right now I fell like I need to. I’m a baby Army too, I found them early in 2022. But they’ve grown on me so much and so fast, now it feels like I’ve known them for so long. I’m always surprised it’s just a couple months. I can’t imagine how somebody feels who’s known them for 3, 5 or even 10 years. The hardest thing for me is, that I haven’t got the chance experience one of their concerts in person. But I believe in them, I TRUST them. In the moments I feel sad I always tell myself that the best moment is yet to come and 2025 is actually just around the corner. And I mean ARMY isn’t on a break, we continue to support the members, on their solo journey, their time in military, until we see them all back together and every moment ahead from us. Haha and for you it’s kind of a good thing, if there’s not a lot of new content you can catch up with the content of 10 years. I mean alone this takes at least two years, so the time till 2025 will fly faster than we can imagine now. I feel so good after reading other Army’s comments and I hope every Army who feels down can find some comfort in all the supporting comments or the healing words and music of the members. It’s not the end, it’s just the beginning of a new journey. To all the years ahead from us and all the good music and other things we will get, I can’t wait, but I will always wait for you BTS. Until we finally meet 🎉💜

I’m just happy a decision was finally made after waiting for so long, the proof album hits in another different way now, the solo projects and now the military service it all makes so much sense. I’m so proud of them for everything they have done over the years, it will be weird not having the normal we are used to like Vlives, concerts etc but I know 2 years will go by In a heartbeat and before we know it they will be back, stronger than ever. They asked us to trust them and that’s what we will do BTS have never broke a promise and have never given a reason not to trust them. Honestly, I cried so much after the June festa when BTS said they were taking a "break". But going through all the sadness and realizing how much they mean to me helps you get through (plus ARMY is never on a break!). I realized that they aren't going anywhere and I have all the gifts they have given ARMY over the years to listen to or watch. This news gave me more pride than sadness knowing that they would've been taken advantage of. Honestly, it's still early... You never know what may happen next. With BTS the only constant is that they keep you on your toes. Lol. I'm just going to take it one day at a time and enjoy the ride... Maybe learn some Korean while I'm at it ☺️💜

thank you so much for sharing your thoughts guys. when I first heard the news I felt more than sadness, I felt fear for myself. Because they are the reason why I'm alive after being in the dark for a year. through their songs through their messages and through their stories, they made me feel loved and motivated to continue. the strength they gave to me is here everyday. So when I heard about it I went blank and feel the fear. asking myself "how can I survive now? " the pain is still with me sometimes since they are my strength I still continue but now how can I continue.... When I heard the news I felt like I did when my son decided to enlist and even though it was voluntary here in the US it’s still makes you realize how much we will miss them. I’m 70 years old and I don’t know if I’ll be here when they finish their service and come back but I’m gonna try my darndest cause my goal now in life is to save enough money to go see their first concert when they return! 5 year army here! Surprisingly, I took the news really well. We knew it was coming and I think the concert really helped us all feel a sense of relief! They asked us to trust them! I'm NOT going anywhere!

I'm so glad to see you guys do this video. I'm personally sad mainly because I missed the opportunity of seeing them in Las Vegas when I knew this was going to happened. The fact that now I have to wait longer to live an amazing experience . But I'm so proud of them, they take responsibility, they make decisions and they stand for us and for their country and that is so admirable. I discovered BTS in 2020 and i am still discovering their music. I am almost 50 years old and a Metal fan so i never thought i would like anything associated with Kpop but BTS are very special young men. The first song i heard from BTS was Fake Love and i loved it so much i found myself finding more and more songs that i loved by them. As for how i feel right now, i am upset because we won't see them for a few years but i am also proud of them because they did things on their own terms and decided to go ahead and enlist before waiting for an answer from their government. The boys are in my prayers and will continue to be always.

Thanks for checking on us Jared & Jordan 💜. To be honest, I'm nervous. Through the past years, they've been there. While their music still is (and will forever be) with us, they cannot be right now. I'll miss the random pop-ins, posts, or vlives to brighten my day. I'm nervous because a lot can change in 2+ years. But one thing that's for sure is that I'm going to be here when they get back. i love that through the years, they have always said they will fulfil their duty. they never asked for exemption, but other companies used their names to ask for exemption and now that BTS has chosen to do it now rather than letting the gov give them an exemption they didn't ask for, other groups/artists will also have to do their duty. very proud of our boys and really not surprised at this news at all.

I'm just so sad and crying from yesterday onwards and no one knows how much BTS means to me.. i was already depressed before but because of BTS i got my smile... My every morning starts with BTS content and ends with BTS content. I'm feeling extreme pain right now. The fact that for two years they'll be away from us is killing me already. But again BTS taught me how to love myself, be happy and healthy and never give up.. so yes i won't give up neither myself nor army nor BTS.. I'll wait for BTS. For now the only thing we can do is stream their songs in every platform and keep on voting for them in award shows. Well I am an Army from the Caribbean and when I heard the news I started crying alot ( like plenty ) i couldnt read the statement out loud cuz I would break down in tears. i honestly felt like crying the moment i woke up and read the notification but them i came to my senses and just felt a mix of emotions sadness not being included. i know i'll wait for them as long as needed so i'm pretty relaxed per se and proud of them :) and hey thank you once again for coming here and saying these beautiful and calming words

I feel very similar to when my brother enlisted in the Air Force. Military service is serious and unpredictable events can happen. I am also a very logical thinker and I struggle with the fact that I don’t actually know these people. They aren’t my “real” family, but my heart hurts with sadness and pride just as if they were. A friend said to me, “You feel sad over books and characters in movies, why shouldn’t you feel even more sad when these are real people and real lives? These are people who truly love their fans like family and vice versa.” So, now I’ve allowed myself to fully envelope and feel all these emotions we’re all experiencing, because they are real and valid. The red thread is there and we really are all connected even if we don’t fully understand it. This is the craziest, most beautiful relationship I have ever been in! BTS has my full trust and support.

Thank you for your thoughts! I'm a newer army. Less than a year old so this just gives me a chance to catch up and discover them from the beginning without feeling rushed. And based on what I've seen from them, I'm pretty sure that they have prepared plenty of content for us for the next two years. And military service does give them breaks and I believe that they will come online to reconnect with us and let us know how they're doing and to ask us how we're doing! I'm not going anywhere and will wait patiently for their return as a group!

I am relieved more than anything because now we know the end date and also that BTS have a closure like a BOSS on this annoying issue. ARMY is right behind them forever 💜💜💜💜💜

Hi guys! I feel relief. They are adults making their own decisions and reassuring ARMY that they will come back I'm a 56 y.o. ARMY. I found BTS 6 years ago when my teen daughter was going thru a very hard time. They rescued her, they spoke thru their lyrics & msgs everything I wanted to tell her but she wasn't listening to me. They tought her that life is hard but you never walk alone. Right now, we, ARMY, we won't walk alone...we will be together, waiting and enjoying life, With memories and friendship, doing what we do: 'armying' until these 2.5 years fly in front of our eyes. Army Will be with BTS forever

I'm responding here instead of Patreon to offer my thoughts to more ARMY 💜 I was also very surprised that I wasn't upset when I found out the news yesterday. I was expecting to feel that way. However, since the Festa dinner, I've processed a lot of my emotions and come to the conclusion that my number 1 goal as ARMY is to 100% always support BTS in whatever they choose to do and share with us. I did spend quite a bit of time on Twitter chatting with fellow ARMY yesterday, and I agree that overwhelmingly we've all been supportive of BTS's decision. We also spent a lot of time yesterday making each other laugh (so much laughter, this is how we cope apparently... 😅). Then our chart accounts updated us today that since the announcement, we've exponentially increased the streams of just about every BTS song out there. We all needed a bit of comfort, and we also did the one thing that can always send the message to BTS that we support and love them no matter what. I'm relieved that the waiting to see what will happen is now over. BTS has shown without a doubt what they are capable of (especially with Busan), and now they've taken charge of their lives in this matter. I'm honestly SO proud of them. I have nothing but absolute trust in BTS for how they always treat ARMY so well. They place our well-being so high up on their list of priorities every single time. The bond between BTS and ARMY is truly Bulletproof, because every step of the way BTS genuinely and authentically gave us love and appreciation, and we gave it back. The more each of us give, the more it grew into something magical, beautiful, and unbreakable.
